Natlan's plot if I had to describe it, would be a story with the best start since we weren't chased or imprisoned in other countries, but it ended rather sadly with Capitano's passing 😢

I don't think natlan's story is over yet the gnosis is still with archon , we still haven't been to the collective of plenty and the world quest and we still don't anything about Vanessa's tribe and the children of murata if it isn't a mistranslation
The main story is end. Obviously they are not going to stop releasing stories for Natlan, but these will possibly be more secondary or outside the history main line, until sneshnaya comes out .

Excellent work shortening such a lore-packed Chapter V archon quest. Great summary. Any stranger can look at it and get the general gist of Natlan's plot. That said, a few discrepancies with this summary that I would like to point out: 1. Tenoch: Poor Tenoch. You were exiled, then brought back. Gathered the six heroes. Died with the greatest shaman. Could never be resurrected. Forever forgotten by Mavuika's Animated Short and CatWithBlueHat's video here. 2. Thrain: The video is diligent to present Natlan's version of Thrain such that you could never tell that he had anything to do with "the Captain" - which is a nice way to tell a story, btw. So the video does not say that Thrain lived through 500 years with a painful curse and bearing wailing souls (again, it takes a lot to skip such details in making a summary). That said, "the Captain" never revealed himself as 'Thrain' directly at that scene (06:15), and the cutscene in the archon quest had him called 'the Sentinel Knight'. We made the connection ourselves. His identity as Thrain was confirmed afterwards at the monument by Mavuika and another lady. 3. (06:22) "...since his "soul weight" was acceptable, Yohualtecuhtin also agrees." Um, you meant to say Ronova, right @CatWithBlueHat? 4. (06:45) "As an alternative to this, The Captain wished to be merged with Yohualtecuhtinto." First of all, typo noted. Secondly, it was not an alternative. If I understand it correctly, Capitano came to merge his soul with Yohualtecuhtin because it was the only way to change the rules of the Night Kingdom for foreign souls to be accepted. This merging of his soul with Yohualtecuhtin required taking his soul out from his body (death, that is). Now, Capitano intended to do this as Mavuika's substitute, thereby paying Ronova's price of death because of his acceptable 'soul weight'. In doing so, he put the Ruler of Death in "check" (imagine chess), where the Ruler of Death had to make a choice between only two options - remove the curse, or remove the price of death. In short, what I'm saying is, Capitano being merged with Yohualtecuhtin was always going to happen. It is how Ronova was cornered. Thirdly, and this may not matter, but who's doing the merging? Because it's most certainly not Ronova. All in all, a great summary. Can't imagine selecting which detail to skip and which one to include in the video. Even the statements in the video had to be up to a certain length without further explanation. P.S. This comment wasn't supposed to be this long. Clearly I can't summarize like Cat. As to why the Abyss Order didn't intervene, one Abyss Lector mentions that any power they[Abyss Order] cannot harness is considered a threat to them, which means the sentient Abyss in Natlan is no exception. Of course, there were Abyss Lectors were encountered but none of them mentioned anything about the Abyss Order or even their leader[Abyss Twin].
In itself, the Abyss and the Order of the Abyss are not the same nor are they on good terms from what I understand. Since the Order of the Abyss is composed of people from Khaenri'ah who are only loyal to the twin.
Yeah, but chapter 5 is really long, especially act four and five is almost 4 hours long if you combined a total that results into 8 hours it’s a good thing between updates. I had to finish the remaining character story quests to take a good break.
