One common post COVID symptom I noticed was a constant strange feeling that prices were going up and energy was ridiculously expensive. Those symptoms often coincided with a paranoia that we were somehow living in a perpetual state of emergency with emergency use authorizations being the new normal.
Thank goodness those are just neurological side effects and they're not real, or that really would be bad.

For what it's worth, I was hospitalized with covid pneumonia and a collapsed lung. I required oxygen supplementation for 5 months. Breathing is still compromised. For over one year, my short memory was so poor, that I described it as complete absentmindedness. It has been a very slow progression out of this condition. Two years later my memory is much better, but still not like it used to be. I am grateful for the progress but hard to know what might be next. I was infected prior to vaccine roll out, so I never took the jab.

But the after-effects left me feeling like I was mildly hung over for about 2 months with chronic fatigue and lack of focus and concentration. I have had it twice first probably Delta variant and second omicron. Was very ill with first episode and was slow to recover. Also experienced depression and fatigue for several months afterwards. Did not experience that with second episode. I am in my sixties and have other health problems. I am very much into taking supplements and intermittent fasting and although I am not on keto, I do restrict my carb and sugar intake. I could tell for awhile after both episodes that I was feeling a lot of inflammation throughout my body and concentrated on natural antiinflammatories which I believe have helped me recover along with my diet restrictions. So I can't stress enough how much I believe everyone should concentrate on following anti- inflammation practices following episodes of COVID. Thank you for all your work towards keeping us all informed and educated throughout this terrible time. I would just like to add my own personal anecdotal experience. My sister (61) caught covid,, it lasted about 2 weeks. She was poorly and bed ridden for a couple of days, she said it was no worse than having a very heavy cold. After she recovered she suffered 'brain fog', felt confused occasionally and forgetful. Twice she went to a cash point and walked away with the money hanging out the machine (never done that before) There were other less extreme examples, however, today, she's absolutely fine and her old self. I would say it took about 3 months. So in her case, it was not lasting. We've since talked about this to other and this seems normal. It's effect wears off. Hope that helps someone.

But since I got the omicron one, I have had neurological problems and other strange issues that have not gone away. It’s been several months. It’s very frustrating. I had been investigated for high blood pressure just before this and during the infection my BP dropped dramatically, it was very scary. Since then I have been having palpitations constantly, especially straight after meals and then 10/11 hours later. THis wakes me every single night at specific hours. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 2017 at 47 years of age, as such the thought of contracting Covid on top of that daily struggle has been a major concern. Fortunately I’ve managed to avoid Covid so far. “Touch wood” as they say. However, almost all of what you mentioned here I suffer from as a part of the numerous symptoms associated with Fibromyalgia. A condition that formed out of an acute viral infection that doctors couldn’t diagnose. The more fatigued I get the more violent the myoclonus is, along with increased pain & a decline in my cognitive function. If I’m having a good day & over do it physically or even mentally I will pay for it the day or days after. Some mornings I wake up & can’t walk or I shuffle like I’m a Parkinson’s patient. Others I can’t formulate words or full sentences, written or verbally. By 2019 I couldn’t work or drive as I couldn’t process or organise my thoughts. I was emotionally & physically broken, severely depressed & suicidal.
Early on in the pandemic when accounts of long Covid were surfacing the symptoms were identical to how my condition started & that of so many others with fibromyalgia. The only thing missing was the increased neurological symptoms you’ve gone through today.
I truly feel for these people who are going through these symptoms, particularly if they were healthy before Covid as it’s so much to come to terms with, being unwell to some degree all day, every day. As of today there is no cure for most of these conditions only drugs to manage the symptoms which come with their own side effects that can often be worse than the condition itself.
I found it tough to accept when I was once career oriented, working 40+hrs a week, fiercely independent, driving to work, visiting family & friends and I had a memory like an elephant. Now I’m an entirely different person as a result of my condition. While I’m working again it’s only 20-25 hrs from home, which I break up with daytime naps. I managed the pain with a low dose of slow release opioids at night, as sleep is vital to coping physically & mentally. I soak in magnesium rich baths & since the pandemic I’ve found meditation extremely helpful. I grow my own produce in raised garden beds as the responsibility for the plant life & that of my fur babies is a force that gets me moving every day. That and my godsend of a husband. I’ve had to learn to listen closely to my body & all about pacing. If I can’t do it today it will still be there tomorrow. The earth still spins & the sun still shines and I do what I can. I savour the little things so much now & look for something every day that makes me laugh & smile. Once I accepted how my body & mind is now, I can honestly say I have never been happier.
I hope all those suffering today find peace, love & laughter tomorrow ❤

