I didn't know about News and Levels, think it's a wonderful tool. Thank you.
You're welcome. What resources do you most often use?

Thanks.
@@Todd_OutstandingEnglish Hi, I often use reading books while listen to them with audio books, and also the LingQ App which you also mentioned, thanks.
Excellent resources!
When I was young, my English was so bad that I couldn't even construct sentences without grammatical errors. I came from a poor family and education wasn't a priority. For me to be able to excel in English, I read books. It was really hard at first, I had to check the meanings in the dictionary. I was like a fool. I wanted to give up, but I told myself that if I stop I wouldn't be able to find a decent job and my English would be forever bad. I'm glad that I'm able to improve. Reading helped me a lot. I've read over 50 books. I won't stop reading. I'm also proud of myself for not giving up.
That's awesome. Thank you for sharing your inspiring story in the comments to motivate others. What's your favorite book?
@@Todd_OutstandingEnglish oh! it's hard to choose. LOL. hmmmmmm... A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini
That's been on my "to be read" list for a long time. Happy to hear you enjoyed it!
Thank you for this.

Excellent! Make 2025 your year to take your English to the next level!
Since I began studying English.. I've always been reading in English. At the beginning with Graduates English Reading Books ( which I found entertaining and helpful). And when my English began improving I focused my attention in reading, shall We say,.. Normal Books. Since I live in Spain and not having opportunities of speaking in English - Reading and listening are my best tools to keeping my English "Fresh and Save". Have a great Weekend and Greetings from Spain
Excellent! I'm happy to hear that reading has played such a positive role in your journey to fluency.
As for "fresh and save", I think the term "up-to-date" better captures the essence of your meaning.
Thankyou sir ❤❤❤❤❤

Great video,Todd ! As a matter of fact, I'm not very keen on reading books nowadays 😃 I prefer reading short articles like social media posts or blogs to reading thick books. You're right ! Reading should be enjoyable that's why I always pick up reading materials that suit my level and interests 😊 thank you for sharing your valuable reading tips with us 👍
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment! When it comes to reading, it's most important to just pick what you like so it's easy to turn it into a habit. What kinds of blogs do you like reading?
@Todd_OutstandingEnglish I read all kinds of blogs as long as they're easy to understand 😊
I always listen to something but my speaking has not improved much yet from your speech I have learnt that I have to read a lot
In addition, while listening you can add shadowing. Listen to a short clip, pause, and repeat what the speaker says while trying to imitate the speaker's pronunciation, speed, and intonation.
Hope this helps!
Fantastic information.

Hi, My name is Silas and a learning english of children's stories with Oxford Dominoes Quick Starter. Is the best tip of the all. I love The Little Match Girl, Mulan, Simbad, Sherlock Holmes- Blue Diamond.
Hi Silas! Oxford Dominoes is an absolutely delightful series for learners. I've used quite a few of them over the years in my classrooms and with students I've tutored.
Got my subscribe. 👀😬

I feel exciting mostly when start a new year, I make plans to improve my education . I have been study four years still I unable to confidence myself. one I will be successful.
What areas of English do you feel the least confident in?
Thank you for this video teacher I don't read English without translation in my mind in Portuguese... Please the what may to do?
I would suggest reading easier materials or following along with a recording of the text. Try reading an entire block of text in English and then summarizing it in a couple of sentences in English. As you develop this habit, it will start to come naturally without even having to think about it.
I have a question. I really enjoy reading books in my native language, which is Spanish, but when I want to read a book in English, I focus too much on how the words must be pronounced. I mean, I avoid reading books in English because I'm afraid of creating mispronunciations in my head. What would you recommend? I should point out that I prefer free resources. Thanks!
I would suggest reading along to an audio recording of the text the first time before reading on your own. If needed, slow down the playback to .75 so that it's slower but the sound isn't distorted and if you have a paper copy of the text highlight any words that are pronounced differently than what you had expected.
For free resources to follow this method I would suggest any of those "Learn English with a Short Story" videos out there that have the text on the screen alongside the audio narration.
I have a few here you can check out: ruclips.net/p/PLjfEpqkZSEyjEb73-CiGYjzyo9ur7gFNM
For three of the stories above, I've uploaded the entire text to my blog. Unfortunately, it's been neglected and I haven't uploaded the text for the most recent story: blog.speakoutstandingenglish.com/categories/learn-english-with-a-short-story
Hola!
Hi Todd. I really want to add your advice to my agenda about learning english but I have som short question. How long part of text do you recommend for start to reading. It should be few pages or one chapter per day?
I don't want to overload myself and get discouraged, hence my doubts
If you're just beginning, try something manageable, like 5-10 minutes a day of actual reading, followed by 5-10 minutes of writing down the new words you find and creating your own sentences with them so you can build a sustainable habit.
This could be reading articles or books that have short chapters (most graded readers, but a lot of regular books have very brief chapters, too).
Once you're more comfortable, you can gradually increase the amount. Consistency is more important than quantity! Reading a little every day will help you see steady progress over time and not feel so much like a chore.
If you ever feel like the material is too challenging or lengthy, it’s okay to adjust! The goal is to make it enjoyable and effective for you.