Overall the story is great, especially the active war against the abyss and what it costs. But I feel like the characters were kinda more in the story rather than driving the story, felt like they lacked that big presence (Navia, Neuvillete, and Furina in Fontaine, the main cast in Sumeru was great as a collective especially when they all came together for the Nahida rescue, Raiden as the big powerful end boss considering how hard she was to fight for me, Zhongli as the main face in Lyiue, and Venti and company in Monstand do their job well as almost a DnD party) Tbf I liked a lot of the tribe quests, especially Xilonen, Chasca and Citlali (Kinich I liked mostly for Enjou). They weren't afraid to really dig into the theme and how the characters react to what is happening. For the main story I was mostly interested in Citlali and Ororon (Also Kachina) since we spent most of our time with them. Mavuika and the Captain especially feel quite underused. Their conflict feels like it almost didn't happen and feels more like a setup to introduce a more interesting character Ororon. Both Mavuika and the Captain have lo little screentime I felt little for Mavuika when she was about to sacrifice herself since we don't get to truly know her and the Captain was able to get something out of his last moments due to how good the VA was, the scene was actually interesting (since it was a match between Rovova and the Captain where none did back down and the end was genuinely moving). Citlali, Kachina, and Ororon are the best IMO from the Natlan cast. Both Citlali and Ororon have great dynamics as the terrifying shaman (but very tsundere) and mysterious helper of the Captain turn into a friendly and goofy gardener with a healthy appreciation for his vegetables (and aphids), the fact that we get an entire voice event with those two does help too :). Kachina is just a great character who is the focus of almost the entire 5.0. Chasca didn't click with me that much until her tribe quest and her YT videos. The fact that Iansan was so underused despite being the face of Natlan from Travail is kinda sad. The fact that every teaser video for Archons was so unique was perhaps too high a bar for Mavuika Venti was literally a poem Zhongli showed his spending habits and his generosity since he was the god of Mora and used it in the video to appreciate great craft and to enrich others Raiden showed her more intimate side of how time has worn away her friends and turned her into the foe we encountered in Inazuma, it showed the sad picture of a God left all alone without her friends and only a cold ruler desiring only Eternity Nahida's was just plain old sad and depressing showing what she wanted, the Sumeru main cast celebration, what she had, the fake Subzerus with the citizens, and the truth, the imprisonment, or if you look at it backward the past, the present and the future and essentially how we later rescue her and celebrate Subzerus Furian was just peak, a great mix of playful and mysterious interaction at the start and the true pain of the prophesy coming true in later half, I think that video was the tipping point in Furian becoming truly beloved character. Mavuika's teaser is very similar to Citlali's in that we see the effect that time has on their loved ones: Mavuika had to leave her family while Citlali has to endure others just passing from old age. The difference feels more like how much more time we spent with Citlali and got to know her while we never spent any significant moments with Mavuika. Even when she burned all those mementos to save us from the abyss we just go over it with just 2-5 lines at most. We never get a moment from the teaser that is truly unique and fitting to Mavuika alone since most of the Natlan storyline we get that she is strong, a good leader, and capable. And that's it. No Venti's fun side, no Zhongli's serious and honest deals with controls and deep wisdom, no Raiden's menace and hidden meaning behind it, no Nahida's youthful optimism combined with her despair over her imprisonment and helplessness, no Furina's fun moments combined with genuinely touching and sorrowful moments. Mavuika is strong and that's it (and there was potential for her aspect of war: brilliant tactics, charismatic leader capable of winning over enemies, deep insight about the abyss and so on.) We get hints of it, and we see results but we rarely see any screentime in game other than her feats of strength. She feels like a powerful Archon rather than the Archon of War.
There is something that I want to add(and I am confused). If I am not wrong the first battle between phanes/shades and the dragon pyro didn't destroy the ley lines , because the pyro dragon fake his dead and hide. Later this dragon plan to use the power of the abyss to defeat the heavenly principals, in the process the pyro dragon make a several damage to the ley lines. And later Xibalanque really kill him this time. After that the story follow as we know the pact between Xibalanque and ronova Correct me if i am wrong

