- In this video, we'll tell you about our crazy escape from the worst floods in 100 years in Italy in our motorhome.
We had no idea when we arrived by ferry Italy that the weather would turn so bad. But when the rains started pouring and the flooding started, we knew we had to get out of there as quickly as possible.
Our motorhome was our best friend during our escape - it was able to navigate the dangerous flooded roads and get us to safety quickly. We're so glad we were able to get out in time - and we can't wait to go back and explore all of Italy in style though!
The free power in Italy is amazing. We found a lot of sostas with free power. We were very impressed with the Italian sostas. Great video... thanks!
That was the first one we found in Italy, but we are so so pleased to hear there are more! Thanks for watching
Wow the floods were devastating! Such a shame for the people 😢. Uk really needs to start doing more the same as Europe. We said this while we were in France. No wonder people go overseas. Thanks for sharing 👍
I know, if only the UK would wake up to the possibilities. Ih well it just ‘forces’ us to head into Europe more 😉
Well done guys,.so unlucky in Italy. Love the laid back attitude.. Keep getting that A-class stuck and that drone lost. ❤💚😎👌
Thanks for watching! Yes we were disappointed to miss Imola.
😂😂 those two things do seem to be a recurring theme
God really bad in Italy. Great service station camp site.
Great info guys xx
Thanks both! Hope you are keeping well 😊
Another informative Vlog, nasty floods..Keep em coming..
Thanks so much for watching and leaving us a comment ❤
Wow the floods are really done a lot of damage. So glad you were ok.
We were fine thanks, just a bit shocked to witness it all
Hi corrin and Paul 👋 just us 2saying hi ❤👋 thanks again for sharing this video update 👍 whish we had those service stations and Aires in the UK. 👋 say safe say well and enjoy your travels 👋den and sue 👍👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🚌🚌🚌
Hi Den & Sue,
I know wouldn’t it be great if UK could offer as much as Italy.
Thanks for watching and checking in ❤️❤️❤️
Hope you get to tour Italy one day and enjoy all the sites.
We had a couple of weeks touring the north of Italy and Venice in Autumn last year but we really want to go and do a whole trip in Italy all the way down to Sicily
Wow 😮those floods were devastating.. do like there services and we all know you guys are the king of free 😊 . Shane the uk can’t get more like there with these aires
😂😂 you know we love anything free! Wouldn’t it be great if the UK service stations offered a similar free service.
Thanks for watching guys ❤❤
@@redsgotravels and we was super impressed another vlog and Paul didn’t get the van stuck 😂😂
@@FieldviewAdventures 😂😂😂 here’s some good news! In January we plan to go down to the Sahara… imagine all the chaos he can cause with all THAT sand 😂😂😂😂
Great to see you're ok in the floods, we didn't know you needed a plate on the back box so thanks for that, we'll get one for Europe next year 💕 Aires are brilliant, I said to Gary "I'd be worried about splashback on that black waste emptier" and he goes "oh would you babe...sitting in the front seat" 😂😂 never emptying that 🤢 Looking forward to Austria or Germany, lots of love Julia and Gary Xx
😂😂 I have my beautiful assistant attend to that delight. Thanks for watching xxx
@@redsgotravels ❤️
Wow what a time you guys have had to then get to Italy for that horrible & upsetting scenes!! 😱😬 Glad to hear that you guys didn't get caught out too badly in that horrible weather!! Good luck with the next part of the trip!! 🤞🏻👍🏻
Thanks Dave! Yes we stumbled right into that mess. Poor Italy.
On the bright side we got extra time in Germany though
Thanks for watching

@@redsgotravels What an absolute dork I am hehe?? 😆 I get it now?? 🙄😆👍🏻😁
😂😂🤦♀️❤️
Love France ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Us too! ❤️
Poor Italians 😢 your braver than I would be when it’s thundering !! Can’t believe the dogs went 20 hours without a pee! Great video guys and what was that Italian Aire like wow !! We really do need the UK and IOM to look at this - it’s mental we don’t have anything like this 😢 xxx ❤
If the UK woke up and provided facilities then tourism would be boosted in towns etc. shame.
Thanks for watching both xxx
@@redsgotravels I know they really can’t see the wood for the trees in the UK it’s just a jealousy brigade instead of seeing the bigger picture !! Xxx
Wow! The devastation the floods caused 😢 The ‘sosta’ (spelling??) looked great! The service station was a bit fancy Nancy with the flushing grey waste 😂 Such a shame you had to cut Italy short 🚍☀️
It was a fabulous service station, the Mountain View’s were great, we love Italy for motorhomes, they make it so easy ❤
Thanks for watching ❤❤
Try a place called Livigno on the Switzerland /Italian border, think the place is called camping pergamont or something. One of the most beautiful places I’ve been to in a Motorhome but you have to pay € 20 to get in the place as it’s a tax free haven, derv is well cheaper than the rest of Europe. Regards nick
Thanks for the tip Nick, I have saved it for when we are back in the area! We love getting recommendations ❤
We have just traveled over to Crete (holiday home)with our dog & motor home first time ever to travel in motor home
It took the best part of 6 days
It was a love/hate experience
We are wet behind the ears with motor home travel
I only did because I didn’t want our dog to go into boarding kennels while we are out in Crete
This is the route we took
Folkestone to Calais
Then into Belgium
Then Luxembourg
Then back into France (Alsace)
Across over to Switzerland
Then drove down the east coast of Italy to get ferry at Brindisi over to Igourenitsa
Then drove thro Greece to get to Athens for ferry to Heraklion (Crete)
On both ferries we booked the pet cabin rooms to sleep 4 family members
The ferries were quite expensive, €900 in total for both
Has anybody GOT. A better route to take going back from Crete to Folkestone
I would very much appreciate
Thanks
The only route we can offer is the one we took through Romania and Bulgaria, although it is a long way
Thank you for your reply
I do enjoy watching your uploads
You could say, you both Inspired me to travel with my dog
I didn't want to put her in broading kennels
I'm still undecided with my love affair with motor homing
Flying is much convenient to get to our holiday home in Crete
