I've been following Coral Island from almost the get-go. The devs are some of the nicest people I know, the game is already so fantastic, the diversity is incredible, and I appreciate all of the open honesty from the devs and people behind the game.
I backed the Kickstarter right away and I'm excited for it, but the delayed Switch release wasn't really communicated until later, which disappointed me as a backer. I know they've put a lot into development and characters so I hope it's sooner rather than later.
You should definitely do a tier list of all the confirmed dateable characters! I personally love those types of videos, it's very interesting to see everyone's takes on the characters and how people's tastes differ
I’ve already clocked in 20 hours since early access released. There’s so much to do even though it’s still in early access. This game is so beautiful and every area is super unique. I love the inclusiveness and diversity they have going on here. I am absolutely addicted to this game, and I cannot wait for more features in the future and the release on consoles.
I just started playing a little while ago, it's like if Disney and Stardew valley had a baby (aesthetics wise) the characters give me real lilo and stitch vibes. I'm not complaining it's super refreshing instead of anime everything
Omg are we going to have a bachelor(ette) themed stream one day?? Lol This game looks like so much fun! By the time it comes to console it will be nice to have most of the bugs sorted, features implemented, and secrets/tips found out by the community. Loving watch you play it as well! 🤗
My husband LITERALLY looks like Mark, and this was the only reason I purchased the game. But now I feel like I want to wait to play it, since it's still in early access and I want to truly immerse myself into the story. I'm concerned that I won't be able to enjoy it fully until it's completely done. Do you think I can still enjoy the story and game despite it not being finished yet? Perhaps I'm over thinking it...
I was so happy to see it’s playable on the steam deck which I only got because I don’t have a pc but a Mac and love hand held gaming! But hate waiting so the switch porting which takes forever. It’s worth getting a steam deck for early access gaming and you can play any saved games on pc and Mac through cloud saves! Highly recommend it since coral island, slime ranchers 2, sun haven and many others work amazing on it ❤
I've been enjoying the game so much! I love how the devs update us with everything they fix / they do everyday (per the Discord) and it really seems like they care about the players and have so much love for the game. Its came so far from when I played during Pre-alpha. I'm glad its getting so much more recognition and I absolutely love the story and overall message about saving the island/oceans. I can't wait to see future updates! I'm super excited to have a pet and be able to (hopefully) care for it! Thank you for this informational video and can't wait to see more Coral Island vids/streams!
Omg yes you can unlock fast travel! The only thing bugging me about the game even a tiny bit is how long it takes to go around the map so that’s awesome. Man I reallllly hope they nail performance on the switch 🤞🏻🤞🏻
i just LOVE that the food items actually tell you what stats you get from them. in basically every other game, i have to keep a spreadsheet of all that!
I bought this game on steam and I'm loving it so far! It actually reminds me a lot more of older harvest moon games like Animal Parade (especially the town design and how it improves the town over time with adding more stores etc) and a bunch of the harvest moon ds/3ds games (some of those had bug catching in them and town ranking etc!) which were some of my favorites, so I love seeing these in a new farming game again! Aside from the crafting and the keyboard controls, I feel like it is pretty different from stardew, with a lot more interesting npcs that seem to have more personality and a totally different feel too! I hope they take more inspiration from the older harvest moon games like including rival marriage (where the single npcs can get married to each other and have their own kids!) and making it so that you should also have a certain amount of hearts with the family members or close friends of the person you want to marry.
I've got just under 70 hours in the game so far, and I've been very lucky to only experience minor glitches. Almost all of them are UI related, like my hot bar disappearing, or having trouble clicking on the right place to get in and out of buildings, or petting chickens over and over when I'm just trying to pick up eggs. Annoying, but not game breaking. A cut scene in Sam's for local animal products was completely broken and I had to exit out of the scene. There's some missing dialogue here and there, some T posing, a couple of times text came from the incorrect player portrait and once a character mixed up Mark and Chaem, which was really confusing. But over all the game has been running smoothly, no lag or crashing, I've been loving it. I'm just starting autumn, and really getting into decorating the farm now that I've finally earned a bit of money to spend.