Natlan isn't disconnected, but rather have "bad internet". Irminsul still acknowledge Natlan. If it were disconnected, We wouldn't have Ley Line Blossoms in Natlan
One thing is wrong. It's Ronova didn't remove his curse of Immortality from Captain still making it a Paradox for Ronova. If Captain curse of immortality is removed it means Heavenly Principle will punish Ronova. And Night Kingdom will be defeated not endless infront of Abyss.
Kinda curious about you guys take about "Muratan". There's a possibility that "Muratan" is a lost tribe. The War with the Abyss is so catastrophic that The Wayob or The Lord of The Night Kingdom needed to erased "Muratan" history on the face of Natlan to save Natlan Ley Lines, just like Rukkhadevata delete herself to save Irminsul. So, i think this is the Event where Natlan Ley Lines are disconnect from other region. Although Muratan is a miss translation and The Children of Pyro Archon could be the right one. The Children of Pyro Archon is sick name for a Tribe. Edit: Looks like the correct translation is Munata. Basically "Mu" meaning Children of or Decender of. It's from african language and nata is basically Natlan. So, maybe Children of Natlan is the right translation.

Them using it just feels SO out of place, you know? 🤔
It's basically the work of Xilonen, the genius inventor of the current Natlan age. Every modern-type tech used by the characters (Xilonen's boots and DJ set, Chasca's gun, Mavuika's bike) was made by Xilonen, and she found a way to make it use phlogiston as an energy source, which is why it's far more efficient inside Natlan compared to outside. Since Xilonen is basically a single person inventing and creating these things, there's no way for her to mass produce them (unlike say Fontaine where they have factories to produce the gardemeks). So the tribes have to work with what they have
@@Kaze02se Just to correct that, Mavika's bike wasn’t made by Xilonen, she only modified it. The Flamestrider is a weapon tech passed down by previous Pyro Archons from generation to generation. As far as I know, it was Xbalanque who first obtained the weapon from the ancient dragons

@@MocktailsAndIce if you check out the Flamestrider tab in her story lines or the wiki, the Flamestrider wasn't an exact one for one copy from a single blueprint; it was basically pieces put together using a base of dragon-tech. Xilonen still had to figure out how to get them to work, engineer the parts, smith them together, and make it all work.

am i the only one not understanding what was the point of waiting for 500 years for all six heroes to appear if it only granted temporary "invincibility" for all natlan warriors, which did help push back the abyss (which only emerged due to the heroes' gathering lol), but did not, in any way, affect the final battle? It feels like at any point in the past 500 years any pyro archon could just go to the night kingdom and eradicate the abyssal corruption on their own (while Mavuika did it with the traveler, im not sure how much that actually affected the fight. Traveler's fight against arlecchino clearly showed how weak they are, and abyssal purification wasn't used in the final battle afair)

Great summary. Natlan was my most anticipated region in Teyvat. I'm not that much overwhelmed by the Archon Quest, world quest are so good though, but it's just perfect for me as it is. A sad but Great ending for the Captain or I would say Chadpitano. I'm not a fan of Fatuis but he's the exception. Suffering like that for 500 years is too much for a human. I can't believe how he maintain his humanity with that curse. He helped Natlan a lot as well by becoming the sustainer of the Night Kingdom by taking advantage of his curse of immortality
I’ve already beaten chapter 5 there’s no need for me to go through the whole story in 10 minutes, but man chapter 5 was long as Fontaine because chapter 5 act 4 and act 5was almost 4 hours long
To my understanding, the traveler has to be a member of the six tribes to be able to merge Mavuika's power. Later, he receives the ancient name, which designates him as part of Natlan, therefore he can fight with Mavuika. As for why he fights with Mavuika, I think it's simply because he's the main character. It would be strange if he weren't present for such a climactic event.
if im not mistaken, Mavuika was originally thinking to go alone to face the Abyss but then a new variable (Traveler) comes and they have a unique power and somehow almost cant be corrupted by Abyss + Traveler got an Ancient name. Also Mavuika said ordinary person, even those with Vision(have more powerful body defense against the Abyss corruption) would be corrupted and killed instantly and Mavuika doesnt want to risk any more deaths
the timeline between xbalanque and mauvika is kinda confusing to me cause when xbalanque create his deal with god of death, did he die there and then appointed mauvika as a succesor. Cause on the voicelines of the ARCHONS they mentioned her(mauvika) like they met her or knew her but the when cataclysm occur xbalanque is still the archon.
Does anyone know why Xilonen didn’t die when she forged the ancient name for the traveler? I remember her and Citlali having a conversation about how she would have to sacrifice herself to forge that ancient name for an outlander. Am I missing something or did they totally abandon this plot line?
There's one simple answer. Playable characters won't die as long as you're playing genshin. Sadly only in the honkai series (maybe even zzz), you can expect a playable character to die...meanwhile in genshin they're simply scared to do that...