This possible bias is what the control groups are for. The contemporary control group is a cohort of people who would have undergone the same mental stress as the ones who got infected with Covid. For every 5 people in the control group with those kinds of disorders, 7 in the infected group had them. The only thing that can account for the extra 2 people is the fact that they caught Covid at some point. They even had a pre-pandemic control group. The vast numbers make this a solid result.

I achieved Distinction level English in the final high school year, and, I was the editor of the aforestated publication. Grammar and spelling errors in our national and local newspapers in New Zealand are riddled with them. I began to notice this during the lockdown in our country. It has since worsened. My 83-year-old mom caught Covid in the hospital in early December 2020. Her respiratory symptoms were very mild, but within a few days, she became lethargic, bedridden, nonverbal and needed total assistance during mealtimes, etc. Prior to Covid, she didn’t have dementia (unlike my dad). After a few weeks of no improvement of cognitive symptoms, she was placed in hospice care in a nursing home. Her hospice nurse told me that she has seen many elderly patients experience similar neurological issues (dementia-like symptoms) after a Covid infection in people without a dementia diagnosis prior to infection. She also has seen people have their dementia dramatically accelerated after Covid, and people with moderate to severe dementia die after Covid within a few weeks. My mom never improved and passed away 8 months later.

Thank you for sharing this message. I am struggling with so many of the symptoms you've discussed after having covid in July 2020. I was not hospitalized but have not been capable of working or a return to baseline health since falling ill. Previously a well seasoned senior manager, daily 10km runner and enjoyed yoga and cooking from scratch, non smoker, non drinker, healthy weight and strength. I now struggle with very basic daily activities, yet to the general public, I appear "normal and healthy " without body parts in plaster casts, so many refuse to acknowledge that some of us are truly struggling and desperate to return to our former selves. Thank you for all of your contributions, it's so appreciated.
Editing to add, my current primary symptoms (since July 2020): extreme brain fog, short term memory loss/ forgetfulness, daily upsetting heart palpitations, daily strong heart pressure like a firm heavy hand is pushing down on my heart only, not on surrounding areas of the heart, musculoskeletal weakness as diagnosed by a Cardiologist requiring rehabilitation, extreme fatigue, chronic diarrhea in the vicinity of 8hrs per day, which has caused huge deficiencies in critical areas including extreme anaemia with multiple IV's not yet improving my levels, extreme zinc deficiency requiring a compounded script of 440mg per day (40mg would ordinarily be considered a very high dose for the average person), high blood pressure (previously consistently 120/80, it is now averaging 160/110 on 80mg Propanalol per day, though sometimes randomly goes up to 188/120). I have extreme insomnia, loss of taste & smell and anxiety and depression seem to have been inevitable consequences. I have been trying to discipline myself in terms of practicing healthy lifestyle habits, going to bed at the same time, light in the morning, pushing myself to go for walks, focus on nutrition and following my GP and Specialist recommendations. Most recently, my GP has identified some organ issue's that he has requested ultrasounds to investigate. Apparently some from this first wave of covid are now presenting with organ troubles. My natural personality is positive and highly motivated but I must admit, at 45yrs, I did not expect to have such massive concerns and things keep cropping up unexpectedly leaving me feeling disheartened despite my best efforts. I keep reminding myself that this right now is just a very difficult MOMENT. That it will pass and I'm resilient enough to get through it. Because I am, and have experienced what fit and healthy feels like and I'm in hot pursuit to get it back.

I had and still have symptoms starting in December 2019, comprising neurological symptoms (Including severe vertigo), vasculitis, short-duration conjuctivitus, rashes, prodomal fatigue, diahorrea, 24-hour cough, sudden sensations of bodily temperature change, intermittent mild POTs, short duration localised bone pain with multiple sites, shingles, crushing fatigue and day-time sleeping and, now, Faecal Melena (FIT 200), with COVID worsening a pre-existing ulcerative condition in conjunction with its action on Peyer's Patches in the Ileum ?

