I can't remember her name but she's the best presenter I've heard so far deal with Stanley Unwin. As Eric Morecambe said to Andre Previn before that famous sketch, everyone involved has to play it straight. That's what makes the whole thing funny. Too many presenters either tried to be funny themselves, or made it obvious they didn't understand a word the Prof was saying as if he was just talking gibberish, which was a bit of a fizzbang partypoop. Whereas, the funny thing to do is to go along with it leaving the audience to just enjoy the overall silliness. Brava! Whoever she was.
Stanley Unwin was brilliant. But did dyou notice the high standard of interviewer the BBC used in those days? Pefect English and well mnnered and well dressed. I wish The BBC (at least) would bring back those standards. And now we are to lose Paxman.... Deep folly.

Stanley Unwin was absolutely unique. In the clip he had an instant and relevant response to every question, showing what a sharp mind he had.