Natlan's AQ confused me the most among the nations. It felt like there's so much to remember. Sacred Flame, Leylines, Lord of the Night, God of Death, 500 years, memories, Xbalanque. Ochkanatlan, Sage of Stolen Flame, etc.

there is one thing that bugs me, and it's why did hoyo write a story centered around the importance of Traveler getting an ancient name so they get resurrected if they die in Night Kingdom, spend 3 patches building up to that moment, only for it to become redundant because the Traveler didn't die in the final battle against Gosoythoth and the Ode of Resurrection didn't even come into effect in the final showdown. It's just so weird. There is definitely something fishy going on here, like this whole thing feels like a loose end rather than a case of "bad writing". I mean, Mavuika still has her Gnosis and we still got one tribe left to go to, not to mention the chronicle is not filled yet, and obviously Natlan's story isn't officially finished until the Tsaritsa takes the Gnosis. Also, what was supposed to be the secret that Pyro Archon would share with us? And what about the censored name in Pyro Gemstone? They also teased Dottore infiltrating Natlan, after we've learned from a dev that Dottore burning Irminsul is a future plot line, and Natlan's leylines (which are the roots of Irminsul) just got fixed and connected to other nations... what are they cooking

Pyro Traveler will defeat Columbina. As for Dottore, I don't know. But Traveler fought with much more dangerous opponents, like Narwhal, Raiden, and showed himself worthy there. The defeat from Arlecchino is a marketing ploy. CatwithBlueHat is just a Captain/Faiui fan. They all dislike the Traveler.
Yes since both of them are currently on Nod-Krai but I think Dottore would fit since he very sinister and cunning when it comes to negotiation that Mavuika would'nt stand a chance.
Remember one thing. All element traveler should be on the level of a god so around 86% and columbina is the weakest of the top three harbinger so it would be an high diff fight probably.

From what the Sunset animated short shows, it seems that she went into the Sacred flame just after their battle ended, when Tupac brought her to the stadium as she was on the brink of death. Maybe she would have died if she didn't, so idk 🤷
The Ruler of Death can just assert her own position. In that situation, she holds the highest authority (the progress of discussion depends on her decision). She can just say "No, a deal is a deal and the Pyro Archon will die. Outsiders, don't involve yourselves." and everyone present there can't do a thing. Babbling is all they have. Maybe the Ruler of Death actually sympathizes with Natlan which made her bend some rules so Natlan can get the better outcome.
In the other hand, she's a Shades, which ultimately had well-being of humanity hardwired into her own existence. All her action so far meant to preserve humanity as a whole.
She cant just say "No" during the discussion yeah she has the most authority but intervention in human fate as a shade if forbidden else she will get punished by the heavenly principles
You actually watched the video or what? Ronova is merely a shade. If she do something that change anything in the "system" created by heavenly principle she will be punished.
Natlan didn't have to suffer that many losses against yogsothoth if the captain had explained his conditions and plans to Mavuika from the beginning, which would have fixed the leyline earlier. that's the problem with captain and any other fatui harbingers. if they had a good cause, they should've just said so. no need to play mysterious and make people guess. but nah, I'd sacrifice any npc to see cool fight cutscene between Archon and harbinger.
Captain's plan first was using Gnosis to restore Natlan leylines, which would result in basically hard reset that deletes Night Kingdom and all things associated with it. It's only after he (accidentally) awakens Lord of The Night, he can foresee another feasible plan which requires none of Mavuika's (or Natlan) (or Lord of The Night) sacrifice. His original plan, I think, basically use the Gnosis to resetting Natlan Ley Lines, and then pouring the souls inside him using Gnosis Authority into newly made Leylines.
@Mixtrelle if you consider the reputation and view people of Teyvat and Archons have towards the Fatui and any of Tsaritsa's Harbingers, it is completely reasonable for The Captain not to have an outwardly open approach with Mavuika. I don't see how he would just waltz in spilling the plan and also showing all of his cards right away. At no point were The Captain and Mavuika in close relationship of any sort prior to any of this that would provide an option for such approach you mentioned. It is simply not logical in the narrative setting we had so far.

As to why the Abyss Order didn't intervene, one Abyss Lector mentions that any power they[Abyss Order] cannot harness is considered a threat to them, which means the sentient Abyss in Natlan is no exception. Of course, there were Abyss Lectors were encountered but none of them mentioned anything about the Abyss Order or even their leader[Abyss Twin].
In itself, the Abyss and the Order of the Abyss are not the same nor are they on good terms from what I understand. Since the Order of the Abyss is composed of people from Khaenri'ah who are only loyal to the twin.