Each returning episode is usually less severe and shorter duration than its pre-decessor.

Dr. John, This is fascinating...I fit right into this cohort.. I got first wave Covid mid April 2020 from the Biogen group (Boston area), moderate symptoms, for 6 weeks I felt good after initial recovery, then.... Post Covid symptoms started with Migraines. dizziness, fainting (one resulted in concussion), headaches, sound and light sensitivity, myocarditis, extreme fatigue, body aches, dysautonomia, brain fog = Memory Loss, confusion, memory recall problems, stuttering, depression, anxiety and PTSD which is mentioned in many other studies and I'm curious why it isn't included in this one! Post exertional malaise was brought on by slight physical activity as well as brain activity. Definitely felt like ME/CFS. 2 1/2 years later I am still dealing with brain fog, mental health conditions, especially PTSD and what started early on, and has not abated, neurological breathing problems which feels like I can't breathe (trouble inhaling) even though lungs are perfectly fine. I have to move to Hawaii to be in the Trade Winds and out of the New England indoor heating systems so I can breath for 2nd winter starting this November. It is so disruptive to my life. I have not been able to work, it has caused financial strain and strain on my family life. The Covid Long Haul clinic in Boson area won't take me because my PCR test was inconclusive (those early ones had a lot of false negatives) or didn't work. The comprehensive treatment clinic requires a definitive positive test. I hope they spend the $ given for research, etc for more treatment options soon. I pay out of pocket for acupuncture which helps somewhat, but is very expensive when not working. So happy for all those who are experiencing full recovery. I am thrilled for the symptom relief that I have experienced and look forward to the day when all of them are in the rear view mirror.

Have you noticed that the doctor is discussing covid effects and most of the comments are discussing the supposed negative vaccine effects. I could equally think most of these effects could be solely caused by the virus, perhaps worsened by not having taken the vaccine, simply the effects of late covid persistency. I see no basis for so many people here to think the vaccine caused their problems, rather than just covid itself. That's what needs to be investigated; if there is any connection to vaccines, or not. Latent Covid effects I take for certain and therefore I don't even see the benefit of even discussing that, other than how it can be effectively treated.
I'm 71, taken 3 vaccines, not had covid and I'm perfectly fine. Am I the only one?

I am not the best person to answer your question. Perhaps you should watch Dr Jonh's successive podcasts, as they contain information that further elaborates on, for example, the way in which there is no evidence supporting that the MRNA vaccines even work.
Additionally, he provides evidence of parliaments arguing strong points that need to be investigated in relation to the implementation of vaccines and unexplained deaths, without this evidence, which, arguably, suggests that Human Rights were violated, in particularly related to lockdowns, vaccines, employment and literally no testing of whether or not vaccines are affective prior to their implementation, etc.
I too, had 3 Pfizer vaccines, and followed governmental recommendations, etc. but still contracted Covid and was finally validated by a 'Skin Specialist', that I am 'allergic' to the MRNA vaccine, in particularly Pfizer.
For example, my iron levels and vitamin D levels reduced, my potassium levels depleted to the point that I was required a hospital admission and a potassium drip, a 'mole' had to be cut out because it was at risk of turning into melanoma (skin cancer), I got vertigo for the first time in my life and am now susceptible to having it again for the rest of my life, I am now on heart medications and am awaiting another cardiologist appointment for a possible 'stent', my mental health suffered and my antidepressants appear to not be working, I have gained weight from an Australian size 8 to size 12-14, and I suffer bouts of acute on chronic anxiety (panic attacks) more than usual.
After contracting Covid from just one transient visitor, I was hospitalized for 4 days. Lucky I was hospitalized because, at one point in the middle of one of those nights, I was being 'screamed' at by a fearful nurse, to 'Breathe!!'. Had I not been hospitalized; I may have slipped into a 'coma'.
The reasons I had the vaccines was due to governmental pressure, restrictions I did not like, to 'protect' those I love, the non-impactful vaccine experiences from people I asked, the immense fear and guilt instilled into society in general, through television and social media campaigns if I 'did not' have the vaccines, and not wanting to contract the Covid virus and 'die'.
I too, thought I was 'lucky', and somewhat invincible or immune to Covid, because I did not contract it until late into the pandemic. All it took was the right conditions and circumstances.
I do not believe that you are 'not the only one', but I would not be complacent or think for one minute that I am not at risk of getting Covid. I was not prepared as well as I thought I was, when I got it.
      I am 52.
      Thank you for your comment.
      Regards,
      Western Australia

