Brilliant introduction. Can you please expand on the bolt bending we see in FEA?
ASME allowable stress for bolts in service that is preload+thermal+bending load is 3*Sm. How do we include this bending stress from FEA? Or is it that we check if flange rotation is within limits and can safely ignore this bending component in bolts calcs? Thanks!
