Sir thanks for another valuable gem. One quick question.. how much the school counselors will help with course selection and plan of study. Should we go with school counselor suggestion or we should do our independent research as well.. eager to listen to your thoughts 🙏🙏🙏
It is difficult for a school counsellor to know about our kid when the kid starts 9th grade. We know them better. And for that reason, I would suggest to create a course plan that we think is best for our kid. But we can always double check with them to make sure that we are not missing out on anything.

If the kid living in US didn’t get their GC at that time of admission ,will their extra curricular credits will be considered?
Considering Extra curricular activities has nothing to do with the GC status. Yes, they all will be considered.
Thank you so much. Why in most of the schools in major states, there is very less counselor to school ratio. How could the counselor remember if the counselor: student ratio is 1:500
Yeah, it is hard for them. But they can suggest the college based on our kids academic performance and awards.

National merit scholarship - sure. PSAT - not really. PSAT is just for the high school to see how the students are progressing in their learning. Not used for college admissions.

Depends on whether the school acknowledges the program. Our HS does not acknowledge the tamil class that we take outside.

Yes what i heard is based on the School district. in bay area not all school districts accepts tamil language credit. Fremont ITA runs a HSCP which is accepted by Fremont school district. Cupertino not. So its based on schools. check with them,

Our kids did not go for any extra classes for Math or English. Reading lot of books from library helped them with english. Staying couple of years ahead in Khan Academy Maths helped them with maths. That is all we did.

3 year college degree is not good enough to apply for PG in USA. You need at least 4 year program. That means, 3 year graduates have to do Masters in India before applying to PG in USA.

As long as the degree is at least 4 years, it is good enough.

Pranam sir my grandson is on H4 visa inNew Jersey. He has been accepted in rutgers university for undergraduate course if he joins as a student can he do part time job or does he have to convert to F 1 if he has to convert to F 1 does he have to go back to india for stamping

These exams score are for students to join college in US ( to learn & study ) or they use these scores to select as assistant professors in the college . India is best .

Hello sir.. recently I watched your most of the investment videos. All r very informative. I like mf videos. Could you pls suggest some investment ideas which can earn returns in one or 2 years. This will help me to pay my daughter college tuition fee.
1 or 2 years is too short of a time frame for any investment risk. I would suggest to keep the money risk free in a savings account.

There are 1000's of colleges. You should write SAT and apply for it. Getting scholarship for UG is not that easy. But give it a shot. In my opinion, it is lot easier to come here to US for PG rather than UG.

Sir, My daughter is in 11 th grade now studying in India. We might have to move to the US soon. Would you suggest that she gives her SAT and finishes 12 th in India or coming to the US and doing Grade 12 would be helpful for college admission. Kindly guide .
My suggestion would be to finish HS and write SAT in India. It will be difficult for the kids to adapt to the new culture and stay on top of education, if they come here for 11th grade.
