I been iPad only for 3 years paid 2k for everything with the m1. I use it everyday so I think it was worth it. I have a pc for file management and some programs but I prefer the simplicity of the iPad without all the clutter and having the Apple Pencil is crucial for my photography editing. So mainly for work the iPad is better and more friendly for clients to use.

@@johnpoe3012for production its a boon. portable remote multi-feed monitor, the ability to walk around and use it on set like a clipboard, and the pencil for masking photos and videos, graphic illustration etc. all the toptier professional software is on it, even hollywoods Resolve. if I bought a wacom or cintiq just to use with my gaming laptop it easily goes over 4k in total. these things perform as powerfully as their desktop countrrparts, which is pretty insane given its weight and size and ease of use, which i prefer for my workflow.

Not to mention that they are probably not upgrading the pencil anytime soon. So you’re getting a really future-proof device.

Have never owned an iPad even though I've long toyed with the idea of getting one simply because I've been craving a new graphics tablet. I never got great at drawing in general, but I had fun waaaay back in the day with a giant Wacom. So the appeal of drawing directly on a screen has been in the back of my mind, and I think this new M4 iPad Pro with Pencil Pro is the combo I've been waiting for. I can't imagine I'll be doing a lot of other stuff with the iPad because I have a MacBook Pro and a desktop PC (hooked up to my home theater), so my media consumption and productivity needs are already satisfied. This would really just be about having a nice drawing tool.

If you just plop your iPad Pro 13-inch on a keyboard and use the touchscreen 10% of the time then you might as well get a mac. You are wasting your money. The touchscreen experience is so refreshing coming from a windows user for half my life. I use the on-screen keyboard. I have an iPad Air 5th gen and a 2nd gen pencil. I see absolutely 0 reason to upgrade, to be honest. Seeing more baseline storage and a landscape camera is nice, though. The landscape camera existing under the pencil dock is hilarious as it either means it took them that long to figure out how to do it, or they were just being Apple with the 10th gen iPad.

With the cost of the iPad keyboards I don’t know how they sell a single product….when you can build a custom keyboard for the same price or less and you get something that thocks, is wireless, can be used on multiple setups, and is surely a better typing experience - many times for less than $200 let alone $300.

10:15 this is exactly why I’m confused. No one has said the iPad Pro )or any iPad) was under powered. That has never been uttered in any language.
So why make a more powerful iPad if not updating the OS? Let’s put a MacBook on iPadOS and see what happens…
Oh wait, we basically did that with the new iPads… and it’s still boring.

I ordered the M4 iPad Pro w/1tb regular glass and the the new apple pencil Pro. I have been using the m1 iPad Pro with 1tb since it's been released and it's slowing down and starting to overheat. I use Lightroom, photoshop and Adobe Premiere on it for about 8 to 10 hours a day. I prefer it over my Mac PC because photo editing using the touch screen is so much faster than using a trackpad I figured not to get that Nano textured glass because I'm just going to put a screen protector over it to protect my investment I bring my iPad everywhere when I go on photo shoots

3600 USD for the fully spec'd 13" new iPad Pro is just ridic AF!
For 3600 USD, you can get a high end gaming rig, a full computer that can run modern AAA games with high resolution and high details... it doesn't matter how "good" the new iPad Pro is, that kind of money is just not justifiable for a tablet.

It's like the iPad Pro's trying to be a laptop, but Samsung's got its own Pad game going strong. Apple's iPad Pro? Just a supersized version of the iPhone, talk about underwhelming!