I can’t wait for this to come to the switch! Hopefully that day comes soon! Looks awesome ❤ thanks for doing a thorough, honest, and insightful review as always 😊
Has been so fun watching you play! I am definitely getting it one way or another. I am hoping that I'll be able to snag my Steam Deck within the next few weeks and, if I do, I will for sure grab early access, but if not I will be anxiously awaiting for the Switch release. It's just SO GOOD already I can't even imagine how much more amazing it is going to get!!
Had sooo much fun watching the streams and playing it myself!! I feel like anyone who loves the Pioneer Towns and Stardews of the world will love this game! If youre not chomping at the bits for it, maybe wait a little for some of the bigger bugs to get out of the way but its definitely worth it! Also since this game is in EA and liable to big bad glitches remember if you run into any game breaking glitches don't go to sleep in the game/save as that can potentially save the glitched progress and you will lose your whole game. This is one of those games where it doesn't save until the end of the day when you go to sleep so as long as you haven't slept you can exit and whatever happened will be undone.
When it comes to general time management my favorite game for not climbing up your but every 15mins if you stay up to late is rune factory 4. You can stay up all night into the next day and the worst negative is you get a cold that reduces your stamina by 2x the rate sounds bad till you notice cold medicine is easy to get and make ultimately meaning you can just stay up till you want to sleep making sleep not a requirement but a mechanic to skip time. Honestly the only change id make is removing the downside. More farming sims need to let you just do your own thing. While i like the idea of a story and plot based progression, lets all be honest here we all want an option to skip the story and just start right away and remove any plot based roadblocks like locked off zones or upgrades that require a certain trigger to unlock the means to make or buy it. Anyone who has played 3ds and more modern harvestmoon and story of seasons games will know what i mean. No one likes being forced into an hour long story based tutorial for the 50th time even if you have seen them before. Thankfully stardew valley avoids this by letting you skip cutscenes but having the mines locked off is annoying as all heck.
Sorry about a 2nd comment lol but I was thinking about the part in the video where you said Stardew valley has become the new standard for farming games and that makes me a bit sad as a harvest moon fan lol. Obviously stardew valley is a good game and has some innovation, but what it mainly brings that is actually new is the ability to marry whoever you want, which should be in every game obviously, and the need for non farming based makers like the furnace etc, and the ability to mod it on pc. I think because stardew valley is available on a variety of consoles, it’s a lot more accessible than the old hm and sos games, but in terms of actual gameplay and how you interact with the characters, every feature is taken from hm games that are over 20 years old. Hm games haven’t remained the same for 20 years, they have added a lot more mechanics etc in the games on the wii, ds, 3ds that if people had the chance to play them, i feel like it would really show that a lot of stardew’s mechanics are a bit outdated. I think the most disappointing thing about stardew now being the new standard is that it mainly has mechanics from very old hm games, and now everyone, including the story of seasons team feels like they need to follow that style like we saw with Poot, when the last game they did on the 3ds brought a lot more to the table in terms of gameplay. I hope more older hm and sos games like animal parade, trio of towns etc are ported over to the switch and pc and can be more accessible and inclusive so that people can see more of the potential in the farming sim genre.
For the festivals, they should add in some pop up reminders/maybe expanding the time window for the Cherry Blossom Festival, and biggie for those that click fast to instantly make the text pop up, would be, to add in a second confirmation to the NPC that would cause you to leave the festival, and make it default to “no”
his little hint for people if you're going to settings and you enable auto Sprint and then you smash the spacebar you'll Sprint around the map it's a lot faster than walking
I’ve had to miss your streams recently as daylight savings has started in Australia and now you pretty much start at midnight here on weeknights 😫 I did go back and watch your two coral island streams though and this game just looks incredible. It’s definitely the underwater element for me! Thanks for giving us a detailed look at it

I definitely bought this game, also got it in sale. my thoughts is that it's very great. i am really enjoying the story line. and also how to have options of speed of the game and how the art style is. its amazing and i am super happy with this !. i can't wait when it fully done.
