She was awesome! I noticed how she would lock eyes with the other members, too -- something I never would have thought about until last weekend when Bruce Spizer said the same about Ringo Starr -- basically, maintaining lines of communication and being in sync with everyone. Something I read somewhere implied that she's basically their touring drummer but Dani might still be in use as their studio drummer. Sam's Wikipedia entry has some serious credentials...former touring drummer for Hole, I think Motley Crüe off the top of my head...
@@scatteredfrog The Surfrajette's Samantha Maloney isn't the same Samantha Maloney that was in Hole and Motley Crue. Although she still has serious cred, check her out by searching for Kalli Horse for starters. Our Sam first played with The Surfrajettes for two gigs in 2017 before Anna Liebel's tenure, there's two videos out there, look for Dieter Bus's Cameron House's recordings.. I wouldn't expect to see Dani Nash record with them again, that was because of the pandemic and because Anna left. I'd expect Sam to be there in all capacities.
@@redrick8900 Give her the benefit of the doubt. She had insane energy and the few mistakes she made were almost unnoticeable. She might have been a little anxious, I think.
Drummer is going apeshit on the drums, the bassist doesn’t miss the groove and that guitar tone is phenomenal. These girls are the new Ventures. Someone give them some Mosrites.
Plus all are great musicians and beautiful girls congrats 🙌 much better than some billion shows productions yeahhh Surffajettes when do you girls come to Portugal 🇵🇹? Europe ?
I was at this particular show. Awesome performance, and that drummer was on fire the whole night, especially on a couple of other faster songs. She was putting it down like Dave Grohl on drums.
They def had a slightly harder edged sound when we saw them in Cleveland, compared to the other shows I've seen over the last few yrs. Olivia, the fill in bassist, prob had something to do with that. Nice gals, fun show!
Had to check out another recent vid of my favorite surf band. Fantastic, as always. Btw, seems like this band goes through drummers like Spinal Tap...lol.
Yes, agreed. Amazing that the ‘older’ lady gets more compliments than t’others. Sam comes second (superb at her instruments) before the lead/rhythm pair (who are pretty damn good with swapping from lead to rhythm).
We had great seats - second row. Just a fantastic show from start to finish! Watching the Surfrajettes makes me want to pick up my guitar, something I've been doing much too little of lately.
Nope. The Surfrajette's version is actually titled "Satan's Holiday." Kind of like how David Shire's rendition of "Night on Bald Mountain" is called "Night on Disco Mountain." They used a little Griegian poetic license.
That old man probably gets their music more than anyone else there. Are you kidding? He'll probably actually buy their albums. Don't knock old people. Not cool at all.
8 out of 10. The bass kept getting overrun. On a set like that, the bass should be, if not the king, at least the Secretary of War! Check out some of the Bobby Fuller Four hits to see what I mean -- they could have done without one of the six-strings, but not the bass.
I hope they can lock this drummer in. While the previous drummers were all good, this girl is on another level. They are much tighter because of her.

She is my least favorite. She botched the crescendo. She did three fills in Toxic and slapped the sticks together on two of them.

@@OtavioFesoares I said least favorite. Over all I still enjoy what she's doing.
I love this drummer. That ending.... gosh... never seen it in my life of a band musician. Suuuuuper good. I love when she turns insane... I love it.
There aren't enough instrumental rock bands in the world. As both a rock and surf music fan, The Surfragettes are such a breath of fresh air.
Drummer is going apeshit on the drums, the bassist doesn’t miss the groove and that guitar tone is phenomenal. These girls are the new Ventures. Someone give them some Mosrites.
Holy cow, this band plays HOT! Sam Maloney's explosive drum playing supercharges this band!
Somebody help make this group really popular. Thank you.
they deserve it
I love me some Surfrajettes !! The new drummer rocks and the bass player is super cool.

@@69fastfuriousWhat's the bass' name.?
@@uprebel5150 why do you ask me ? Just saw the RUclips video clip plus not American but music is universal !
Bass player name it’s Sarah Butler 😉

I was there too! That’s me whistling loudly at the beginning. And you’re right…Sam is absolutely amazing.
A particularly rockin’ performance. Love this band!

Drummer is killing it and the band is great
LOL you must know the drummer. Nothing great happening there.
4 extremely talented chicks looking cool and playing 60’s rock!? Come on man, how’s that not special!?
@@garyking6365 lol, nonsense.
Their New drummer Samantha Maloney is amazing.
This drummer is the best.
Awesome drummer 🥁 kick ass babe ! Hell yahhh nice medley 💯🎸🥁✌️🙌
This drummer improved the band value!
The best current surf band!
Thank you S jettes! 3 lead guitarists! (Complimented the drummer elsewhere!)
I love that ending to Toxic.
Magic drummer!
The first song is amazing. It has something deep blue and sorrow,it could name it tears of the serfer also.I love it.
Beautiful and talented ladies no doubt

Did not expect an Edvard Greig tribute from a surf band! Really clever stuff!
Can't beat surf music and LEGS
Toxic/Satan's Holiday. The end of the tour but the beat goes on. They play at Hamilton ON this Friday evening.
Good fyking grief, you're right...don't know why I thought that was "Banzai Pipeline"...thanks!

I really like Banzai Pipeline!
Great encore to an amazing show! I guess I need to get some powder on my big 'ole bald head to keep the glare down for you folks in the back!
Three thumbs up 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Awesome good band!
Excelent the new drummer
Awesome job! Everyone really got into the ending! The audience feeds off your energy so keep on giving it like your drummer does! ❤
Hello girls! I'm from Argentina and a big fan of your work. I would love to see them live sometime. Greetings from the end of the world!!
Hola soy argentino tambien y me encanta esta banda !
I like em, talented muso's 👏
Fun!

I’d like to go- go dance in a cage when I hear this...I’m 70:)
I remember minis and hot pants and boots 😊...wonder if they ever get to so cal?

That drummer’s style is so reminicent of Bonham and Grohl… She’s an incredible fit for the band.
She reminds me of Keith Moon.
@@JJMMWGDuPree fair enough.
Not that I'm against them, but it sure is refreshing to see a group of young girls NOT covered in tattoos.
Yes completely agree! I get tired of the trashy look being cool.
Check out Samantha Fish
has a touch of messure chups
And they do classical music…
Is that a new bass player?
Naaaah. Sarah's been with 'em for a while. Sam Malone, the drummer, is new though.
Should be titled Toxic/ In the Hall of the Mountain King
