Take out 60 and the 3 iron and put in the 52 an a 7 wood. You don’t need the 60. You can do almost everything also with the 56. And the 7 wood is so versatile in the rough, on the fairway or to chip. Try it!
I had 14 clubs in my bag that went like this from bottom to top > Putter, 60, 56, 52, 48, PW(43), 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4h, 3W, Dr. I got tired of having such a full bag all the time and I tried out switching the 56 and 60 for a 58. I kept the 52. Switched the 48 and PW for a 46 PW. I dropped the 4H and 3 wood and Picked up a 7 wood and a 3HL wood which really is just a 4 wood. Then to force myself to really play the 7 wood I just kept leaving the 5 iron in the car. It feels like it has really improved my game quite a bit honestly having less choices, just feels like less decision fatigue.

Takomo, I want your irons! Ditch the 4 Iron. You like the 3i so keep it, the other big clubs can fill in the gaps up there. Then get your 52°. To be honest, last year I gave up half my clubs, as it was stifling hot, and I loved it. Super light, and the lack of choice made me work on my half and 3/4 swing. I played driver, 5w, 5i, 7i, 9i, SW and putter. I have put more clubs back in, (because of course), but they have only been PW, 56 and 60, ditching the SW which was held over from an old set and I liked it, but it was a beat up hippo and looked really of place.
Takomo I want your irons. Depending on spacing at the top end of the bag I’d suggests removing the 3 iron. I personally have 4 wedges as I’d rather play a full shot with a wedge on to the green so I have a 48 52 56 and 60. Great video and really light hearted as always.

I like the driver/5 wood combination, I presume that your set has 4-9 irons and the two pitching wedges. the 101 wedge has a loft of 44 degrees, and the 201 has a loft of 46 degrees. As a golf club fitter, I am surprised that the two wedges have such a wide difference in distances. I am generally in agreement with an earlier comment, lose the lob wedge and keep the 201 and 52 degree, as most shots that require a lob wedge can be accomplished with the 56 (I use a 54, for gapping). As you are a single digit handicap golfer, I am sure that you practice regularly. Good Luck!

I’ve had a 60 in the bag for years and only just seen the light that you can manipulate the 56 to cover that yardage. Threw in the 52 to hit the gap between the PW and 56. Also meant I got to keep my 2iron in.

Takomo I want your irons. I would dump the 3 iron and do more wedges. I like 50, 54, 58 for wedges. Use my wedges way more than long Irons. No 4 iron for me either...23 degree and 19 degree hybrid and a driver for long clubs.....Play what you are comfortable with and gives you good gapping between them all. KEEP UP THE GOOD VIDEOS!!

This allows for a 54 and 50 assuming the PW is around 45/46 degrees which gets the gap a little closer. Or you could leave deloft your other PW, if its a case of feel and preference that might be a good idea.

Takomo I want your irons. What’s the difference in lofts between all your wedges Liam? I’m going through the same issue at around 100 yards. 54 is great for 85, wedge around 154. Have the option to go 52, 56 or add 50. Rarely use 54 in bunkers but love the 75-85 yard shot. Great video

For your bag, I would add in a 52 to bridge the gap between your pitching wedge and 56 and remove your other PW. It's either that or take out the 3i and use driver/woods instead? Other than that they look great and you hit them really well, even if off centre!
Take out one of the clubs too end mayb longest iron. Cam always use other clubs when far from green (OK to b short of green) but to try play a certain distance with wrong loft close to green is bigger problem get gapping correct in short irons/wedges good luck
Takomo I want your irons I use Garmin and had the same issue… but I used the Garmin over 10+ rounds to understand what distances I usually leave myself and what I feel uncomfortable hitting. I took out my 60 as I can do the same things with my 56 as my 60. Also, I would get very steep on my 60 so I never used it for long shots so it was basically only in my bag for around the green and bunkers. Now I mainly use my PW and 56 around the green and my 56 in the bunker. You have the data, definitely use it to your advantage and understand what clubs you use the most.

Takomo, I want your irons! I would keep the driving iron (3U), remove the 4 and add a gap wedge - that's because you want to keep the 2 PWs... otherwise I would ditch one of the PW, add a GW. Then you can "play" with the long irons versus fairway woods!

Hi Liam, Takomo I want your irons, leave out your 4 iron and your 60 degree and substitute a 7 wood and the 52 degree. Practice with a 56 (with 9 degrees bounce), it will do everything your 60 degree will do but better and with more forgiveness and you will have a high and low option off the tee on tight holes by keeping your 3 iron and adding the 7 wood. The 7 wood is such a flexible club all over the place including pitch and runs from greenside roughish lies

Hi Liam. I’m a big fan and watch all your videos. A 60 degree wedge is great in the summer but now winter is approaching take it out and put in your 52. Grass isn’t cut quite so short and the ground can get very wet and muddy. Oh by the way Takomo I want your irons! 👍