I saw Coral Island at not-E3 this summer and I’ve been eagerly awaiting it ever since! I’m really excited for when it realises on other platforms. My laptop is old and won’t run it 😂
Oh I should really buy this game, it looks like just the right amount of farming and cozy npc socializing! And jeez, that s'mores plush is so freaking cute!!
Gra ma ogromny potencjał, piękną grafikę i wygodny, przejrzysty interfejs.Chciałabym,żeby można było obracać kamerą i robić zbliżenia.Mam nadzieję, że twórcy tak zrobią.Pozdrawiam.
I’m really excited to play but I’m definitely sad it’s going to be so long before I can play since I use my consoles, not a PC. It looks so good and I know I’m going to love it.
I wish I could buy it now, but my laptop is barely working these days and I can't buy a new one for at least a couple of months, so I only have my Switch 😭
Iona, do you have a Steam Deck? There are some great controller maps made by the community on there that make Coral Island playable on the Deck. I’m having a blast with the game.
I got my SD last week and debated buying this because I wasn't sure how it would work. Was it easy to sort the controls out? I think I could easily follow a tutorial but left to my own devices I'd prob get lost 😅
@@mindymac_does_stuff yes it was, do you know where the controls menu is on game screen before you click play to launch the game is? on that controls menu there is a section with community controls, download the first or second one on the list (cant remember the names) but they're both good.
Hopefully they will add controller support very soon... i bought the game but i don't like to play on keyboard 😥 so i'll wait until they have controller support.
"And speaking of the characters, that's another thing I'm in love with... like literally in love with I wanna marry most of them" how my brain auto finished that sentence 😅
Ok you sold me I will play this while my girl plays dreamlight valley. I can't play it for some reason not enough guy stuff it's addictive but it needs more guy stuff to be super fun for me Disney Dreamlight. Going to check this one out! Thanks!
Grow is AMAZING. I definitely recommend. It’s beautiful, the soundtrack is fantastic, the animals are adorbs and the fact you can create your own worlds? Love love love
Sounds like a neat game, the only thing I don't really like is the silly narrative as you described it. But I do like your channel and it looks like this game will be a lot of fun and I bet it will be very successful looks like the devs put a lot of passion and time into this game.
Hello :) Do you have any idea about the Switch release date ? I can't find any clue anywhere 🤔 Thanks in advance ! (Hope you understand me well, I'm French, sorry 😬)
really enjoying this it's definitely got me hooked, i'm determined to actually get far on this one and experience as much as i can, i left stardew valley after very little play time, so will be nice to get further in this.
I understand that the early access version allow player to play for one year in-game time. What happen when one-year in-game time is up? Cannot play anymore?
@@LunaVespertine So there is limited playability in a sense. Like right now, I am virtually running out of things to do in Disney Dreamlight Valley after finishing everything.
the only thing i don’t like is how the camera is set. maybe in the future they will implement another viewpoint? i know it’s the same camera as acnh and stardew but idk it feels a bit too far away for me and i prefer close person one like disney dreamlight valley
I tried to play yesterday but even on lowest settings my PC couldn't handle it and the game crashed twice. I hope by the time I get a new PC (Christmas maybe) the controller support update will be out because I'm absolute trash with the mouse and keyboard 🥲
So the game will only have 4 major patches and then once you are done with your quest the game is over? there will be no continuing updates for the next years or holidays to come like in animal crossing?. from what it looks like its a short game, that i will need to reset the island everytime i want to play it again... did i understand right?
This game looks so fun, I have never played a Farm Sim game before can you recommend a good beginner one for the Switch so I can get the hang of playing this type of game before I buy Coral Island..thanks!!
