Had to watch this one twice because my niece loved the ladybug and hamster (?) cakes as well as everything with strawberries (her favorite). Ichigo seems to be a popular fruit in Japan. I had a dessert with strawberry wrapped with mochi and red bean (ichigo daifuku I think it was called? Sorry for spelling) and the strawberry was the most juiciest I have ever had. I had one almost everyday during my two week trip there lol
Strawberry Daifuku is a perfect combination of the sourness of the strawberries and the sweetness of the azuki beans. It is also one of my favorite foods. I am glad that you like this Japanese sweet. I think I surprised your niece with the scene of the hamster being eaten.
Thanks for the comment. I recommend Fujiya's cakes because they are hearty and filling. Dalloyau, on the other hand, is good in that you can eat many kinds of cakes because of its smaller size.
