The boss in the center of the block is for the knock sensor. I worked at the Romeo Engine Plant and worked on the line building 4.6L 2V and 4V as well as the Bullitt and 5.4L 4V Navigator engines for 18 years. Chances are 50/50 that I had my hands on all of those engines at some point. Best of luck with the Vic!
That's some really viable knowledge man, and that's so cool you worked building those motors!
The engine I got for my PI swap came from a 2007 Townie and it looks like it has 2 knock sensors, there's one wire sticking out from under the intake that I have nowhere to plug into in my 99 townie...And also the insulation around the plenum of the intake that is in the valley is cracking apart leaving hard chucks of foam rubber on my engine...
Thinking of just replacing the insulation with a gold heat reflective foil...Not that I'd really see it, but it kinda makes sense to reflect heat from the intake...I don't care about intake sounds...I like engine noises anyways
You had better go for the better Aluminium Intake or You will be sorry! And speaking of Sorry were is the Galaxie????
I would had replaced the timming set before i took it off the engine stand thats is what kills 90% of 2 valves
Dude I got the motor from did it already
In before the X pipe and Neighborhaters
Engine masters proved it doesn't change anything power wise if you smash up your headers
Needs the victor hr aluminum intake.
please show how snappy she is with the new flywheel, im building a drift mystic cobra. built engine with lightweight flywheel, the vic looks good man!
So swappin p.i stuff on mustang gt engine and when people look under hood ya its "stock"
Reminds me of when I had my Thunderbirds with PI swapped modular components. Yup, all stock. Haha. ;)
What was the super shine product you put on the intake manifold? Shop Supply Tire Shine?
I always love the montage music you use....
What’s up with the f100 Qweg ?
I don't think you realize but this is the only video I have seen on RUclips where someone fit mustang headers (longtube) on a crown vic (if I'm wrong show me the video) gonna order some mustang headers and get to smashing and cutting for my 99 crown vic
I have a 2011 Vic, may do the same. Probably find used Mustang headers on ebay instead of buying Vic headers. Now if I could just get pedals so I can 5 speed my Vic all would be good.
The weird tube locations is because they're equal length headers. They make the longest tube first which will be almost a straight shot, then they make the rest the same length, which means you have to add some bends that seem to go nowhere and have no function but their function is to add length
The non pi bottom end with pi heads will have more compression than a stock pi motor. Richard holdner did a great dyno video on a non pi/pi combo
Intercepter motors came with a bigger alternator and a metal intake
does every car guy have the explorer fold up chair? ive git one too lol
Damn I was hoping to hear it fire off!!
😎🏴☠️
I think the Mustang headers are like that so the steering shaft can run through the middle of the header. My LS swap Foxbody headers I used in my 84 F150 are the same way.
Why'd you put a crappy ass engine in a bad ass Ford? Before you tell me the LS is a better engine, I'll remind you I wrench on a blown LS front engine dragster. The owner has nothing but problems with it, too.
@@JasonMyers-c6z They’re cheaper to build than a Coyote, was easier for me to find one, and it seems there is more aftermarket support for them. Also, sounds like he needs a new mechanic.
Sorry but, that's the lazy way out going with an LS. Put it in a Camaro if you're a Chevy guy. My buddy builds race engines for a living. He knows what he's doing.
@@JasonMyers-c6z Not sure why you’re so worked up over my build. Never asked for your opinion nor do I care. Have fun watching your buddies build stuff since you don’t know how to
LMFAO 😂😂 Have you ever wrenched on a top fuel car as part of a team? No? Didn't think so. I currently do. I wouldn't be on the team if I was a dumb ass.
"It has new guides, I'll show you those....." goes on to never show them. 😂 Fun build though.
Has everything but the Victor jr aluminium intake manifold😏
I look forward to these videos by Craig. The build, hands dirty vids. 💪🏽
Cool to see the Vic get some work done! Excited to see the start up video. What’s the fuel management system?
Great video Craig!
The vid was great, but longer vids would be sick!
The cvpi alternator is a 400 amp unit, to run all the extra electronics in a police car.
The loaf of bread🤣. As a diabetic, I have one on standby for any lows that would hit me lol.
Lightweight flywheel will really make it snappy
You do very nice work. That extra step is nice to see
The headers actually look better that way
Can we get more content on the bullnose please 🙏🏽
Race car application, lol.
Get it some camshafts and a better intake
Twin disc clutch lol.
great stuff thanks
Google Ford🤑🤑😀😀
Ford content only please. 😁
I second this.
First
Where did you get the roll bar for the Vic?😎🇺🇸
Franklin and I built it
@@Thecraig909 nice work as always!😎
Those waterpumps can be fun to remove
Ha! I was repairing a heater tube leak and decided that 33ok miles was enough on the original water pump. Put a new Motorcraft that was for a 3v engine and it has some sort of knock about it I can't figure out. Sometimes we do things to be pre-emptive and still get whacked.
@leethomas9198 yep, I swore I had a spun bearing or something, but it was just the waterpump.
I know of an abandoned 2001 Mach 1 with a manual. The body is rusted but the 3v drivetrain and ram air intake has potential. I hate seeing it go to waste
Right hand drive conversion! 15:35
Working with passion as always. 🫡