The best farm sim I've played so far is definitely Stardew Valley. The graphics are very different from Coral Island though since it's pixel art. And it might feel a bit overwhelming at first for a beginner though I think the tutorial is pretty good and there's lots of information online. The Harvest moon series feels like a classic to be had on Nintendo consoles, but depending on the title it's really hit or miss with more misses imo. So I would go for Stardew Valley.
i am sooooo gagging to get my hands on this game it looks so great just from watching you play it i know for sure its going to be wart inmy house when it does come to the switch between me and my youngest daughter on who gets it first to play it will be me buying it as usual but it will be tricky on who gets 1st play i so cant wait for it to come to the switch do you have any idea when that will be i know you said next year but what month do you know by any chance i hope its not to far along in the year i hope its near the beginging of the year fingers crossed i cant paly on comp as dont do wasd no good at it lol prefer the joypad
Do you think it would work well on the switch later or is it too "big" to run smoothly on consoles? I really want to play it but now sure if i should wait or not
I'm currently playing the game on my 7 year old laptop, which struggles with most games but Coral Island runs super smoothly. I predict, that it will run without any problems on the switch
I hate her so much ugh, always telling me how ugly i am every-time i met her, if not, then she’ll just complain about everything, the weather, the island, the people, etc
Well one Kickstarter goal they didn't meet was delivering the game October 2021... And it's incredible that in the year of our lord 2022 we're still using a watering can to water crops. Hoses still haven't been invented?
@@miruz3519 Who said anything about sprinklers? You start with a watering can, don't try to divert the point or play dumb. NO ONE who owns more than 3 plants waters a garden with a watering can. You use a what? A H-O-S-E
Stardew valley is not an original game, it is entirely based off of harvest moon games that are now more than 20 years old at this point. Coral island is also heavily inspired by these games as well and have said they have also been inspired by stardew valley, so there will obviously be some similarities but aside from the crafting mechanics, coral island feels like an entirely different game from stardew valley.
when an INDONESIAN game studio makes a game set in ASIA bc issues abt oil companies destroying the environment is a very serious topic in the country but they also have the courtesy to include all sorts of people in the game including white ass characters bc they're making the game for everyone and not everyone is a white cishet male. thankfully the game's not for you though ❤

I actually agree, diving was a new mechanic for this farming sim game. So the elements in this game has HM+RF+SV+AC = Coral Island
i’m into farming gaming lately, HM is for harvest moon and SV is stardew valley right? what is RF and AC?
@@hombre6604

Waiting for the Switch release, unless I get a steam deck first! Love your video!!
I played some and loved it, but I hope controller support comes soon!
Me too! I’m so bad at mouse and keyboard 😂
Omg this looks sooooo good do we know yet if there will be a physical release or will it be digital only when it’s out of EA
Thanks for introducing this game to us. I having a great time and recommend it to everyone.
It’s a 3D Stardew Valley so I’m really enjoying it so far.
It breaks my heart that it doesn't run on my computer, I can't wait for it to be on switch
I understand that the early access version allow player to play for one year in-game time. What happen when one-year in-game time is up? Cannot play anymore?
I expect there will just be no more progress in the story, but you can just do everything else to gather resources etc.
You can still continue to plant, harvest and the like.
@@LunaVespertine So there is limited playability in a sense. Like right now, I am virtually running out of things to do in Disney Dreamlight Valley after finishing everything.
my list has been narrowed down to 12 bachelors/bacholerettes... here's to many playthroughs :D
next to my wallet you try to ruin my sleep schedule....
you succeeded, not that that is difficult
HAHAHAHAHA
the only thing i don’t like is how the camera is set. maybe in the future they will implement another viewpoint? i know it’s the same camera as acnh and stardew but idk it feels a bit too far away for me and i prefer close person one like disney dreamlight valley
You can zoom in a bit by holding down z
I tried to play yesterday but even on lowest settings my PC couldn't handle it and the game crashed twice. I hope by the time I get a new PC (Christmas maybe) the controller support update will be out because I'm absolute trash with the mouse and keyboard 🥲
So the game will only have 4 major patches and then once you are done with your quest the game is over?
