Awsome video thanks very clearly explained and shot. I may attempt this as I have just bought my first SAAB. It's making a right scrunching. / creaking noise from the front when going over speedbumps. I dont think its engine mounts but may be worth trying to do this, that said I only have a jack and set of axel stands so might be a bit difficult without a ramp. Anyway great video man im gonna look at your other SAAB videos.

Thanks for watching! It sounds like you have suspension related issues. The noise could be caused by the inner front anti roll bar 'D' bushes which can creak when going over speed bumps. There'll not be any play in them. They just dry out causing the noise. Mine do the same sometimes. Polyurethane items as a replacement would solve it 👌

Good camera angles. So first I should jack up the engine a bit, then open the allen screw and then the bolts, and then the same thing reversed?

Yeah, support the engine so as to not have the threads strained when loosening and also to prevent the drivetrain from falling. Ideally, the position of the engine/gearbox should remain roughly the same, so the mounts line up easier 👌

Приветствую! У моего сына SAAB 9-3. 2,0 t. 2001г.в. B 205 EDA. В подрамнике и на подушке сорваны болты. Что можно сделать? Есть мнение, просверлить подрамник на сквозь и стянуть крепление подушки. Правильно или нет?

Hi there. Thanks for the video. I've a Saab 9-3 Viggen and have a reoccurring clunk from the passenger side front when going over uneven surfaces. I've replaced shocks and top suspension mounts and suspension arms, but it still remains. The car has a Viggen Rescue Kit subframe brace at the bottom of the engine and I'm thinking it could be the engine mounts sagging and the front exhaust pipe (or other engine part) making contact with the subframe brace. What do you think? Cheers.

My exhaust downpipe near the sump runs close to the subframe brace, so I'd say check that first 👍🏽

p.s. do you run as a garage and take work on? I'm based in the North East.

@@AndyTink-b1gI work at and partially manage the garage, owned by my father. I wouldn't recommend bringing your car during the working week, as he'll just rinse you and have the car for much longer than necessary. I don't receive any kind of bonus or commission for bringing work to the business. We charge £75/hr labour +vat, so any repairs needed, I'd do in my own time, at the workshop at the weekend, for a much more reasonable price. Being a few miles away, I'm not sure how that'd work.
