Hello I am a tico add some advice for anyone who wants to visit Costa Rica or any other country for that matter if you want to experience the food and culture of where you're visiting avoid the really fancy places or the places that look nice and like it's from a first world country because the food will be far more expensive and will be more for the foreigners you want to go where the locals go not were the foreigners go and feel free to ask any Costa Rican about their favorite places to go and things to do locally because that is the best way for you to find out what is fun and were to go
I have lived in Costa Rica for almost two years. If you are looking for the least expensive country to move to or vacation in. It ain't CR. Not that CR is expensive, no but there are cheaper places. We live in the Central Valley. San Jose is maybe the most expensive. Yet if you are a good shopper there are still deals. Beach towns Well DUH, they can be pricey. There are still some great bars and fantastic food. We make a beach run every 5 or 6 weeks. Jaco, Manual Antonio, and Playa del Coco are our favorites. They are on the Pacific side. Porta Viejo on the Caribbean side is Ok also. The country is beautiful, the people are great and year-round you can't top the weather.
Costa Rica has gotten very expensive the exchange rate recently was 523 colons per dollar. No free refills on coffee 13% tax on everything. Plus 10% added in restaurants for tip land of pura Vida comes at a high cost
We have yet to understand people who travel to other countries and refuse to go to the local restaurants. We haven’t visited your area but have yet to be disappointed with the ones we have visited while on CR!
Very extremely reasonable prices for food..!!!! Food looks delicious and the orange juice I bet tasted Like real orange!!!! The view is amazing and the restaurant looked cute…! CR is just encantadora and inexpensive and full of everything you want… CR is your best bet for a beautiful and inexpensive and memorable vacation
Yes for the quality of food the pricing is reasonable, the problem is most people compare the price here to places in Asia or Nicaragua. Yes it's more expensive but you get what you pay for. Thanks for watching and be sure to subscribe if you haven't already 😊
Haha good eye! 😂 No because this is something Shayna gets every four weeks. not a splurge while on vacation. She had already had the appointment set before we picked the day.
Just like Goa india Portuguese were in Goa many years. I live 200 meters from the sea, surrounded by coconut 🌴 trees. Live music, yoga, good food. And psychedelic full moon beach parties many casa here.
Hehe i love when people makes the effort to talk some spanish. The good part is that if you don't, most of the people has at least basic notions of english
Guys there's a place that I will strongly recomend to you, it's called la Leona Waterfall. Go check it out on Google, it might be a nice place to show on your videos (I'm a guide there btw hehe).... (It's a light blue colored waterfall inside of a cave)
That's awesome! We look forward to meeting you and being your hosts here at Sea Casa in beautiful Samara! March is already booked up in our Casa Tropical, but there is still some availability in Casa Nautical. Our beautiful pool is done soon and will be ready for you to enjoy 😌🍻
Tamarindo is completely different and very busy with tourists. If you enjoy Samara you will only enjoy Tamarindo for a couple of days. You should just come back to Samara and stay with us at Sea Casa.
Let's be real Steve...you need more than one of those little coffees when you're there! I could have gone for a 3rd actually! 😂 It was also my fault for putting the bill over the top with that beautiful side of avocado...but again, it's personally another must with my breakfasts! 😋
Love the revisit of places I hung out when I was staying at Sea asa in Samara. I went to see the spheres down in Palmar Norte, stopped for an early dinner there, beef filet dinner, a boneless chicken breast in a cream sauce, and big BBQ pork ribs, all with great sides, 3 big fruit smoothies. Total bill: $27,000 colones ($41 USD or $52.00 Cdn)
I neglected to add that this meal was for 3 adults. 3 full meals with a large fruit drink for $14 each, is not much, but that depends on your income level I would assume. Things have increased here since then, simply because the recent lose of the value of the US, or any other currency to the strength of the Costa Rican Colon.
If I have a group that is kind of high maintenance and like to drink plus love the ocean. Any suggestions on a place to stay, what to do, where to go. Thanks in advance!!!! If you don’t see this comment no worries! Cheers
Yes, stay at our vacation rentals here in Samara, we have a listing to rent our entire property. We are close to the best and safest beach in all of Costa Rica. Visit our website www.seacasasamara.com and click book now. Our property sleeps up to 12 people
Awesome thanks, ya will be interesting. I got rid of telegram, my account was hacked and the jerks that did it sent out messages to people in my contacts, random people and added me to weird groups. I never really used it anyway.

@talanspittler8376 haha yes you can beat the beach in Tamarindo, both Playa Samara and Playa Carrillo blow Playa Tamarindo out of the water!
Great video...greetings from California
Loved this one! But my stomach was growling the whole way through 😜
Haha Our food videos do that to people! Thanks for watching as always. Hope you 2 are doing better!
Seems like a lot of bang for your buck for food! We'd love to take home some fresh Costa Rican coffee. 😋
Yes and the food tastes a lot better here! especially the coffee!!
If you wanna get the best coffee go to Tarrazú or Santa María de Dota....luxury quality coffee
Si es caro. Pero se siente más caro si tienes que pagarlo con un salario de Costa Rica, que aunque es de los más altos del continente apenas alcanza
That brownies furniture is the national sport out there lol..i wonder if they ever change the coloring
Wow guys. $27 for breakfast at Sheriffs? How many coffees did you have?
We had 2 each plus the juice and the side of avacado

You left a tip for the food even though there is a service charge included in the bill. Is that exoected?

We have a whole playlist of travel tips
$100.00 will only last 1 hour in san jose. I love the hotel del rey.
Haha true but we can tell you $100 can be spent in an hour here if you eat lunch at a couple of the higher end restaurants with drinks.
Really is it an all tuna buffet???
Tuna is cheap here! Haha. No if you go to places like gusto or mama gui. It's higher end dining
Glad to see your not a stiff and got a personality thanks for playing along. Pura vida long live taormina and del rey and sportsmans lodge.
Pura Vida
What is the name of the Soda you had breakfast?
It is called rustic sheriffs

I bought three bracelets and at pelada for ¢8,000..hmm Samara artists at the futball aren't cheap. I guess the Nicaraguan love me.
Ya I've paid as little as that too and had them fall apart in 2 weeks. We've bought many bracelets here in 5 years and now know what to look for

surely u r not paying w canadian dollars , i assume u hv already exchanged it somewhere
Of course we're not paying with Canadian dollars in Costa Rica, it's colones or USD here. Do some basic research!

So $33 dollar’s for breakfast ok I see
Yep, for what we chose to order with extra sides, juice, and multiple coffees, as 2 people on the beach.
