I know I'm late to the game here, but I'm in the planning stages of making something similar. I think there are two issues at play here, and both are "simple enough" to fix. Change the lever, or "fulcrum point" position of the steering arm that is in the center of the frame. (The bar that both wheels connect to in front, and the servo arm connects in the back...the bolt holding it onto the frame is your pivot point) The servo side of this arm need to be as long as possible, with the highest amount of swing radius, this is then fine-tuned with the servo arm length and mounted position. The wheel side of this same bar needs to be as short, or as close to the frame as you can get. Thus giving you max leverage and minimum effort. Next, is to tackle the power of your steering servo itself. It's probably too weak. (25kg-35kg for ex.) Consider and upgrade to something as hefty as a 75kg servo. The added torque will help move that weight under load. Combine the two, and you should be on to something. Good luck!

Anyway, you could consider a steering with "Ackermann" geometry:

Excellent project and work! Exactly what I was looking for. What do you plan to do for the brakes? I am thinking about reverse the drive motor. Any better ideas?

You can use a wiper motor which converts into a powerful server motor. Then the functionality is easy and you can access variable speeds with PWM for steering.

I hope this is rear steering.
    If not, do as
    nonconformist suggested.
If it is front steer then it will always want to turn left or right.
It is front, I would recommend turning the whole axle assembly 180 degrees.

It's very good only the turning mechanism is poorly designed and it can shock absorbers too.

You need around the screws still compensation sleeves to minimize the play in the steering

Use rack and pinion or linear actuator for steering.

For your steering you have to do some research on Ackermann/ caster/ camber and your king-pin inclination. Without these fundamentals you are wasting your time, no matter how big or small you build

It's too slow to steer it like this . That won't allow you to go fast enough .
Try using a lever mechanism or simply the distance between the thread turner and the middle joints shorter and the distance between the front wheels rodes joints and the middle joints longer until you get the best ratio between torque and speed "in steering of course" .
And sorry for some bad vocabularies I am not native at English

Yes, it's a bit slow to turn. I will try to follow the instructions. To get good results
      Thanks so much

Windsheild wiper motor. I think they're Stepper(?) Your motor set up is a cool idea but I think its a lot of pressure on the bar n motor when baring weight. Jmo. Nice project though. X~[θ]~X