@@sweetheart131255 Wow, sorry to hear that. I do hope you can get through it all.
My step daughter died from heart complications brought on by covid 5 Jan 2020, just a short time after c19 was confirmed as making its way through the Latino community of Houston, Texas and of course well in advance of any vaccines arrival. All hospitals were full and her husband had to take her to three before he was able to get any doctor to see her, but it was too late by that time. She was only 39yrs. I'm retired and live in the EU and not there at the time.
After the vaccines came out, they were not available for some time in my country, but hearing of the controversy, and with my engineering background, I followed the data closely. After doing much data collection and my own analysis, rightly or wrong with no aftereffects data available, O at least determined to my satisfaction, that there was a significant advantage shown in the data, in fact overwhelmingly so, that I should take it. 1 in 20 chance of c19 death was a lot better than 1 in 2 to 3. So I did and fortunately it seems not to have affected me in any adverse manner. Of course I did have an acute awareness of how deadly c19 could be and compared that and the data against what were only rumors of potential adverse side effects at the time, so it appeared to be the winning strategy. Fortunately for me it was. I am very sorry to hear that it may have not been the case for so many others.
I have watched quite a few of the videos, but I am still unable to say if the symptoms are caused by c19, or the vaccines, but it does seem to me that there are a lot more people here with symptoms that have not had the vaccines than your particular case, so I remain confused about that. I would really like to do an analysis again myself to attempt to discern that, but accurate data appears to be extremely hard to come by. 95% of the population was vaccinated here and there has been no coverage of any of this publicly. Nothing about excessive sicknesses, or deaths or anything unusual really, however the authorities are no longer reporting any data about anything at all. The region where I live is very much close-knit and nothing unusual is apparent, not even in the very extensive rumor Mill. Long covid effects do not appear to be present here, no excessive illnesses, no excessive deaths, which if they were true, would surely be visible. Funeral parlors, hospitals and medical offices are few and it would seem that none are experiencing any runover of services. Quite puzzling at the moment, but I'm going to continue to unearth any statistics that might be relevant. I think it is very important to study this fully.
Thanks so much for your answer and I truly hope that you will get better very soon. Take care.

My sincerest sympathy on the loss of your stepdaughter. That experience in itself would have compelled me to grasp on to any possibility of a successful vaccine.
You are very fortunate to be residing in a community with relatively little impact from C19, and subsequent vaccines. Western Australia has also been as fortunate, with the exception of common, random, and unexpected deaths, here and there. With our strong censorship laws, it is difficult to attain information that is not pre-approved by government officials. I wonder why?
Nevertheless, I wish you well in your endeavors to unravel the complexities that appear to only be available to the elite.
      Have a lovely day.

As someone who had brain damage in childhood and am now currently in long covid brain fog, they’re exactly the same. It’s effectively made my learning disability worse. As an example, I’m struggling to type properly, I keep missing/forgetting letters. This used to happen maybe once or twice a day but now it’s happening with more frequency. I was recently made redundant and have no idea how I’m going to be able to get a job in this condition, My short term memory is absolutely shot. The strange thing is, during one bout of covid I had the most amazing spell of cognitive function I’ve ever had, my concentration was through the roof, it was like a smart drug. I’ve never thought that clearly or had concentration like that in my life. I studied electricity from quarks to up to city scale electrical systems and memorised the entire process in two days and every bit of it is still fully accessible. I don’t feel like this fog is permanent though, it comes and goes and is much worse under fluorescent lights for some reason. I think my brain may be used to working under compromised condition’s due to a lifetime of dealing with it, I’m 46.

Now IF they did shed the S protein and IF it did enter your body, then you would make antibodies to that and you would be protected from getting the disease.
So think about it. IF this was a phenomena that did occur ask yourself why would they need to try and vaccinate everyone?
No, Ok then think about it from a so called 'money hungry evil pharmaceutical' company, lets go to the meeting where they would discuss this.
"Hey guys lets make a product that is going to cost us billions to make but we can sell it. However for every one person we vaccinate then 100 other people whom that one comes in contact with would get the vaccine for free as it is shed so we would not get our moneyback."
