@@voetbal12 I live in Edmonton and miss the fishing! Here, if you want to go fishing in the lakes, you have to drive more than a hour and the "lakes' are actually what we called large sloughs. LOL! I miss being able to fish almost in my backyard. In fact, one of the houses I lived in, the lake was 30 feet from the house. In the summer here, you see a lot, and I mean a lot of boats on the highway, going to and from the "lakes". Hardly ever saw that in Manitoba or Ontario.

I was born and raised in this province and never throughout my entire grade school and university stint has a teacher/professor ever taught students about this place. Even in my Geography classes. Not even a mention. Had I not stumbled upon this video, I would’ve never known this place existed.

They aren't kidding with the "experienced hikers only" bit, especially the Grass River route! We found it very tough, but rewarding! We hiked it at mid-May, so there were no mosquitoes and the weather was pleasantly mild. BUT, there were still some snow drifts on the trail to contend with. I'd also say this is a suitable practice hike working up to the Mantario Trail.
    Great documentary!

Manitoba has more rock, water, and forests than the other 'Prairie' provinces (Yes, more rock than Alberta). The only farmland is south of Winnipeg, and the SouthWestern section.
it was interesting that north of Winnipeg is rocky, and massive lakes. The ski mountains Northeast of the city and the Whitewater rafting near the Ontario Border is second to none.

@DW I wish it were that simple. The province is sick. Most of us don't even know the Constitution(Our rights as Canadians) and sadly, with all that's happened just in my case, it's pretty clear that the place has been run into the ground by a group of Baptist Psychopaths. The Constitution is considered Tripe. Bold to say? In the 80's, my Grandfather was one of the Men responsible for building the foundation for the economy wide mess we have now. Healthcare? Is poor here because the money is being diverted into the pockets of unions and corporate partners who give a portion back to keep the system working just well enough to help ease the possibility of Litigious circumstances coming to bear. This province is a Racketeer driven disaster.
