The struggle that he went through after the separation from Metallica is self evident in his song writing and what he does and I think its beautiful what Dave did! Took what he had and he made the best out of it and he came full circle with me listening and I couldn't ask for more as a fan man! Period!
Was the Fall of '83 when I was a freshman at Marshall University, and the dude across the hall heard me playing Priest, Maiden, or something really loud banged on my door, and handed me a bootleg copy of Kill em All and told me to listen to it...HOLY SHT! Then, a little while later, I bought Deth's Killing is my Business and Business is Good, and Anthrax's Fistfull of Metal. Again, HOLY SHT! Cliff's death hit hard...REAL hard. I'd just seen Metallica open for Ozzy just a few months before, and Master of Puppets was really starting to burn sht down. I already knew who/what Jason Newstead was because I was already long lost in the sauce of Thrash/Speed Metal...and, Flotsam Jetsam. Anyway, I've NEVER subscribed to the "feud" between 'Deth and Metallica (personally, I believe it had it'd been settled and turned into a piece of marketing brilliance years before the fans let it subside). I never got why, or how, it morphed into a "first ballot, Hall of Fame," fk-ery and complete idiocy...We, as music fans, hit the equivalent of a "musical lottery," and were gifted two ridiculously STOOPID iconic and legendary bands instead of ONE...All the "feud" accomplished was to cause a hell of a lot of people to miss out on a hell of a lot of great music. Apologies for all of the ratchet-jawing...if anybody has made it this far lol. Stay well Abimael...
Mateus Ribeiro Maybe I give extra credit because, as a player, I know how difficult it is to synchronize two players to this degree. The fact that this solo isn’t in the studio version furthers my point that, in that respect as well, picking the live version paid off. Does the studio version sound better produced? Of course! Would I generally like them to review studio tracks? Of course, that’s why I said what I said! I can’t bag on them for picking the live version on this one, though, because if that dual lead.
It’s the Metallica/Megadeth paradox!!!! I spent so much time thinking about this as a teenager 😦 I’d rather have Megadeth, they mean more to me but if they never existed I’d never know 🤷♂️
Yeah and I appreciate that band more each day. I think Dave will always be a little bitter though which is to bad cause if we start comparing albums especially in the last 20 years Dave has been killing it. United Abominations, Endgame, Dystopia, The System has Failed I'm mean wow! Good job Dave.
VinAnd Sori bloody oath he did, although it is an acquired taste. I’ve been to many Megadeth shows and loved each one, but I do understand why the vocals can put people off.
Will Willis yeah your right. his vocal on Mary Jane noted one else could do it as good. his voice suits the music. get well Dave. metal needs you .no one does it like you. the Mozart of metal
The solo is just insane ! Glad you chose the live version of this song, Mustaine is a LEGEND But please, we need some Overkill here guys, the live version of Hammerhead would be epic
Yes! There is an official live version from nuclear blast records that totally rips, and your past official live reactions of epica consign to oblivion (nuclear blast), and dimmu borgir - sorry i forgot the song (nuclear blast) didn't get blocked.
Damn it, the video cut right before Al and Dave high five each other after the last notes as the lights go out... That moment was amazing after the perfect double guitar work they did.
I'd DEBATE NICK MENZA RIP IS THE BEST IN HISTORY OF MEGADETH THAT TIME PERIOD WAS HANDS DOWN THE BEST LINE UP FROM 89-97 4 ALBUM STRETCH HOLY SHIT 4 OUT OF 4 ALBUMS ARE MUST LISTEN FIRST TRACK TO LAST
This song is clearly about the stranglehold of heroine and the fact that both Mustaine and Ellefsonn survived and lived to rock another day is awesome. We are blessed to have them both around. Al Pitrelli on lead guitar and Jimmy Degrasso made up o e of my all tome favorite Megadeth lineups. I had been requesting this song for the longest time and now everyone can see why. Listen to Trust and Dread and the Fugitive Mind, both from this live performance.
I remember back in the day when "fans" hated this album, thinking it was Deth's "Load/Re-Load". This album will always hold a special place for me, blasting it while ripping through Final Fantasy VII.
BEST version of "She Wolf", and BEST video and discussion of you two!! By far... HAhahaha! >< 'Love you both! By the way, what Vin said is THE true! I'm with you on this.
Sori has a huge point here Vin, many women are very competitive, especially with men, and many have huge egos they try to feed. That why the bad boy gets the the girl. Hes elusive, mysterious, unobtainable, any girl wants to be the one to "tame" him. Like the alfa lionesses dragging the giant kill back to the pride...
