Honestly, if it was not for the Sith manipulations going on in the background, the CIS would easily be the most morally good of all the major Star Wars factions. The few corrupt and self serving corporate interests aside, the core message of the CIS was one of self determination and the right to self rule supported by a united army to maintain the peace. That is the very core of what a good nation should be.
