I have watched a couple of videos about this game now, and yours is the only one that has given me any real idea of how the game actually works - and without significant spoilers. Excellently done!
It's great to see the automa at work (and you playing with multiple people!), but if I remember correctly, they suggest when you play WITH automa, you use 2 of them for a better balance. I'm sure it won't matter fo your, but for those interested, it's an interesting note.
Mrs. Whiggins..nice nod to Tim Conway and Carol Burnett! I'm honestly not a big fan of legacy style games, but I have to admit that it could be cool to end up with 2 different boards for 2 different gameplay experiences.
Hi there! QUESTION PLEASE! if I use a character card in one game, should I mark it (colouring the arrow), put it in my charter and never use it again? or can I use it again in the following game? thanks! (looked everywhere for the answer...)
you can use it in a later game if you want to (because you really like the special poewr and think it will lead you to victory), but if you do, you're missing the chance to mark up another arrow on another card, and that will affect your score at the end of the entire campaign :)
Rahdo - getting to where you have 36+ spaces on the board, do you see much AP while players try to work out the most efficient way to score? It seems like having so many places to go with minor differences would lead to a lot of analysis for every move.
as you saw in the runthrough, there's always 3 big objectives chosen randomly each game (plus later on, there's other 'things' that function similarily), which makes some actions more attractive than others in a given game. so for most of the game the AP isn't too bad. towards the end of the game when the clock is running down and you're trying to figure out how to use your last couple of turns, they do get a bit more grindy though :)
yup, there are rules you unlock after the campaign is over so that every time you play, you get a unique setup based on all the things you've unlocked (plus you can keep unlocking things you missed during the main campaign)
Spoilery response as follows: . . . . . . . . . . . . . HALLELUJAH! No zombies! Those are two of the sweetest words I’ve ever heard, dearest Rahdo, they’re like music to my ears - and you just put the you in thank you :) :) :)
21:23 - You mention everyone who comes in '3rd/4th/5th gets 4 points'. Only players who are tied for 3rd will score 4 points. Players who are 4th or lower score zero.
I don't get why you're so excited the entire video. The game looks like lots of looking up card and rules, and doing stuff without knowing what's going to happen in advance, because there's too much going to know what's a good move.
Here I'll help you out since this jerk won't just tell you. Richard and Jen use dummy players for 3 and 4. His complaint is there is no scaling to the board AT ALL. Overtime, there will be 42 places to go for your workers. In a 2 player game the world is so huge, players will probably never cross paths. So zero interaction. He said the designer "missed the trick".
rocaluma I am a big fan of Pandemic. And when I got the first season of Legacy home and read the rules where it mentions not only placing stickers on the board and characters but tearing up CARDS at first I wasn't sure about the whole concept. However it adds such a unique element to a game that in my mind overcame any qualms I had about the"destruction" of the game itself. As matter of fact you're not so much destroying the game as transforming it. I can only assume/imagine that Charterstone is similar. Take a chance and give yourself the opportunity to try at least one leagacy game before you make a final decision.
Pssssst... I took a peek behind those spoiler alert signs and... there was NO content behind them whatsoever! So nobody missed anything, isn't that comforting? ;)
Why did you put spoiler tags when you asked us to leave if we did not want spoilers... Kind of idiotic to put those spoilers tags there then, Sir Richard... Lol
i filmed the whole think thinking it wasn't a big deal to reveal the existence of [spoiler] since it's literally one of the first things you discover, but after filming, i decided that i wouldn't have wanted to be spoiled for me, so i retroactively went through and took every reference to them out. sorry you think it's idiotic... it was a major pain in the ass, took me hours of editing :(
rahdo not the right word Richard, you know me better than that. I meant ironic but just noticed it acc to that. When you do something that major you usually voice over that your doing that but this was one time you just added the video tilting, that's all
rahdo it's all good, Richard. That is why responded "its me" Lol. You've been doing an amazing job since I've first met you and kept up your "firewall" morals so keep on doing what you've been doing, and try to overlook the haters because of... Well, the internet. Because that is what the internet is mostly made of. Also who else do you personally know that has an avatar of them dressed up as Jack Sparrow for thier wedding pictures... 🤔🤣

Rahdo you are a complete class act and do a helluva job with this channel. Great work as usual.
Really love your walkthru, the way you introduced the game really got me interested
I clicked this video so hard! I had no idea it was coming from Rahdo and I am so excited to see more of this game :)

thank you for this video! loved it :) and thanks for the no spoilers :D

there is another character in our world named Dorf, but it would be a spoiler to say who :)

Sounds like the endgame of most every WP game.
YOU ARE AWESOME! ❤❤❤
Thanks, great video! Love the game, love the channel!
Leagacy game, I'm sold
so... is this game still re-playable after the 12 session?
yup, there are rules you unlock after the campaign is over so that every time you play, you get a unique setup based on all the things you've unlocked (plus you can keep unlocking things you missed during the main campaign)
The one thing I like about legacy game is the story twists. Does this game have those?
a bit, yes :)
Please oh please can you answer one, just one, spoilery question: are there, or are there not, zombies in this game?

noted... thanks :)
Thanks for the video. I would have went for Lumber Jill (like Jack and Jill).
i was genuinely torn between the two options, but in the end, i went with jane because i liked the sound of it better :)
Lumber Jaq.
Lumber Jackie?
ARGH! How did i not think of that?!?!!? Perfect!!!!
So, crate number 5 contains a real live dog?! ;)
"Otama"? Do you mean Automata?
"automa" is the word the rules use, short for automaton :)
Ah, ok. I haven't read the rules of the game yet so I was confused. ;) Thanks for the clarification!
Nice to see the whole gang... :)
Very interested in this.
Good video, +1 Subscriber..
I said GOODDAY SIR!!
Hey! Nice to see you not playing by yourself :)

Hahah :) You couldn't get the name right including yourself. 7:31 :D
Nice shirt

Rahdo, Do you recommend this game for two players only? I play with my wife at the 99% of the times.
Greetings from Spain
check his final thoughts out, he answers that question

Wil Wheaton Rule #1...
Thanks MassEffect =) I guess I will not buy it. It's a shame because it seems like a great game =(
Yeah it does. I play often with two so it won't work for us.
Not sure I'd like to stick things permanently on any of my board games. Guess I need to know more about it...

I don’t like the huge spoilers alerts that prevents me from seeing content
i don't like random drive-by criticisms, but we've all got our crosses to bear :)
Fair enough. Huge fan by the way :) Sorry if i sounded harsh
thanks! :)

sorry, i'm getting hit so often by negative stuff these days from so many people, i'm hardly even paying attention to who's saying what any more... :(
