I've never seen such an indepth build guide before but thank you, I'm transplanting the guts of my current build into this tomorrow and you've covered all bases.
I appreciate your informative in-depth explanation of Motherboard options. I have the Lian Li O11 Dynamic Mini; SFX Power Supply + Full size ATX MOBO. However, I used 2 of the sata ports on the right. You just saved me a headache :)
A comprehensive and brilliantly produced video, thank you. I wonder if the additional satisfaction from completing SFF builds outweighs the increased difficulty and frustrations? I'm tempted, though... Also, as a side note, this was for me a convincing advert for electric screwdrivers!
I much prefer big cases and some swearing was involved in this video (manual included in box not great). With the electic screwdriver I ahven't found the perfect one yet, this one is a bit too powerful
Amazing video; I had many questions about GPU size that weren't very clearly answered elsewhere, and you covered everything in fantastic detail. Thanks!
thank you so much for the comprehensive review! all other youtubers just straight up made a build but didnt really show the capabilities of the case. i appreciate the effort and time you spent to explain everything! looking forward to seeing new builds from your channel :)
Hi Chris, the quality of the way you do these step-by-step guides for the PC cases, they are better than the manual that comes with the case. This is why I'm subcribed to your channel. I like the way you test to see if every component fits, so us viewers can get creative and make the purchase if it fits our style of build. There are no videos out there like yours that are able to help me with ideas for the Meshroom S case. I've been wanting this case for a while and have been afraid to make the purchase due to parts fitment. Even though your video has covered everything, there is still one more fitment I've been looking for and still cannot find it. Would you able to confirm or show that a PCIe riser cable can fit into any of the lower PCIE lane slots on a ATX motherboard with the SFX PSU in place. SSUPD said that a riser cable can fit into any of the lower slots on a ATX motherboard even with the SFX PSU in the case. I've seen so many pictures and videos (including this video) with the ATX build, it doesn't look like it can fit, and I'm scared to take the risk making purchase of both the case and a SFX PSU. Cheers
Just tried this and it doesn't fit and that is with the case in the standard position (3 slot mode), if converted to 4 slot mode it will be even worse. Thats with the motherboard, riser and PSU I used in the video, but would expect similar results with others. Thanks for your support. I would go ITX if building in this case again.
@@ChristopherFlannigan Thank you for testing this, saved me time and money. ITX is the way then. Awlays looking forward to your future builds, testing etc. Hope you enjoy all the content on Computex 2023, I'm sure you have many videos ideas for all of these new cases and components on display at Computex. Cheers
5:50~6:29 SSUPD has released front extension kits for Meshroom S to solve this problem. Although it adds a bit size, but it still smaller than most ATX or even MATX cases, while increasing compatibility.
Thanks for the very detailed build guide. I want to go ATX+SFX+big GPU and possibly custom watercooling (already have a block, pump, tubing, micro res). But im not so sure now. This case really needs to be a few millimeters bigger for ATX and mATX, but then the ITX SFFPC elitists would complain. Im not sure what to do, as this is by far the smallest 'reasonable' (price, features) ATX case, and the next case up would be around 27 liters and have its own compromises too, thats a big jump up from 15L. Ugh.
If you use an ATX mobo with this case, can you use the pci-e slots with a sfx PSU? I want to use the PCI-e slots for 10G network card and graphics cards.
No plans to. I had contacted them a few years ago offering collaboration and they told me where to go. Pity when you see what I can do with a build guide.
Hey...I have an atx board...I mean with the sata cable, the right angle one you used is okay...but what about cheap ass Chinese cable does real have a good clip. Can I fit the cables from the front?
v3 needs to get rid of the need for 90 degree hdmi/display cables. if you're running multiple displays like many people do, that's multiple 90 degree adapters upping cost significantly and increasing hassle to an otherwise almost perfect case
Hello, do i need a 380 mm riser cable or a 270 mm riser cable to build a pc with an atx motherboard ? is it possible to mound an 240 aio with fans beetween mesh side and radiator ? and route downward tubing without too much hassle with the riser cable ? Any advice will be welcome, Nicolas Perrin
I have a 4090 Suprim Liquid X and an ATX mobo. I don't think both will fit into this, even if I downgrade my CPU cooler from a custom loop to a low profile cooler. I will seriously have to consider purchasing an ITX motherboard.
I'm just not a fan of the highest part of the AIO being those tubes. That is where the air is going to keep possibly causing bumpy starts if left off too long.
Please make a video with front extension mod provide by Ssupd . And please use itx case if possible . There literally no review with front extension on v2 case . This case is so dream come true . I could hardly imagine any other cases which can complete with it .
What if the Aio pump is in the radiator instead of the cpu block like an MSI aio. Does the mounting orientation really matter like others with the pump in the cpu block?.
Hi Chris, your o11 build guide helped me a ton the other day when I built my 4090 strix rig in that case after 7 years of using the same old PC without ever updating it. Unfortunately, while the build came together beautifully, Lconnect is proving to be maybe the single worst piece of software I've ever encountered in my entire life. Looking online, there's plenty of other people, especially on reddit, that seem to have been having issues with the software always being frozen and unresponsive for months, if not years, with no concrete solution being provided by lian li. Do you think you could ever do a video on this topic? Specifically, what's happening is that 9 times out of 10, the Lconnect window doesn't allow me to do anything other than move it around. I can't click on it, I can't select any options or tabs on it, and on most occasions, the infinity tab that normally shows a visual representation of the fans' layout doesn't even appear in the program window. Continually using task manager to exit out of the software and relaunch it does nothing either. I've only gotten it to work a total of 3 times, I believe, and each of those times, the program froze up after a couple minutes of me tinkering with it. The last time this happened, I was finally able to quickly set the fans to the color I want, but the window froze up before I could do anything else. This happens with every single version and update of Lconnect that I have gotten, and I've gotten about a dozen different ones at least, using manual installs to manual updates to everything else I can find recommended by lianli reps on any reddit threads and blogposts pertaining to these freezing issues. Also, I had uninstalled armory crate right after starting up the pc for the first time, so there's no armory crate software on my system either. My build is a 4090 strix oc with a 13900k cpu on a z790 rog maximus hero mobo, 64gigs of ddr5 corsair dominator ram, and 10 lian li SL-infinity 120 unifans, arranged in three groups of three with one by itself in the rear of the case, for a total of four connections going into the lianli controller hub, as well as the really thin wire connecting the controller hub to the motherboard. It's been incredibly frustrating dealing with this, and doubly so because there seems to be no real investigation or resolution of the issue on lianli's part, nor does there seem to be any discussion about it on youtube. Had I seen videos showing these problems in play as I've described them here and as I've read them described by others on reddit, I would've gone for a corsair setup instead. Really hope you look into it sometime so we can have some light shed on all these issues with Lconnect.
I haven't experienced these issues. Might be worth a clean install of windows (it's almost impossible to get rid of armory crate and last time i had issue with it a clean install worked).
Cause I have good parts but massive case. This case is perfect! I dont need to go out and buy a new mobo. And my GPU will finally fit inside a SFF case. Kudos to the team who did this.

What if the Aio pump is in the radiator instead of the cpu block like an MSI aio. Does the mounting orientation really matter like others with the pump in the cpu block?.
Not for damaging the pump but if you have waterblock at top of loop any air will collect in waterblock and may affect the cooling
