That was lovely! Good job guys and thanks for addressing the issues of aging and farmers. We are 73 and 71 and struggling with the same things. We have grandbaby number 14 on the way!!! What a joy this portion of life is with our Lord. Jean Colorado USA
Happy New Year from a Southern neighbor in Alabama!! Found your channel a couple of weeks ago and have throughly enjoyed all of your great videos. Thank you for sharing this wonderful adventure you are on and looking forward to all the good things that 2025 brings.
We enjoy your videos so much!!! We are intrigued by the fleece you use in the greenhouse for cold protection. Is that made for garden row cover or the fleece that is sold by the yard in fabric stores? What a wonderful year!! The adoption of the foster grandchildren made my heart so happy!! And God blessed them with a baby too!! Praying for a most blessed new year to you and yours!!
Thanks for the kind words. The fleece is made for covering crops. Here is one that I use that has held up very well. You can find them in all different sizes and thicknesses. They really help to protect crops from cold/frost.
Pounds come and go with the seasons! Right of passage I’d say! Everything looks amazing! It was my first fall/winter garden.. I grew broccoli and cabbage! Harvested both last month!
"Sometimes things just get snuck in along the way". HAHAHA, we call those squirrels. We have so many "squirrels" at our farm, it is like watching the car insurance commercial where they are in the road and cause the accident. That commercial runs on repeat, all the time, at our place. On the bright side, like your pavilion, sometimes you end up with a nicer renovation "and that works out". 😅
Congratulations on your achievements in 2024!!!!! May 2025 bring even more blessings and abundance. 🙏🏽💞 I can attest to the bees and temperatures. I purchased some Hellebores from trader Joe's to have some winter floral interest ......and the bees were going crazy two days ago when the temperatures rose. My neighbor was afraid because there were so many. I wish I could figure out a way to do a hive....
Thanks for the kind words and well-wishes. The bees were probably thrilled to have some flowers at this time of year. Bees can be challenging, but very interesting....plus the delicious honey.
How do you make your fire cider and elderberry? Your bathroom and kitchen looks nice you accomplished allot this years nice. Another thing to take when your are sick Zinc , bone broth , cut n onion put in the palms of your feet rap over night or on chess ,cut and onion put it by your bed side ,not a doctor but it works ,i Happy New Year
Fire cider is a traditional herbal remedy made by infusing raw apple cider vinegar with a variety of herbs, vegetables, and spices. We did a video on it and it seemed to help this past year. ruclips.net/video/C8j-eM5r0dk/видео.html
I really enjoy your videos! It appeared in one of your trips that you were putting up a windmill? We want one on our farm, preferably 20, 30 ft functional or one of that isn’t. Would you so happen to know where we can get one? Did y’all (I’m from the south) have a good Christmas. Stay well!
@@patriciadewitt3591 Hello, and thanks for writing. This is Don now....I traveled to Peru to install a wind turbine in the Andes Mt with university students in the Engineering Department. We did not install one here at the farm because there is simply not enough wind to make the investment work. Instead solar panels made sense here. Before you consider a wind turbine you need to research the wind in your region...does it make sense? Bottom line...large Turbines in windy regions are great. Small Turbines in calm regions just don't produce enough electricity for the investment. If you search online you can find wind maps.
@ Hi Don! Yes, that did make sense. We do get considerable amounts of wind. Either we use a functional windmill or just have one for looks, a fetish of mine😊. Thank you for all the good information!!
We actually bought sections of rubber roofing from facebook marketplace and cut it into strips that fit our rows. It's very heavy and kills the weeds fast when it's hot and sunny.
New to you guys...... what is fire water or tincture or both. Interested in learning more about natural health care. Wish we had room for a high tunnel.

I'm just now learning about herbal medicines and will be sharing what I learn along the way. I'm hoping to grow and harvest a lot of my own herbs/flowers this season. There is SO much to learn about herbal medicine. We're very thankful for our high tunnel.
Have you thought about getting sheep where you don't have to worry about shearing them? They'll shed their wool on their own. I don't think they escape like goats do.
Be careful when kids get older. Old barns go up in smoke very easily. I know of a beautiful big old white barn in Alberta that burnt down. Not sure if it was teenagers and cigarettes, or mice and old wiring. It was a massive ball of fire during the night and could not be saved. Now, a small metal boring "barn" stands in its place.

Wow, 14 grandkids. Congratulations. We're hoping we can stay healthy enough to do this for quite a while...Lord willing. Thanks for the encouragement.
Growing up and now our grands have so much fun in the hay. They build forts and climb and just love the hay!
Kids seem to have fun anywhere...especially when all of the grandkids are here together.
Great video. Blessings for 2025 ❤❤❤❤❤
THANKS!
Happy New Year Folks may it bring your great health and many fun adventures on your property. Cheers Theresa
Thank you so much and the same to you.
Blessings to you and your family! Happy 2025🎊🥳🎉✝️🙏🏼
Thanks and same to you!
You all are amazing. Love watching you and look forward to the new projects.
Thanks!!!
Four more precious grandchildren and a precious dog, wonderful! :)
It really was an amazing year.
Happy New Year!!! 2024 was just okay, but I think 2025 will be better, but challenging! God bless y'all and keep growing
I hope 2025 will be a wonderful year for you. Thanks for the kind words.

I truly enjoyed watching the replay. Happy New Year's 🎉 I'm new to your channel ❤️

Happy New year. Hope you bees do great this winter. Love your videos!

Loved my goats but little work!
Right now they are no on the plan, but who knows what might happen in the future.
She is soooooooo cute!!!!
I sure think so. She's only a month old and I already have a million pictures of her.
A few fluffy alpacas would be nice for the grandkids. They are easy to keep and train, easy on the land and don't challenge fencing. ;>)
We've actually just started looking into alpacas. Do you raise them? I love to crochet and knit and have wanted to experiment with spinning yarn.

Peach trees? That's not winter. I can grow everything up here, except for plants that don't like winter. Like peach trees.
We're very lucky that we can grow most fruit trees....except for citrus.
Better off to have a cow than a goat.
So far the only cattle we've done were for beef. I'm not sure we have the energy to milk every morning and evening.
