Hi matt. If you see this, I just wanted to say you should do a video collab with Jomboy. I think it would be good for both parties involved. Jomboy would do a breakdown of one of your pro at bats, and you would do a swing breakdown of Jomboy’s swing. Please let me know what you think! Also I’m think video collabs with guys like Fuzzy or giraffeneckmarc would be good, especially when they do video topics on things that you might have insight on, or when discussing topics that can or do overlap into the subject of your videos
That 1st swing on the right side of the screen is a perfect example of how not to use your lower half. Wondering if he thought by almost standing vertical at the end and forcing the top and bottom half forward was in his mind working the lower half. 2nd swing is much better. The old phrase “stay within yourself” is evident in this swing.
I struggle with the same problem for me like Matt said people always said use your lower half more and I always try to drop my back knee and rotate which spins my shoulder off the ball that’s what happens when people explain things but don’t show you a visual representation
I’m not one to purchase gimmicks - plenty of them making claims of fixing swing flaws. I saw on one video you using a device to maintain the distance between elbows during the swing. Was that the LC1 Linear Compression Trainer or Elbow Drag Buster (or similar). I have several players that look like the above “before” swing. A bit of rear elbow leading and a swing lacking full extension after contact. Thank You....
Bat speed.com’s “The Perfect Connextion” keeps the elbows equidistant maintaining the triangle throughout the swing like Matt talks about all the time. I think that’s the device I’ve seen Matt use in other videos. They also sell the “Power Belt” that looks to do the same thing but according to their website, “gives batters more freedom to use with the heavy bag, soft toss and even light pitching. It develops the smooth transition that all batters need to go from the cage to live pitching.” I’m looking to buy both for my 13 yr old daughter who, btw, has benefited greatly from Matt’s concepts of turning the barrel earlier and increasing the angle of her hip hinge to mimic the “ferris wheel” rather than a “carousel” which had her pulling off by cutting across the zone. She’s always had power but she’s much more consistent now! Here’s the link: www.batspeed.com/products07.html
Looks great, but Im not a huge fan of just showing this without a bit more insight on the drills you are using and how you explain them to the hitters. That
Assuming you're a righty I find that most people who step closed tend to feel really open when they step straight ahead, start off with looking at your feet and stepping forward a couple times. really FEEL how that FEELS and then try to find that FEELING when swinging instead of just telling yourself to step forward
Great video. Already subbed. My son is 15 and a catcher for the past 3 years. I've videoed his progression with his catching coach and videoing all the lessons trying to help out the catchers out there. Let me know what you think and sub if you would like. Thanks.
But how do you rob trains in Red Dead Redemption 2? That's a video. Your baseball content is great! Keep it up dude. Rob Manfred sucks
By leaning forward you created a more compact swing and fixed the bat path. I'd work on that stride.

Hey Matt have you ever heard of brian Lawrence
Thoughts on camwood?
A Blank I like it
It depends on the pitch.....
Nikola Tesla if you think these two swings would be the same if the pitch were the same then I can’t help you

That may take me 2 hours to go through, but I agree that would be nice. A lot of our drills are on our RUclips page
