Lord Halifax wanted Churchill as P.M. but was a member of the House of Lords so had other motives not to be P.M. but was otherwise an appeaser to think he could have been P.M. would now see the world a darker place. Lord Halifax wanted to negotiate peace with Italy as a go between.
Appreciate the kind words. Amazing that negotiation was on the table at the time but it's understandable. Churchill's decisions and leadership helped shaped the outcome of the war and he is deserving of a film like this. Hopefully it lives up to the hype.
Had Britain taken out a peace treaty with Hitler it is impossible to predict events but I do not see any P.M. being able to join with Germany once the truth about his evil aims were made public a Churchill type of politician would face war with Germany as a consequence .Having said that the possible scenarios are in the hundreds it is almost as if destiny took an invisible hand. That suggests a force that borders on the biblical perhaps but god was Churchill in place at the precise moment or what.
