I decided to make a "holiday" song by sampling an old christmas tape I found. I used the C-1 tape player to slow/pitch the tape down and then sampled parts of it to a tape loop on my 4 track recorder. I then performed these tape loop parts and the sampled tape itself into a holiday themed, improvised ambient piece. Ho ho hope you enjoy it!

The fire through the echo was a brilliant idea. Those popping sounds work perfectly with fx.
yeah i was recording the fire sound to tape and then figured fuck it I should just pull up the youtube video and play it through all the effects!

Late to the party -- are you using the porta02 as a 6 channel mixer? 4 knobs for the tracks on the tape in it, and the 2 faders for the library of congress player and your phone?
this is wonderfull !! could you explain what do you do on the casetter you are using to sample? i know how to make small casette loops with just one reel, but i see that what you are doing is different.