Yeah, but chapter 5 is really long, especially act four and five is almost 4 hours long if you combined a total that results into 8 hours it’s a good thing between updates. I had to finish the remaining character story quests to take a good break.

Overall the story is great, especially the active war against the abyss and what it costs. But I feel like the characters were kinda more in the story rather than driving the story, felt like they lacked that big presence (Navia, Neuvillete, and Furina in Fontaine, the main cast in Sumeru was great as a collective especially when they all came together for the Nahida rescue, Raiden as the big powerful end boss considering how hard she was to fight for me, Zhongli as the main face in Lyiue, and Venti and company in Monstand do their job well as almost a DnD party)
Tbf I liked a lot of the tribe quests, especially Xilonen, Chasca and Citlali (Kinich I liked mostly for Enjou). They weren't afraid to really dig into the theme and how the characters react to what is happening.
For the main story I was mostly interested in Citlali and Ororon (Also Kachina) since we spent most of our time with them. Mavuika and the Captain especially feel quite underused. Their conflict feels like it almost didn't happen and feels more like a setup to introduce a more interesting character Ororon. Both Mavuika and the Captain have lo little screentime I felt little for Mavuika when she was about to sacrifice herself since we don't get to truly know her and the Captain was able to get something out of his last moments due to how good the VA was, the scene was actually interesting (since it was a match between Rovova and the Captain where none did back down and the end was genuinely moving).
Citlali, Kachina, and Ororon are the best IMO from the Natlan cast. Both Citlali and Ororon have great dynamics as the terrifying shaman (but very tsundere) and mysterious helper of the Captain turn into a friendly and goofy gardener with a healthy appreciation for his vegetables (and aphids), the fact that we get an entire voice event with those two does help too :). Kachina is just a great character who is the focus of almost the entire 5.0. Chasca didn't click with me that much until her tribe quest and her YT videos.
The fact that Iansan was so underused despite being the face of Natlan from Travail is kinda sad.
The fact that every teaser video for Archons was so unique was perhaps too high a bar for Mavuika

Zhongli showed his spending habits and his generosity since he was the god of Mora and used it in the video to appreciate great craft and to enrich others
Raiden showed her more intimate side of how time has worn away her friends and turned her into the foe we encountered in Inazuma, it showed the sad picture of a God left all alone without her friends and only a cold ruler desiring only Eternity
Nahida's was just plain old sad and depressing showing what she wanted, the Sumeru main cast celebration, what she had, the fake Subzerus with the citizens, and the truth, the imprisonment, or if you look at it backward the past, the present and the future and essentially how we later rescue her and celebrate Subzerus
Furian was just peak, a great mix of playful and mysterious interaction at the start and the true pain of the prophesy coming true in later half, I think that video was the tipping point in Furian becoming truly beloved character.
Mavuika's teaser is very similar to Citlali's in that we see the effect that time has on their loved ones: Mavuika had to leave her family while Citlali has to endure others just passing from old age. The difference feels more like how much more time we spent with Citlali and got to know her while we never spent any significant moments with Mavuika. Even when she burned all those mementos to save us from the abyss we just go over it with just 2-5 lines at most.
We never get a moment from the teaser that is truly unique and fitting to Mavuika alone since most of the Natlan storyline we get that she is strong, a good leader, and capable. And that's it. No Venti's fun side, no Zhongli's serious and honest deals with controls and deep wisdom, no Raiden's menace and hidden meaning behind it, no Nahida's youthful optimism combined with her despair over her imprisonment and helplessness, no Furina's fun moments combined with genuinely touching and sorrowful moments. Mavuika is strong and that's it (and there was potential for her aspect of war: brilliant tactics, charismatic leader capable of winning over enemies, deep insight about the abyss and so on.) We get hints of it, and we see results but we rarely see any screentime in game other than her feats of strength. She feels like a powerful Archon rather than the Archon of War.

