- The new Thule Epos 2 Bike Rack with Lights is a very easy to use (and store) hitch mount bike rack that also features functioning brake lights and licence plate holder (also with lights). The Epos 2 is easy to intall as well as folds up for smart storage.
In this video I show how it works, how to install it, how to mount a bike and how to take it off for storage. It handles 2 bikes up to 140lb in total weight.
On sale until 5/27! $999 - snp.link/29e5a224

Thanks for the vid. Its interesting seeing the differences in the USA spec rack. In Europe, its illegal for the licence plate to be obscured so the plate holder is provided. We don't use your style of tow hitch, using a 50mm ball type onto which the rack clamps and locks (much quicker). The electrics are 13 pin (only 7 are used) and we don't seem to have the wheels on the two bike version (make of that what you wish). I think that you may have also discovered that its easier to fold the rack up before you take it off the truck😋. Currently available in Europe for around $1000 including shipping and taxes.
Good Job explaining everything.
Thank you! It is a heck of a nice bike rack, Thanks for the kind note!
Just purchased mine. I thought the ramp was built in and it is not. So, I put the front tire up on the curved rack and pushed the bike across to the other side which made getting it onto the rack much easier than picking it up.
thank you very much, nice video, thule owes you a lot !! you should get pay !! 😀😀
Thank you for the nice note!
Thule recommends that the hole where you insert the "pin" that you show in 3:57 is 1.5" deep or more. Is that the case with the OEM hitch on your 4Runner? I need to buy the OEM one for my 4Runner but not sure if the hole is 1.5" deep or more
Hello! Great question. Yes, this is on a stock 2021 4Runner TRD Off Road package. I did not change anything and used the bike rack stock as well. I hope that helps!
Nice rack. I’m debating on this or waiting forever for a QuickrStuff Mach 2. Have you tried this in comparison to the Epos 2?
Also, what are the dimensions of it folded up? I’m limited on space and would be super nice if it’s as small as a Mach 2 is
How does it do while driving at highway speed ?
No problem at all. I have driven at 80mph with e bike on here. For hours at a time. Very secure.
@@Engearment thank you looks like a good product .
Can you fold it upward when there's no bike on it and you dont want to remove it from the hitch?
I just purchased mine and I don't think so.
will it accommodate a Lectric XP 3.0 Bike?
I am not sure. From what it looks like, that bike folds up, right? Sorry, I do not have access to that exact bike to test that fit out for you.
Can’t seem to see how you are actually clamping the bike on to start with?
Does the bike rack rattle/wobble when driving?
Nope. It stays in place very well. It is simple to dial in too!
Can it easily fit two e-MTBs? Apparently you need Phd in engineering to arrange two of them side by side. Not a problem with smaller/road bikes.
@@kuzmajacek I will give that a try and report back. I have been solo on most bike-based adventures the last few months. But I can see how it works. Fingers crossed, I wont need a PHD! LOL. Take care!
