Getting a splinter in your hand can be surprisingly painful, often causing a sharp, stinging sensation that feels disproportionately intense for such a small injury. The discomfort usually starts as a sudden, acute pain as the splinter punctures the skin. Even after the initial pain subsides, a persistent ache and throbbing can continue, exacerbated by any movement of the affected area. This persistent discomfort often stems from the body’s inflammatory response to the foreign object, which includes swelling and redness around the splinter site. The pain can also be heightened if the splinter is embedded deeply or if it is difficult to remove. The irritation can make everyday tasks challenging, as even light pressure on the area can intensify the pain. Additionally, if not properly treated, a splinter can lead to infection, which compounds the pain and discomfort with additional symptoms such as increased swelling, heat, and pus. Overall, the seemingly minor issue of a splinter can have a surprisingly significant impact on your comfort and daily activities, underscoring the importance of promptly addressing and removing such injuries.

We got him surgery and had a metal rod drilled through each leg to hold the bones in place so they healed. 4 months later he got this giant swelling on one of his legs. Looked like a giant balloon. Then one day a little piece of something was sticking out. It was a peice of his shattered bone that the body just slowly pushed out on its own. The body is just crazy.

Imagine this, if your mom just bought a nice white rug and you wanted to come in side to rest but your mom won’t let you because your feet are muddy, is this wrong? The same is with God. We are filthy in His sight because of our sin: disobeying our parents, using God’s name as a cuss word, swearing, lusting, lying, stealing, etc.
But I am not going to Hell, I’m going to Heaven and I’ll tell you how you can too!
God **loves** us so much, more than a mother can love her child. God sent his only Son to earth for our sake. Jesus Christ came to this world and lived a life without breaking God’s law. Even though Jesus did nothing wrong, he was tortured and killed, for our sake. God did this all because he **LOVES** us.
God sent His only begotten Son Jesus Christ to Earth in human form to live a perfect life with sinning once. Because of this Jesus was able to take our punishment. Jesus lived a life preaching about sin, Hell, forgiveness, and Heaven; later being anointed by an unnamed woman.
Jesus **suffered** for our sin. He was whipped, cut, beaten for our sake. He was crucified for us **that we may live**. Jesus then was resurrected, being the only one in the Bible. He rose from the dead the third day to prepare a place for us in Heaven (John 14:2-3)
Anyone who admits Jesus is God being sinless, believes on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ as their only way to be saved from Hell, and believes he rose from the dead the third day, **will be saved**

My Mum was climbing over an old rusted and painted fence as a kid. She fell and hit her chin. A splinter of greeny-blue ish dried paint stuck below her lower lip. She has it since then. Nothing more happened. No emergency, no inflamation, no trauma. Probably she forgot about it and remembered when I asked. Now I remember and she probably forgot again.

I work at a lumber mill. Eventually, your hands get so tough that most of the time, splinters only barely break the skin. Alternatively, they get stuck, but you have to just work through it till you have time to address it, and if you're working with oak, it stings more than anything.

I used to be a wood worker, and got a nasty oak splinter embedded in the palm of my right hand. It shattered under the skin and there were two large pieces left in my hand, and I was unable to reach them. I sat in my car after work trying in vain to dig them out with a sterile pin, but it was no use. A few days later I had a red welt the size of a plum on my hand, and it felt a burning pain constantly. I rubbed some polysporin on it, and when the swelling went down, I could see one of the pieces. I removed it, but the one ahead of it was still deep inside, and I was shaking with pain. A couple days later, the second piece worked it’s way to the surface, and I removed it. It took another week for my hand to heal up, and it left me with a weird round scar on my palm.

Idk how deep they went in your skin but for me every time I got a splinter I take it out. I can't live with the idea that my body is being damaged and I just sit there not doing anything 😄. Sometimes the splinters are too small to even be seen clearly and most of times I used a nail clipper to get them out.

well, he forgot to point out that the longer the splinter is under the skin the more likely it is for bacteria, viruses and other pathogens to get into your body.
What he says about the bodies reaction is what usually happens, but an infection is not ideal. Get it out as soon as possible and keep the wound clean.

If the splinter has gone deep and cannot be picked up with tweezers, then you can pick out the place with the sharp end of a needle and the splinter can be easily pulled out. I've been doing this since childhood.

I always use a new utility knife razor blade, mainly because mine are usually metal. Dig around the sliver and then the blade will cut into the side of the sliver enough to pull it out, works way better than a tweezers that's for sure.
