18:10 I forgot to update this key card to have the new build icon. 18:30 Yes, this card gives a coin when you build future buildings (but it doesn't give a coin for itself). Amazing video!
The only thing I wish the "real" game had vs the prototype is the very cool clear turquoise dice in this video. Not sure if the prototype came with those dice or those are just Rahdo's personal dice but the dice in the actual game are black
Wow this game looks amazing! I mean obviously the artwork is impressive but initially when I started watching I thought it seemed to be a rather plain village building game mechanically...but the more you got into it the more impressive and intriguing the game got! Definitely going on my wishlist.
Such a beautiful game, really enjoy the art style. When I first played it I felt the length was too short, but after repeated plays I appreciate the condensed, refined game experience. Watching this has encouraged me to try other Red Raven games, especially if they share the same game universe!
Great runthrough, Richard. I'm really looking forward to this game. I do have one question which may seem silly. What is the blue foam-like material backing the prototype pieces? Is it squishy like foam or is it rigid like foam-core? Thanks for any feedback.
***** Oh, that's fine than, I am also convinced to purchase The Ancient World by your video to get a feel of Ryan's game atm. I already backed this project but just happy to see how the game actually feel
basslover1100 i'd recommend hitting the "remind me" button on kickstarter, to remind you 2 days before the campaign is over via email to check it out. if Ryan's got some better EU shipping options figured out, it will be done by then! :)
Yeah, too bad. 15 minutes into the video I went to KS and wanted to back immediately. But $80 incl. shipping is just too much. Hope Ryan will find a better shipping solution. Or maybe there will be a German(y) release...
I'm sure that, by now, most interested EU parties (myself included) have seen that Ryan's latest gem is now EU-friendly, making the pledge at a much better $60 level (including shipping).
basslover1100 in winter temperature usually hovers around 50 degrees F, or 10 celcius. which some might not consider very cold, but it feel pretty cold to us! :)
Big fan of your girlfriend being a radiator. Not sure where "Jen" really is but I'm willing to just look past that and enjoy your absurd levels of enthusiasm with your heating apparatus.
Haha, sorry. I was picking up a pizza when my buddies left this comment yesterday. They were trying to learn the game before I got back. This game was okay. First time was rough 'cause you got no idea how much a victory point is worth in terms of gold, workers, potions, etc until after your first playthrough. Probably more fun the second time, which I guess is true of a lot.

EU Shipping update ?

"Hello, fish guy."
I so love watching you do these runthroughs!
Thanks for the clear directions and close ups and explanations. It is very helpful!

3:25 LOVELY dice! translucent and very fitting to the colors of the game.

Would be nice if the building cards, when laid side by side, formed a sort of panoramic pic. Kind of like the cards in Jamaica.
Thanks for the video Rahdo. It seems to give a neat overview over how the game plays.
This game is fun! I look forward to my kids getting older so I can play with them!
Oh no, another kickstarter game I might have to back....
Beautiful art, fun gameplay and great theme! Thanks so much for the gameplay!
This game is awesome
This was a really great video, thank you! I think you solidified my decision to get this.
It's my birthday gift. Cool and beautiful.

superjodash i'm not sure... it's how the prototype came. i think it's basically like mousepad material...
Do you use a camera mounted on glasses? The angles look so natural to head movements! (but more stable!)
+Vaughn Reynolds nope i'm holding the camera in my left hand the whole time :)
That's some sweet skill! And I'd like to ask, how do you like Malta?
Can you share your methodology on printing out your copy of above and beyond print and play version ? It looks fantastic the look it already is.
***** sorry, i got a prototype sent to me by the publisher!

If you fail during an explore, do you lose that card, or are you allowed to still build a "below" building, just without the extra goods?
MrHypnofan no success: no card for building on...
***** Thanks!
Is that an oblique Zelda reference at 3:16?
Does anyone know where i can get a pdf of the Explore Book? I need one.
Money coins are round, but all price icons are rectangular. And points icons are more similar to money? Why?
Goratchthemule because it's all prototype stuff :)
Any update on cheaper postage for EU backers?

Yes, saw that and immediately pledged :-)
Very attractive presentation, though the building art looks a little samey.
Arbie8327 it is a prototype. there might be more unique buildings coming for the final game, though i don't really know one way or the other... :)
*****
It looks that way. Loads of different building art on the kickstarter page.
Ryan spoke about this on BGG, stating that each building type (at the least) would have unique art! =D
brrrmanza
Bueno.
Nice video but hate that you call the currency "bucks"

Isnt it similar to caverna in a way??
hmm, not really. dice rolling, story reading, workers work a different way, etc.
Jen is a radiator
she is warm, yes

is jen real?????
