Thanks so much, terribly helpful info. I need to remove the top of the machine in order to leave a decent gap beneath the counter top. Please could explain how to remove the lid/top?

Normally it is just a couple of screws on the back of the machine that hold the lid secured into place.

I have just purchase this model and my door is not opening fully help.

That sounds odd, i assume the machine is level, as it can affect the door opening or closing if the appliances is not completely level.
