Scanner is the most important thing you need to scan everything so you can get new blueprints which will allow you to craft new stuff and if you want to build a base or something you need to get few blueprints and get more rare items so you can create the builder that allows to build bases and read everything that the pda give you info about.

i've made a plan for you to follow, in case you want!
Things you might've already done (i have not watched the whole vid yet so idk lol sorry):
    - Get a high capacity O2 tank
    - Get the knife
    - Get the scanner
    - Get the seaglide
    - Get the respirator, allows to have more oxygen
    What you should do next:
    - Get the mobile vehicle bay, this can be done by looking for fragments inside crates either in the kelp forests (the green thingies) or the grassy plateaus (the area with the red grass)
    - After getting the mobile vehicle bay, look in the grassy plateaus for seamoth fragments, this will be your primary mode of transport throughout the whoke game
    - Grassy plateaus also has many important resources: gold, silver, titanium, copper, lots of scrap metal which can be turned into titanium, and fragments such as bioreactor fragments, waste disposal (bin) fragments, table fragments, etcetera. It also has some important wrecks containing very useful items too, check those out.
    - Craft a habitat builder, it will let you make bases for you and Skellyteeth. I heavily advise this, as the life pod sucks. Keep in mind, your base will need a strong power source, so this is where you craft that bioreactor i mentioned earlier and with the builder tool place it in a room of it's own. Then put things like fish or plants into it, and it will power your base very well. You could use solar panels, which are a lot cheaper to make, but they only charge your base during daytime.
    - When you have all the fragments and materials, climb your mobile vehicle bay and craft the sea moth. It's very worth it!
That's all i can tell you for now, in the meantime, explore!

You should try out SOMA, it's _a bit_ of a horror game, decent story if you pay attention to it, and the underwater sections in it really spiked my fears of thalassophobia. Just know that it's more focused on telling a story over having a ton of game mechanics like some other horror games. (Think of it as Outlast)
