  • A federal judge last month ordered the “compassionate release” of Onta Williams, Laguerre Payen & David Williams, three Hudson valley men who were previously convicted of terrorism related offenses in a case known as the "Newburgh Four." In a scathing opinion, Judge Colleen McMahon called the plot an "FBI orchestrated conspiracy," decried the tactics used by the FBI, and expressed sympathy for the defendants, young Black Muslim men who in her words were "hapless, easily manipulated and penurious petty criminals."
