The world editor needs to have an option to disable all player made changes to hot keys, a simple tick would suffice. Sometimes I think people forget how much jargon do custom map makers would have to go through for every little change that blizzard does whilst they completely ignore our existence and the impact on us. The implementation of the zoom features completely ignored map makers as well.
@imachilldood2759 I don't think the editor needs a big overhaul, some sorting out will do though, proper sorting out, not winging it. Most importantly the world editor needs to go back to its "king" position in Warcraft 3, most mapmakers are used to the fact that the world editor can bend the game to it's will, It is the king under the game, or King under the mountain if you will 😇 But ever since the official classic team which included a proper world editor engineers was laid off, with every update the game is getting on top of the editor, having features that are completely uncontrollable by the editor, that ultimately shrinks away mapmakers control over the map that they choose to create. Whether it's a new feature added that disregards the map makers, or long time bugs that haven't been fixed since the release of reforged. Right now the most well-off mapmakers are the ones who have completely custom coded their maps, and the least well off people are the people who genuinely relied on the fundamentals of the world editor and the game of Warcraft 3 to create a fun experiences without having to learn coding. And if that continues on the dream of a new map maker coming in and having great ideas and not necessarily needing coding knowledge to create something amazing will fade away to nothingness.
Map editor needs an overhaul. I'm pretty sure its still got a lot of errors like the requirements for "Intervals" requiring you to make an integer set to 0 to use the 0 index. since 1-2 are the new ones and 2 does nothing. They should get into the editor and update it 100%. AND FIX STARFALL THAT HAS BEEN BROKEN FOR CUSTOM MODELS FOR AGES NOW! REEEEEEEEE
@@Desire_K If by overhaul you mean a wide series of bug fixes and some practical editions then I am for that, but if by overhaul you mean some sort of weird botched remake that changes the editor too much than it should then I'm completely against that, and one of my major reasons for being so is that I already don't trust blizzard with the game, imagine trusting blizzard with the editor. Yeah starfall is not fixed probably, The tech tree requirements bug is partially fixed, engineering upgrade most likely has the bug that it always had, The skin system added to the game most likely conflicts with abilities when it shouldn't. You can name a Holy Bible worth of things in need of fixing.
I dont think engine is ready for changing where icons are (customizable grid). It's hard coded for each ability in their prototypes (see world editor) AFAIK. Though it would be nice, if you could do it, and maybe save per map or globally. I personally dont mind the default grid arrangement :/
Yes ! It's like iTunes when it doesn't use Cloud for so long when other company use it and the technology was here. Shame that is not already the case. It's simple ergonomy. Would be lovely.
This would have to be implemented with custom maps in mind because it could break a lot of them.

the editor just needs a big overhaul with simpler buttons and make it new user friendly tbh..

With the way that Custom Maps work, I don't see this ever happening.

The command card can so be much better, let blizzard hear you wtii
we need addons for warcraft 3. dps meter?
Wonder if a kitted BM could top 100.....
imagine to be a developer and being ask to change everything every 2 weeks
No hecking way they proly ate something good to do this
if you can rebind the command card keys, thats going to mess up some custom games
then change it back to normal for that map. either by going through the grid or just "Default Settings ✅"
Seems completely unnecessary to move the button locations. IIRC you can move the locations with customkeys currently in WC3.
You would rather change a text document then quickly & very easily customise them on the fly as demonstrated in this video?
@@WTiiWarcraft No, I'd rather do neither.
i was about to say dont play WOW like half the youtube community right now smh....... so boring to watch