there will be no continuing updates for the next years or holidays to come like in animal crossing?.
from what it looks like its a short game, that i will need to reset the island everytime i want to play it again...
did i understand right?
this is super old and now out of date, I will have a new vid soon covering it
Ill be looking forward to it :)

i cant wait to play that game on the switch it looks really good
Can't wait for this to come to switch
This game sound interesting i might get it on the PC, and I am kinda curious if the game is gonna be multiplayer but I am assuming no.
yes in the future though when the game is out of early access
Thanks for the Video! Looks like a fantastic game 😍 where can I buy it? Its not availabe at the eshop on the switch 🙈
Im thinking of playing it again
So it has been canceled on switch then?
i am sooooo gagging to get my hands on this game it looks so great just from watching you play it i know for sure its going to be wart inmy house when it does come to the switch between me and my youngest daughter on who gets it first to play it will be me buying it as usual but it will be tricky on who gets 1st play i so cant wait for it to come to the switch do you have any idea when that will be i know you said next year but what month do you know by any chance i hope its not to far along in the year i hope its near the beginging of the year fingers crossed i cant paly on comp as dont do wasd no good at it lol prefer the joypad
I hope they introduce controller support as I’m absolutely useless on the keyboard 😭😂
so it only saves at the end of the day? you can't save whenever you want?? 😮
i think i'm gonna get it on ps whenever it's available, i don't think it'll run very well on switch
Is it a two player game
So this works only with a keyboard and a mouse? So I can't just use ps4 controller like with Stardew Valley?
not yet, and update is coming
It’s kinda sucks you can’t play on an azrty keyboard I’m just to play like this I hope they add it soon
I am literally dying waiting for it to come out on switch I don’t play on pc and prefer switch so I think I could die having to wait
now is 28.8.2023 but no coral island in switch
Nope, because it hasn’t even fully released on pc yet, it’s still in early access
Waiting for this to come out on ps4
socializing to people
me: give leah trash every single week
I hate her so much ugh, always telling me how ugly i am every-time i met her, if not, then she’ll just complain about everything, the weather, the island, the people, etc
Getting it when it's on switch
its free to play on game pass
It’s soooooo fun I’m addicted
I'm waiting till they have controller support for disabled people.
also no rebinding for left handed people really is a bummer and seems like it should have been a priority
the ironic thing is, in my opinion Stardew valley is the benchmark for what a bad farming sim is. lol
Johnson Vista
Well one Kickstarter goal they didn't meet was delivering the game October 2021...
And it's incredible that in the year of our lord 2022 we're still using a watering can to water crops. Hoses still haven't been invented?
Huh? I use sprinkler to water my crops tho.. (in coral island)
@@miruz3519 Who said anything about sprinklers? You start with a watering can, don't try to divert the point or play dumb. NO ONE who owns more than 3 plants waters a garden with a watering can. You use a what? A H-O-S-E
@@bluestarkiller you sound angry, oh you must be one of those stardew fan who hates everything coral island lol see ya then
so nobody is going to address that this is a straight up copy of stardew valley
Stardew valley is not an original game, it is entirely based off of harvest moon games that are now more than 20 years old at this point. Coral island is also heavily inspired by these games as well and have said they have also been inspired by stardew valley, so there will obviously be some similarities but aside from the crafting mechanics, coral island feels like an entirely different game from stardew valley.
Hmms . Pass. looks too woke-cultish. nice review.
when an INDONESIAN game studio makes a game set in ASIA bc issues abt oil companies destroying the environment is a very serious topic in the country but they also have the courtesy to include all sorts of people in the game including white ass characters bc they're making the game for everyone and not everyone is a white cishet male. thankfully the game's not for you though ❤
