Perhaps the tech used emits loud sounds once powered? Idk. Rockstar really nailed it at making this UFO seem out of this world. I know it's just a game, but hell it's creative and has you wondering.

There's a locked vehicle script for this UFO, which means it probably would have been used in the scrapped alien DLC as a vehicle by the player. But since it was scrapped it just sits above fort zancudo as a surveillance vehicle. Who knows its purpose now
