Thanks for the video, cool info in there! Sadly non of these routes and pulls work if you aren´t prot paladin. currently struggling on 14+ cause I can´t survive pulling big enough to time. :(
No problem! Unfortunately when we start getting into the higher keys the routes definitely get more comp restrictive. Would recommend checking out Bansherz channel which I'll link below, he's a hunter player but plays in a full off-meta comp so their routes may make more sense for you! www.youtube.com/@bansherz
As a tank, I had the frontal on me maybe 2-3 times without a DPS down. Maybe a missed it and someone jumped on me last sec and I missed it? I always thought tank was one of the possible targets.
I'm pretty sure it can't pick the tank, looking back at this VOD even it definitely targets the person next to me and not me, and I don't believe I've been picked as a target in any of the runs I've done this season, could just be crazy luck though.
Is having an enhance shammy mandatory for most keys 15 and above? A lot of the dps checks for some bosses/adds seemed steep for example the first boss in mist 15
I wouldnt say mandatory, as proven by Raider.IO's Break the Meta event this week and teams timing all the way up to +17s with a full off meta comp. That being said, it's clearly the best DPS spec right now, so most top teams will take advantage of that for sure.
No addon, just a mix of myself/the rogue marking mobs combined with players using a popular mouseover macro that sets a mob as focus and puts a designated marker on it. Here is the macro if you're interested: /focus [@mouseover] /script SetRaidTarget("mouseover",1) Where the 1 can be changed to a different number to put a different marker on the mob.
are 3rd boss tornadoes bated on players? I hadn't heard the max melee thing before, that's helpful. Super sketchy to have a bad tornado as a tank and I could never figure out why it would only happen occasionally
what are your thoughts on playing the lavabenders if you're not pulling them with the four pack? I have a hard time convincing my group to play them because they don't want to commit cds and/or lust into 2 mobs, but my take is you have a bunch of bad options. I like skipping a molten giant pack in 2nd boss area just cause they seem inefficient as far as count per hp, but they're required if you skip the lavabenders. I've seen some groups play the pack after 3rd boss into that dragon which is a cool idea. I do like what you guys did with 4 pack into lavabenders with cds but it just seems like a low success rate pull for my group (we're borderline low title range right now, but having fun LOL)
not a lot you can skip its mostly hold w dungeon those lavabenders on 14+ are scary and you should skip them especially since molten giant pack is a nothing burger good % and like tactkys said if they are stunned before you go in you only have to worry about one lava fist pack after 3rd with dragon seems quite scary and not worth it stick to what is safe bro, it's not about the 3.7k rio its about timing the key with your group
I've seen some of the highest keys in this key timed both pulling or skipping the lavabenders, so really it kind of comes down to personal preference. There really isn't a ton of choice in the dungeon though so you end up making things like the first pull and one of the pulls before 3rd boss significantly more difficult imo, but it does save you from the scary (and low target count if you're not pulling anything onto it) double lavabenders. So really it just kind of depends where you want the difficulty in the route, which is the long way of saying both can work hahaha.
Definitely possible, though with these advanced routes I do often include certain comp specific pulls/tech just because it's more targeted at pushing for the 0.1% title where a lot of players tend to reroll meta specs.
Yeah depends on the dungeon/pull length but definitely need to stop and drink from time to time. Really wish Shining Light just had some sort of mana cost reduction on it and that would entirely eliminate that issue because it's definitely weird when a tank needs to stop and drink more than a healer lmao.
Always appreciate your advanced series bro
Happy to help!
Thanks for the advanced series of walkthroughs. Great info and insight!
No problem at all, glad you enjoyed it!
Best guide ive read so far.
Happy you found it useful!
Good stuff as always.
Glad you enjoyed it!

you may have mentioned it in another video that i haven't seen or forgot, but what addon is doing the auto marking of mobs?

My understanding is its based on player positioning yeah, so as long as your melee arent inside the boss hitbox the tornados shouldn't hit you.

I hate Grim Butthole thank you for this lol
Definitely not my favourite dungeon this season that's for sure hahaha. Glad you found the vid useful!
I feel like these pulls wouldn't work on a Brewmaster, just that first pull alone would exhaust all of our defensives and we'd still be super squishy.
Definitely possible, though with these advanced routes I do often include certain comp specific pulls/tech just because it's more targeted at pushing for the 0.1% title where a lot of players tend to reroll meta specs.
Do you ever get mana starved? I've had to stop and drink as a prot pally. Ridiculous prot needs mana imo.
