Took my test back in May got a 91.72% with 150 questions, passed the CPAT in July and just did my oral interview the 16th and got a 90% on it! I’m testing for Rockford, IL Fire department thanks for the vids Final update: I just received a verbal offer for the Rockford Fire Department. The 18 week academy starts July 31st
@@fernyfloresdrummer3568 I’d say give yourself a month with no distractions and 30-40 min a day a dedicated to studying or brushing up on any subjects you feel you need to. Idk what your test will consist of but I’m sure it will be similar to some RUclips videos posted that you can watch like this one.
It is basically standard math and reading but also, reading directions and using a map to choose the best route, gear rotations, pulley physics, load weight and balance etc
I wanted to send a BIG thank you your way! I just passed my written test and I have my physical agility test next friday. I dont think I could have had the confidence I had walking into the test without your videos. Thank you so much for all the time and effort you put into your videos!
Just wanted to say your video’s have helped me tremendously. I just took my civil service test and the foam today. I studied by watching your test prep series and using the practice problems. I would not have been able to do it without. Thanks for the help and all your videos.
Hey Mike, I just took my FireTEAM test today after preparing for the test with these videos. I can say that these helped tremendously and made the test feel like a breeze after practicing so much. I feel like I did great and wanted to thank you for providing such a helpful resource
Thanks for all the videos! Took my test today in Tennessee and passed after failing it about a year ago. Haven’t studied anything since I got out of school in 2007, thank you!
I’m taking a civil service this Saturday, I’ve watched through your playlist twice now. I appreciate you taking your time making these videos, they have helped me a ton!
Hi just wanted to say I used these tutorials to study for my volunteer firefighter exams here in Ontario, CAN. and I passed! Our exam had a lot more word problems and reading comprehension than math questions and barely any mechanical reasoning.
I take my physical and written test this coming up monday! I’ve been watching a lot of your videos to better prepare myself for this! Thank you so very much for all of your videos, they are very helpful!
I just wanted to update here, I passed both my written and physical test today. There was 16 of us there, not all of us are going to be hired onto the department, but we will know here soon. Thank you for all of your help with your videos, you helped me tremendously. I spent time months in advance watching your videos and taking notes. I advise anyone to do the same as well. They will be able to tell who really worked for their spot on the team. Never give up if you fail, get right back up and try again, you got this!
Im taking my written exam this Saturday 9/9/23, I feel prepared and nervous at the same time and have gone through this playlist multiple times, Thank you for all the videos to help everyone prepare!
Hey how does this work if you are unable to get a passing score will your results automatically be sent over or can you retest and send passing results ? Thank you
Hey there, I am 40 years old this year I’m looking and have already applied to the fire department in the county I live in. Three reasons I love leader ship I love maintaining individual/team equipment, And I love being a part of a team and going through the ups and downs with those members. As I work in garden centers/ nurseries in retail environments, Civil service is in could look like a dramatic change. I have a physical ability test scheduled next week for the past year after being able to help through Lowe’s those who were affected by a tornado I looked at some civil service type jobs fire fighter stood out. Therefore I’ve been training for the last seven months running push-ups sit ups I’m already in good shape it is by far has gotten me to my peak. I think the biggest obstacle is my age what are your thoughts on this are there anyone in other departments that I’ve joined this late in their life.
Where can I find the worksheets to follow along with these videos? I've watched all of these before and they have helped a lot, I have another test coming up and would like to print out the worksheets so I can follow along better as we go through problems.
Glad you found it helpful! There's an entire video series on the test and the interview when you get to that point. Also there's tons of other resources on firefighternow.com. Good luck on the 28th!
Nice video content! Sorry for chiming in, I would appreciate your opinion. Have you heard about - Rozardner Lucky Interview Reality (do a google search)? It is a great exclusive guide for firefighter interview tips without the headache. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my GF at very last got excellent results with it.
Are there any videos on spatial and directional awareness? I can't find much on this subject and it seems to be the subject I struggle with the most. My department I am applying for gives you a book of maps and then gives you an hour to look at them, and then sends you to lunch, then you come back and have to answer questions about those maps.
Hello Mike! The department that I’m applying for (Milford, CT) uses the firefighter M-100 test. Will this prep course be beneficial for this written test? Thanks in advance!
I’m taking this exam for a fire department in my area. I’ve been studying the whole month from brushing up on math and other things. I’m only 19 going into this, any suggestions?
Can you give me a quick list of things I will have to accomplish to become of our prior. I’m gonna start by getting my EMT certification. I’m not gonna do paramedic. What happens after EMT.? Is there one written test you have to pass or multiple tests? What is the sequence?. Thank you very much
If I’m dyslexic should I tell them/ bring proof ? Don’t really want to stand out as that guy however this means it takes me longer to read therefore longer to complete tests than others so I don’t want to stand out in that way either.. anyone with experience able to give their thoughts?
When he says taking test after test after test it confuses me . I live in Indiana have been applying to all the departments for two years , I am just now getting the opportunity to take a test for one , if I fail I feel like I won’t get another shot for a long time . Am I going about this process wrong ? How are you guys getting so many chances to test ?
So basically you are telling this is not possible to take a test 1st time and usually people need take test after test… so at least twice. Does it mean if I fail I can apply again at the same academy ?
Hello unfortunately I didn’t pass my test they told me in an email it is just pass or fail and that if need to get above a 70% so i don’t know how close i was to that 70% but they also said i won’t be able to take it again until next year I just wanted to know if that was normal(this is a career department by the way) I’m confused as to why I’d have to wait a whole year and not maybe a couple weeks or months to retake the written exam and what could my next choice of action should be I’m also looking into volunteer departments in my area but I’m worried the same thing might happen I fail and have to wait another year to retest

It’s very normal, they usually have to wait for spots to open up, it really depends on when people either leave or retire
Just curious, I just took the exam on Saturday and it's now Thursday. When do you usually know your score on the test?
usually a couple of weeks, but can depend on the department.
Oh boy I am not very smart.
does this help with the NY firefighter test