Now you hear Mustaine actually Sing with Some awesome Solo's to Boot.. Don't want to Hear no more about Mustaine not being able to Sing..Vin... MEGADETH Is Thrash Metal...And therefore the reason For Dave's Snarling and Unique Vocals,That he Can Change up at Will....
I believe this song was about the girl of his ex-drumemer. She tried to seduce Dave while she was still with Nick Menza. and Dave was trying to warn him. Like hey this girl is a She-wolf. But the internet wasnt that great back then and we got most of our song backs stories via rumors. So take that with a grain of salt. Or look it up lol.
This is actually off my favorite album Cryptic Writings. Very melodic album and not usually a top favorite for Megadeth fans. This song reminds me of a few of my addictions i've dealt with over the years. My first band i formed in 1999 was called Vortex. 1 of my band mates came up with the name from the Megadeth song off this album. We broke up i went through several bands then we reformed under Udûn.
This line up is very very underrated, my faorite after the 90's era. Drummer is the legendary Jimmy DeGrasso from Suicidal Tendencies. One of my heroes with Lombardo, Hoglan and Mickey Dee.
the other guitar player you see is al pitrelli , shreddin sweet ass licks ,not sure of the time frame when he came in but after marty friedman and before the current lineup , " rude awakening " is a must have dvd yall !!! the dvd that this song is from mmmm
Al Pitrelli from SAVATAGE on the other guitar. You know, Savatage...the band that's had literally tons of requests for a reaction, is one of the most important metal/prog bands, and morphed into Trans-Siberian Orchestra... and Vin & Sori STILL haven't reacted to them >:(
the version never recorded in studio album and its fantastic. In megadeth documentary I listened to the part before the final fast solo and became a fan of Megadeth.
LOL I was gonna comment about how the live version seemed to be played at about 5% faster tempo than the studio version (which kinda grates on my nerves just a little) but that guitar solo/duet and drum solo shut me right the hell up. Totally worth it LOL Peace
The song is about a former manager who Mustaine was friends with and he started dating this woman who used to date another friend of Mustaines who worked for MTV and while the band and manager were in South America Ellefson and Mustaines wives saw her cheating on the manager and she also was hitting on Dave and Dave told his Manager friend what's going on and she told her boyfriend that it was Mustaine who was trying to score with her. Dave got pissed and said I wouldn't hit on you! You arent even good looking! 😆 but he decided to lay her bullshit out and write the song about her and that was that. Kind of a condensed version but sums it up.
I lose my shit everytime I hear the guitar harmony in the middle, it sounds so good. Cheers for doing this reaction. If you want another insane live performance check out Peace sells medley from Italy in 1992. Another song suggestion I got is Rattlehead (Final Kill Remaster)
I subscribed to your channel because of MegadetH reaction video (i think it was "holy wars") and there were 56k subscribers back then. now it's 127k. congratz! nice growth. :-*
Many of us are patiently awaiting more Pain of Salvation reactions. King of Loss, Where It Hurts, The Passing Light of Day (the song), Beyond The Pale, Ending Themes... so many great ones to choose from. Maybe you guys could react to an entire album? If so, my rec would be The Perfect Element, Part I.
this was a good line up during the "world needs a hero" era... this was when Megadeth "returned to their roots" after doing the Risk album... good video! bummed out cause it was cut, though... keep it up guys!
Two videos I feel Vin and Sori would be blown away by. Liquid Tension Experiment- Acid Rain live in LA 2008 Black Label Society- In This River live doom trooping. Calling all my brothers and sisters of metal, can we please make this happen??
Now that you've gotten on the right track with the brilliance that is the Godfather of Thrash, your next video to watch is the live version of 'Blackmail The Universe’ from the "That One Night" DVD. The other lead player was none other that Al Pitrelli of the stellar Trans Siberian Orchestra. The multiple guitarist Dave has used over the years are an astonishing who's who of some of the most technically proficient musicians. Every live song off this DVD is a hit; particularly Dread and the Fugitive Mind, Angry Again, and One Thousand Times Goodbye (Sori, you'll get a kick outta this one!). Well done.
Love you guys, no matter if I agree with your world views or not I absolutely respect your knowledge and open minded opinions. You always challenge the watcher/listener to analyze his or her beliefs. More depth than other reactors. I grew up a Christian of the extreme right, so I know both sides. I like that you explain both sides. And Megadeth is one of the best bands ever, only haters deny that.