There is something that I want to add(and I am confused). If I am not wrong the first battle between phanes/shades and the dragon pyro didn't destroy the ley lines , because the pyro dragon fake his dead and hide. Later this dragon plan to use the power of the abyss to defeat the heavenly principals, in the process the pyro dragon make a several damage to the ley lines. And later Xibalanque really kill him this time. After that the story follow as we know the pact between Xibalanque and ronova

Natlan isn't disconnected, but rather have "bad internet". Irminsul still acknowledge Natlan. If it were disconnected, We wouldn't have Ley Line Blossoms in Natlan

One thing is wrong. It's Ronova didn't remove his curse of Immortality from Captain still making it a Paradox for Ronova. If Captain curse of immortality is removed it means Heavenly Principle will punish Ronova. And Night Kingdom will be defeated not endless infront of Abyss.

There's a possibility that "Muratan" is a lost tribe. The War with the Abyss is so catastrophic that The Wayob or The Lord of The Night Kingdom needed to erased "Muratan" history on the face of Natlan to save Natlan Ley Lines, just like Rukkhadevata delete herself to save Irminsul. So, i think this is the Event where Natlan Ley Lines are disconnect from other region.
Although Muratan is a miss translation and The Children of Pyro Archon could be the right one. The Children of Pyro Archon is sick name for a Tribe.
Edit: Looks like the correct translation is Munata. Basically "Mu" meaning Children of or Decender of. It's from african language and nata is basically Natlan. So, maybe Children of Natlan is the right translation.

On a personal note, I hope you could also help make sense of some Natlan characters' use of modern-aged technology, despite being a supposedly wartorn tribal nation. Them using it just feels SO out of place, you know? 🤔
It's basically the work of Xilonen, the genius inventor of the current Natlan age. Every modern-type tech used by the characters (Xilonen's boots and DJ set, Chasca's gun, Mavuika's bike) was made by Xilonen, and she found a way to make it use phlogiston as an energy source, which is why it's far more efficient inside Natlan compared to outside.
Since Xilonen is basically a single person inventing and creating these things, there's no way for her to mass produce them (unlike say Fontaine where they have factories to produce the gardemeks). So the tribes have to work with what they have
@@Kaze02se Just to correct that, Mavika's bike wasn’t made by Xilonen, she only modified it. The Flamestrider is a weapon tech passed down by previous Pyro Archons from generation to generation. As far as I know, it was Xbalanque who first obtained the weapon from the ancient dragons

@@MocktailsAndIce if you check out the Flamestrider tab in her story lines or the wiki, the Flamestrider wasn't an exact one for one copy from a single blueprint; it was basically pieces put together using a base of dragon-tech. Xilonen still had to figure out how to get them to work, engineer the parts, smith them together, and make it all work.

am i the only one not understanding what was the point of waiting for 500 years for all six heroes to appear if it only granted temporary "invincibility" for all natlan warriors, which did help push back the abyss (which only emerged due to the heroes' gathering lol), but did not, in any way, affect the final battle? It feels like at any point in the past 500 years any pyro archon could just go to the night kingdom and eradicate the abyssal corruption on their own (while Mavuika did it with the traveler, im not sure how much that actually affected the fight. Traveler's fight against arlecchino clearly showed how weak they are, and abyssal purification wasn't used in the final battle afair)

Great summary. Natlan was my most anticipated region in Teyvat. I'm not that much overwhelmed by the Archon Quest, world quest are so good though, but it's just perfect for me as it is. A sad but Great ending for the Captain or I would say Chadpitano. I'm not a fan of Fatuis but he's the exception. Suffering like that for 500 years is too much for a human. I can't believe how he maintain his humanity with that curse. He helped Natlan a lot as well by becoming the sustainer of the Night Kingdom by taking advantage of his curse of immortality
I’ve already beaten chapter 5 there’s no need for me to go through the whole story in 10 minutes, but man chapter 5 was long as Fontaine because chapter 5 act 4 and act 5was almost 4 hours long
One question. Why Traveler is needed in the final fight but not the 6 chosen Natlan heroes?

