Thanks for sharing. My first and only time in Guilin and Yangshuo was 2000, I was just the age of your kids now. It was my first time flying and it raised me a hobby of traveling around, even being hopelessly romanticism. I am now laying on the sofa of a hostel in Patagonia and being far away from home, it all begins with that trip 25 years ago.
One intersting fact about Guilin - in order to protect the natural scenaries of the city, it has a law that limits the height of buildings, therefore you won't see as many high rises in Guilin compared to other chinese cities. That was a wonderful law.
I don't want China flooded with foreigners, just enough some decent people to show and tell the world what China is really like. Don't make China like a huge commercial Disneyland.
Money isn't everything, don't go there just because it's affordable, enjoy the peace, safety, harmony, culture, people, infrastructures, food, ebikes....
I know your family lives in Hong Kong. I would like to know if you use your own country’s passport to enter mainland China with a tourist visa, or do you only enter mainland China with a Hong Kong Citizen Return Permit like Hong Kong people? Thanks!
I think I will go there to start a national guided tour of China for English speaking foreigners, take tourists to many different cities and places, but it will be one year tour. 😂
I don't understand why you guys still haven't visited Jiuzhaigou valley, Huanglong, and Mount Siguniang in Northwest Sichuan. These places are far more beautiful than Guilin. Compared with Jiuzhaigou, Guilin is like a slum.
Jiuzhaigou is beautiful, and so is Guilin. They are both included in UNESCO's Natural Scenic Heritage. The scenery they present is different, so don't be so extreme!
When China first opened to foreign countries in the 1980s, Guilin and Jiuzhaigou were the earliest tourist attractions. Nowadays, Guilin is still well-known to Westerners, while Zhangjiajie seems to have replaced Jiuzhaigou. In fact, the scenery of the latter is unique in the world

Don't forget you are also living in China, it's China Hong Kong. So you actually went to mainland China for vacation 😊
I see many westerners in this video. I think the visa free travel is working to get more people to travel to China.

The best way go to Yangsuo to by ship from Guilin. The best view is along the river , you would see the beautiful and special mountains on the ship.
Wish I can travel to mainland China soon!
beautiful , peaceful
the daughter is so open minded. I could already tell what she will be doing in adulthood. Also obvious where she gets it from.
Thank you your generous and hospitality too, you are "Hao Ren (means Good man)".

Thank you so much to share my hometown, welcome to Guilin ❤
Do you know what's Guilin most famous vegetable? Water chestnuts! Got to try it when you are here.
And TARO! They make nice dishes with taro and chicken
It’s more rain in April. It is the best weather in May or November in Guilin and Guangdong where are located in southern of China.
The most beautiful natural landscape in China is Jiuzhaigou in Sichuan Province.
wise choice as far as cost of living is concerned🎉
Money isn't everything, don't go there just because it's affordable, enjoy the peace, safety, harmony, culture, people, infrastructures, food, ebikes....

Guilin is also amazing place.