When he says "I don't understand how (especially as a man) you let your partner have control over yourself." And a minute later "I won't be the one ending a bad relationship I should have ended a decade ago, because of my 'higher principles'. It must be her ending it." He didn't get that he gave her complete control over the relationship and therefore himself. A perfect example of Vin's self-deception.
Dave Mustaine is currently being treated for throat cancer which his doctors say gives him a 90% chance for full recovery. I don't know how that will affect his ability to sing, but if he chooses not to he could join Metallica and make them relevant again 👍
State of the Art! Nothing sounds better than a snarly sarcastic Mustaine in full flow. Abused, abusive, precise and precisely the way to show how to claw your way back after being kicked off a tour bus in the middle of nowhere with nothing in your pocket and nowhere to go. Every breath since has been to prove that there are two ways. Their way and his way. Here’s to his way🤘🤘🤘
You should do a reaction to Nothing More- Jenny. It is such a good song. It's a song about the singer's sister who suffers from bipolar disorder and has schizophrenic tendencies. She became addicted to drugs as a result of depression brought on by both her mental disorders and the tragic loss of her mother to cancer. Her mom was taking care of her for the last three years of her life before she lost her battle to cancer. This song is very intense and emotional. I believe you'd find this to be a good listen for sure and definitely a good reaction.
Ok guys Cryptic Writings the album which this is from has many songs referring to some women which, so the story goes was someone high up in the record company they where with at the time and apparently was close to the band wasn't all she said she was. Dave doesn't write songs about women, drinking or other subjects along those lines so who ever she is really pissed him off.
Listen to stone cold crazy by queen, last caress & die die die my darling by misfits & breadfan by budgie. These were all covered by metallica in their garage days ep
I have been in a relation with a woman that i was scared of and whom i thought was to be manipulative and not kind-hearted. And i have written i song about it same as Dave Mustaine, different lyrics but also emotional and "dark". But the reason i couldnt step away from this realationship was because the fact that i found that woman so intelligent and clever that i couldnt find any other person to match her level and i couldnt have that level of conversation anywhere else. And the connection between us was not sexual, we were not lovers. 25 years passed by and still i cant get over her. All i try to say is that men can be drown in a relation with a person they are afraid of, because sometimes your mind and heart are occupied with her no matter what you think of her behavior, no matter if you dont accept her attitude to life and men and etc...
Dave wrote this song about his ex Fiance Diana.......................I've seen Megadeth a few times IF Daves throat cancer goes in remission and he can sing again, y'all should go see them live, they are fantastic live!
I remember seeing this live in 98. Dave started out that opening riff super slow and slowly came to full speed over the course of about 30 seconds. Then shit went down with security smacking a fan around and Dave stopped the and walked off the stage only to come back a few minutes later to berate the security guy for bullying the fan in typical Mustaine fashion, then launched the song again mad af.
The studio version guitar Solo is different and simpler, this live version guitar solos and drumm solo are fucking great Dave Mustaine was going through a divorce during the making of the album Cryptic Writtings which was released in 1997, almost the whole album is about releationship issues, but is one of their best albums musically speaking
Jimmy Degrasso and Al petrelli were great additions for be the band. To bad they only were around for a couple albums. But these solos and well the whole rude awakening album live at the Fillmore. Amazing! Have the DVD in my case.
I always enjoyed this song. Venom can be ingested and nothing bad will happen, it has to be injected. Poison is dangerous if touched or ingested, not necessarily injected. Think poison ivy vs snake bite.
Great Deth song. I’ve always taken the more literal interpretation - it’s a cool monster song, and thematically feels like it would fit on Iced Earth’s sensational “Horror Show” album.
Big fan of MetallicA here, but MegadetH is one thousand times more technical. Many prayings for Dave's health
This song ain’t hard to play bro, but I still agree
The struggle that he went through after the separation from Metallica is self evident in his song writing and what he does and I think its beautiful what Dave did! Took what he had and he made the best out of it and he came full circle with me listening and I couldn't ask for more as a fan man! Period!
Hes cured¡ FUCK cáncer¡
Thousand times good bye 'lica

One of the few times the live version pays off. The dual solo they pull off in this song is insane.
Dude plz. Everything awfully equalised. The nice solo is not even from the song.