To my understanding, the traveler has to be a member of the six tribes to be able to merge Mavuika's power. Later, he receives the ancient name, which designates him as part of Natlan, therefore he can fight with Mavuika. As for why he fights with Mavuika, I think it's simply because he's the main character. It would be strange if he weren't present for such a climactic event.

if im not mistaken, Mavuika was originally thinking to go alone to face the Abyss but then a new variable (Traveler) comes and they have a unique power and somehow almost cant be corrupted by Abyss + Traveler got an Ancient name. Also Mavuika said ordinary person, even those with Vision(have more powerful body defense against the Abyss corruption) would be corrupted and killed instantly and Mavuika doesnt want to risk any more deaths

the timeline between xbalanque and mauvika is kinda confusing to me cause when xbalanque create his deal with god of death, did he die there and then appointed mauvika as a succesor. Cause on the voicelines of the ARCHONS they mentioned her(mauvika) like they met her or knew her but the when cataclysm occur xbalanque is still the archon.
so in future if someone destroyed all the lay lines in in tevat only natlan will remain safe place

There's one simple answer. Playable characters won't die as long as you're playing genshin. Sadly only in the honkai series (maybe even zzz), you can expect a playable character to die...meanwhile in genshin they're simply scared to do that...

there is one thing that bugs me, and it's why did hoyo write a story centered around the importance of Traveler getting an ancient name so they get resurrected if they die in Night Kingdom, spend 3 patches building up to that moment, only for it to become redundant because the Traveler didn't die in the final battle against Gosoythoth and the Ode of Resurrection didn't even come into effect in the final showdown. It's just so weird.
There is definitely something fishy going on here, like this whole thing feels like a loose end rather than a case of "bad writing". I mean, Mavuika still has her Gnosis and we still got one tribe left to go to, not to mention the chronicle is not filled yet, and obviously Natlan's story isn't officially finished until the Tsaritsa takes the Gnosis. Also, what was supposed to be the secret that Pyro Archon would share with us? And what about the censored name in Pyro Gemstone?
They also teased Dottore infiltrating Natlan, after we've learned from a dev that Dottore burning Irminsul is a future plot line, and Natlan's leylines (which are the roots of Irminsul) just got fixed and connected to other nations... what are they cooking

Pyro Traveler will defeat Columbina. As for Dottore, I don't know. But Traveler fought with much more dangerous opponents, like Narwhal, Raiden, and showed himself worthy there. The defeat from Arlecchino is a marketing ploy.

From what the Sunset animated short shows, it seems that she went into the Sacred flame just after their battle ended, when Tupac brought her to the stadium as she was on the brink of death.

The Ruler of Death can just assert her own position. In that situation, she holds the highest authority (the progress of discussion depends on her decision). She can just say "No, a deal is a deal and the Pyro Archon will die. Outsiders, don't involve yourselves." and everyone present there can't do a thing. Babbling is all they have. Maybe the Ruler of Death actually sympathizes with Natlan which made her bend some rules so Natlan can get the better outcome.
In the other hand, she's a Shades, which ultimately had well-being of humanity hardwired into her own existence. All her action so far meant to preserve humanity as a whole.
She cant just say "No" during the discussion yeah she has the most authority but intervention in human fate as a shade if forbidden else she will get punished by the heavenly principles

Natlan didn't have to suffer that many losses against yogsothoth if the captain had explained his conditions and plans to Mavuika from the beginning, which would have fixed the leyline earlier. that's the problem with captain and any other fatui harbingers. if they had a good cause, they should've just said so. no need to play mysterious and make people guess. but nah, I'd sacrifice any npc to see cool fight cutscene between Archon and harbinger.
Captain's plan first was using Gnosis to restore Natlan leylines, which would result in basically hard reset that deletes Night Kingdom and all things associated with it. It's only after he (accidentally) awakens Lord of The Night, he can foresee another feasible plan which requires none of Mavuika's (or Natlan) (or Lord of The Night) sacrifice.
His original plan, I think, basically use the Gnosis to resetting Natlan Ley Lines, and then pouring the souls inside him using Gnosis Authority into newly made Leylines.
@Mixtrelle if you consider the reputation and view people of Teyvat and Archons have towards the Fatui and any of Tsaritsa's Harbingers, it is completely reasonable for The Captain not to have an outwardly open approach with Mavuika. I don't see how he would just waltz in spilling the plan and also showing all of his cards right away. At no point were The Captain and Mavuika in close relationship of any sort prior to any of this that would provide an option for such approach you mentioned. It is simply not logical in the narrative setting we had so far.
