If there is an elite female athlete who has really struggled throughout the 2024 season, then it must be the fastest woman alive Jamaica’s sprint sensation Elaine Thompson-Herah. See, Elaine has had a rather roller-coaster season. And even though she was expected to defend her Olympic titles in both the 100 and 200 meters at the Paris Olympics, she failed to do so due to an injury which she picked up early in the season at the 2024 USATF NYC Grand Prix which forced her to withdraw from the Jamaican Olympic Trials. But this is not the first time we’ve seen Elaine in this kind of debacle. Last season, Elaine Thompson-Herah equally sustained an injury a couple of weeks before the 2023 World Championships which resulted in her dismal performance at the national trials and at the Worlds.