Check iron maiden every love song is awesome...actually better than the studio version
Mateus Ribeiro Maybe I give extra credit because, as a player, I know how difficult it is to synchronize two players to this degree. The fact that this solo isn’t in the studio version furthers my point that, in that respect as well, picking the live version paid off. Does the studio version sound better produced? Of course! @@DamnTheManInc I love the Cryptic Sounds version also... that is perfect! ruclips.net/video/FyKHn_eryPU/видео.html
the amount of dual leads in this live version is insane. prefer any time over the studio version.
Megadeth wouldn't exist if Dave didn't get kicked out. And that would be a damn tragedy. Everything worked out for the best in the end.
Instead of having one we got two great bands .
It’s the Metallica/Megadeth paradox!!!!
I spent so much time thinking about this as a teenager 😦
I’d rather have Megadeth, they mean more to me but if they never existed I’d never know 🤷♂️

I agree 100%. I always preferred Megadeth over Metallica.
The best coment
Metallica, iron maiden and now Megadeth in the same week. The early days of the channel are back! Yes!
Now need some Slayer!
....pretty shure dave made a tribute to Iron Maiden on this one. ...end guitar is spot on with maidens Transylvania
Now you understand, with this level of playing, why Megadeth fans are so forgiving about his voice.
Ya but he used it perfectly on this track tho
VinAnd Sori bloody oath he did, although it is an acquired taste.
I’ve been to many Megadeth shows and loved each one, but I do understand why the vocals can put people off.
You know, I never mind his vocals. I think it fits the music perfectly.
Dave's voice fits thrash metal.
Will Willis yeah your right. his vocal on Mary Jane noted one else could do it as good. his voice suits the music. get well Dave. metal needs you .no one does it like you. the Mozart of metal
Sori giving a Megadeth song a 9.8. Look how far we've come #justicForPeaceSells
MEGADETH - I THOUGHT I KNEW IT ALL or ELYSIAN FIELDS . His best vocals ever
Addicted to Chaos also. Maybe they could react to I Thought I Knew It All, and then the cover by Elektra after?
One of my favorites. Killer drum solo by Jimmy Degrasso.
Megadeth - Ashes in your mouth -
You WON'T regret it.
NuFF Said.
Yes please! One of my favorite Megadeth songs!
Mokker013 The LIVE version off Blood in the Water CD
Megadeth - Looking Down The Cross
Kreator - Enemy Of God
Enemy of God is a badass video.
This performance of the song is just so bloody good. I can watch it over and over again.
Dave Mustaine is the best!!!
They have another song from the same album called ‚Trust‘
That one was (and still is) one of my fav songs by them
The solo is just insane ! Glad you chose the live version of this song, Mustaine is a LEGEND
But please, we need some Overkill here guys, the live version of Hammerhead would be epic
MEGADETH IS METAL!!!! OH YEAH!!

Yeah thats a weird cut.
Dammit!!!
the alternating guitar solos is so awesome with these guys !!!!
Now please react to I thought I knew it all from megadeth, it has Dave’s best vocals
Or Addicted to Chaos
His voice in blood of heroes ❤
Lars will required ambulance after doing this drum
Megadeth- this day we fight , it’s so thrashy
Rigo Sandoval Fuck yeah, and 1320
Yes...
Thorns Of Crimson Death - Dissection
Gorgoroth - Gorgoroth
Pure Holocaust - Immortal
Curse You All Men - Emperor
World Of Blades - Marduk
Dave is a Legend! One of the all time greats!!
That was absolutely amazing.
Maybe it was mentioned but the video is taken from their Rude Awakening concert dvd...great performances throughout🤘
Jimmy DeGrasso great drummer for Megadeth Al Pitrelli replace Marty very dignified

It broke ground in music video history (so says Eddie Trunk) ..

Dave is great in and out of the studio..... live he is a million times better ....
Elfson with a Fender? What universe is this from.
One of my favorite vids so far! might of got a little side tracked, but entertaining from start to finish
This is the greatest metal band of all time hands down! Multiple lineups but always bring it because Dave is at the helm.
Now you see why Megadeth is the G.O.A.T.!!!🤘⚡👍👌✌❤
Love the solo in this song. I think if they changed the main lyrics in this song it could have been one of their top songs
Yasss!!!
The studio version guitar Solo is different and simpler, this live version guitar solos and drumm solo are fucking great
Dave Mustaine was going through a divorce during the making of the album Cryptic Writtings which was released in 1997, almost the whole album is about releationship issues, but is one of their best albums musically speaking
I see you're a person of culture
Lucas deth lemos I assume that you’re being complimentary and not sarcastic lol
@@shmick6079 I'm not sarcastic at all