Sometimes I think that you can read my mind. I’ve started reading again two months ago after a decade or more. The only way to memorize a new word is either to be lucky or persistent enough to come across it as often as possible. But there is a problem with it too. Right now I’m reading “to kill a mockingbird”. Although it’s an excellent book, it uses many old-fashioned, literal and formal words. It’s important to have a good dictionary in order to distinguish them from the words that are useful for the everyday conversation and my weapon of choice is “Oxford advanced learner’s dictionary”.
That's the trouble with reading older books is that the dated language really slows down reading and can even make the reading less enjoyable, too. You may also like The Heart is a Lonely Hunter by Carson McCullers. It's also by an author from the American South and shares a few of the same themes.
@@Todd_OutstandingEnglish Thank you, I’ll definitely check it out. There is something fascinating about the American South, especially in terms of literature. It’s probably the troubled history and the way it affects the people there until today. And the rebellious nature of theirs.
❤❤❤
A lot of heavyweights of American literature hail from the South. Probably mostly for the reasons you brought up.
Tell me some books name reading for beginners, i want from start ,
Oxford Dominoes is an excellent series of graded readers. You can choose titles by level that interest you.
In addition to this series, here is a handful of recent children's books that I find really enjoyable:
The House Held up by Trees (Kooser)
Bear and Wolf (Salmieri)
The Bear and the Piano (Litchfield)
The Bad Seed (John)
Extra Yarn (Barnett)
Wolfie the Bunny (Dyckman)
@Todd_OutstandingEnglish can I download PDF?
@@naqeebullah900 I'm glad you are interested in my recommendations. You may be able to find some of these at your local library, bookstore, or on eBook platforms.
@Todd_OutstandingEnglish ok, thanks a lot
Maybe I should take less and do more action. I don’t have the right tool that’s why it holds me down. I really need a schedule.
1. Set up a reading schedule and write it out as a reply to this message.
2. Come back in a week and tell me that you've been sticking to it. You got this!
That's my secret, too. I'm reading so many books. 😂
What are you reading now?
@Todd_OutstandingEnglish Some Stephen King books.
I’ve been on a non-fiction streak lately. Right now, I’m making my way through A Short History of England, which has become my lunchtime companion at work. Meanwhile, American Nations is holding a spot on my nightstand-I chip away at a few pages every evening before calling it a night.
@@Todd_OutstandingEnglish I've read some great non-fiction novels too, but fiction (more specifically, historical fiction) is my favourite genre.
The last historical fiction I read was Roth's The Plot Against America - it presents an alternate U.S. in which FDR is defeated by Charles Lindbergh in the 1940 presidential race. The story is told from the perspective of a Jewish-American family as the U.S. remains isolationist during WWII and maintains friendly ties with the Nazi regime in Germany. Overall I enjoyed the book but the third act seemed rushed.
Instead of reading everyone watching RUclips video.
LOL.
Reading is such an underrated way to improve your English and gain fluency. There's a significant difference between my English students who read and those who don't. Great video! 👏
Thanks! At the start of the school year, I have my new students fill out a student interest survey. One of the questions asks, "What's the last book you read?" If a student lists an English book, I can anticipate that they'll excel in our class. Even students who list a Chinese-language book (I teach in Taiwan) tend to rise to any challenges I present and can handle our course load. It's the students who struggle to recall the last book they read, or leave the question blank, who tend to need more scaffolding and support.
Is there someone who communicates with me in English every day on Facebook ????😢❤
@@dolloodoogii7840 If you are looking for a conversation partner on FB try different learning English groups but just be careful of weirdos.
Is that AI.

@@Todd_OutstandingEnglishI think it’s a compliment. Your presentation is immaculate. And for some people it seems to be hard to distinguish. Too much AI nowadays
