I found you from your series about database (I suppose you were a lot younger in the series) and I love how you deliver the message to your audience :) Great!

What also worked for me 7 years back (when I was starting with dev and I wanted to get into a big company), was to get a job I was not focusing on. I wanted a different job, but was fine with other kind of job with lower requirements in the same company. After some time there was a need to fill a job position I wanted and they will always prefer to just move you inside the company then to create a job posting and do another price and time consuming job posting process.
Not saying you should grab anything they have, I went for a position that I just was not really interested in, but I did not hate it or anything like that. And it helped me check out the company too, if I want to work there, get some contacts and experience etc. I am still working at that company, at the job I wanted all along and I am very happy there.

I've been following your content for a while now and just wanted to say thanks for teaching me c++. You're the first developer I ever watched a video on and now it's been over a year of building things I never thought I could.
