Sorin . Another fantastic master class . Your logical thinking and powers of fault deduction are noting but world class. indeed you are an electronics fault detective of the highest order.🧐👌
We have picture . LOL. That's crazy 😅. I've been learning a lot from you. Thanks for the knowledge Sorin. I'm confident enough to open my repair shop which I've been planning and working on for a long time. I will definitely start a Chanel to impact others with the same knowledge as you did. Thanks big
it was funny cause after the first 2 minutes u already found the problem, bent pins, yet it took another hour to convince your self you had to bend them a bit more xD good job!
Wow! 35 mins into this video and I was thinking this one might not be a fix. I watch most of your videos and love seeing your login and diagnosis process. What a bummer this one was to find the problem. Well done for persevering. I'd have thrown it at the wall after half an hour - LOL! Keep up your great work.
Now seems so easy fault, but I think you made a master piece with your work tracking back the fault. You are the greatest, even better than Mohamed Ali
Nice troubleshooting. 😊 I learned something new about OLED in computers. I have worked on OLED TVs and the same applies because they have no backlights as well.
Hi Sorin, great Job again and i learned more news about OLED negatie voltage.......but even if hard i think the screen connector must be replaced... bye Timpano Francesco from Florence Italy
hi sorin I think you could use osciloscope to detect the voltage while the red logo is present and after backlight off to find the messing volt and when it missed
Interesting testing to learn from! Plus proved no other damage occurred as result of of the 1st problem he'd detected. Stupid me, but I was surprised what happened with that board disconnected.
In these cases it is also good to have the original screen to make measurements. 37:56 That connector... 😒 We have a picture after much fighting... 😅 Congratulations!!! A very instructive video 🙂
Sorin keeps referring to Inverters on laptops. I thought those went away after we stopped using CCFL screens since those boards inverted the VDC from the laptop to VAC for the CCFL panels, I am cornfused.
I would have checked continuity on all wires from the laptop and that negative voltage producing board to the screen connector before even trying to turn the laptop on . Would have found the problem straight away just testing continuity to the pins on the connector from the laptop end screen connector and that little pcb to the screen connector
What we can take from this is if we see damage we have to make sure the damage is not the cause of the laptop not working before checking other things.
The customer sent the laptop for broken screen connector to be replaced and received the laptop back with the same broken connector and this is ''job done''? Good to know.
not an easy fix , that's for shure . OLED screens have a limited life compared with LED predecessors. Its a marketing gimmick .. to make money obviously. Good learning video. Nice work. thx.
That connector looked like a duck and quacked like a duck and you finally recognised it was a duck.😂
Thanks Sorin, I like the statement "we have the picture lol" . Great teacher❤❤❤
That was a great learning video, didnt realise no backlight. Your diagnosis process and even the minus voltages was an eye opener.
When you read "oled" you already know is has no backlight, without checking anything
Great fix Sorin, your power of deduction to find fault is amazing.
Well done Sorin. A difficult job there but with patience and methodical thinking, you triumphed again. 10 out of 10 matey 👍

Sorin you are a true Detective - Columbo
We have picture . LOL. That's crazy 😅.

That's wonderful! Pls stay in touch!
GG = good to be good!
We got lots of this video!
Thank you Sorin
...and the shirt says it all, right? Great job!!!
Great job … you are a computer Doctor.👏👏👏👏👏
Nice troubleshooting. 😊 I learned something new about OLED in computers. I have worked on OLED TVs and the same applies because they have no backlights as well.

Great work, Cool lesson!
Great fix sorin ,you forgot the hotglue 😅
hi sorin
I think you could use osciloscope to detect the voltage while the red logo is present and after backlight off to find the messing volt and when it missed
You have so much knowledge. I admire you.
ești un profesor domnul
Amazing repair👏🏻💪🏻
1st knowladge i got about OLED screen needs Minus Voltages on it
me too
Wow great patients 👏
Good job mate
Interesting testing to learn from! Plus proved no other damage occurred as result of of the 1st problem he'd detected. Stupid me, but I was surprised what happened with that board disconnected.
Good for learning how to deal with oled screen voltage s
You go Sorin.
Great job master!
we have picture and at the same time he was scared to see the picture🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.Good job Sorin.
great job Sorin big thumb up
Mr Mastero, it was amazing :)
Hello🤝thanks for lesion 👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👋👋👋👋
GREAT, WE HAVE PICTURE... :D
We have picture ! 🥳🥳🥳 Nice one 😉
I love your shirt! We have picture!
We have picture!!!!! Awesome!
We have picture I love that ❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉
nice video
This is a proper calibrated job without schematics.
In these cases it is also good to have the original screen to make measurements. 37:56 That connector... 😒
We have a picture after much fighting... 😅 Congratulations!!!
A very instructive video 🙂
if i watch any more of Sorins videos, my OLED is gonna have burn in from the Power Supply Cam showing 0 Amps 19 Volts 🙂
Negative voltage :0 LOL Sorin can you please made a video about NEGATIVE VOLTAGES im confused now :D
negative voltage is needed for OLED panel , there is a driver (chip) which commands a mosfet which takes a negative voltage trough those 2 coils
I have this same laptop model😀
solder out connector from other broken screen by hotair and solder to new screen by solder iron
OLED obrazovka velmi usporna energie a nizke napeti. Ale opravdu drahe OLED.
translation...lol...OLED screen very energy-saving and low voltage. But really expensive OLED.
That board is p/n 90NB0U40-R10010 which is a Asus X7400PC POWER EXTEND BOARD
wow thats crazy ! we have picture !
Sorin keeps referring to Inverters on laptops. I thought those went away after we stopped using CCFL screens since those boards inverted the VDC from the laptop to VAC for the CCFL panels, I am cornfused.
I think you should use your scope
The best !
We need more T-shirt here
“We have a picture….. LOL “
As soon as I saw that connector I was thinking this is a 5 minute mechanical contact fix. 40 minutes later.......
Legend 🎉🎉
the reverse voltage is caused by diods being bad, isn't it?
I would have checked continuity on all wires from the laptop and that negative voltage producing board to the screen connector before even trying to turn the laptop on . Would have found the problem straight away just testing continuity to the pins on the connector from the laptop end screen connector and that little pcb to the screen connector
Can't believe you left that mangled connector in there. It will come back.
nothing he can do to make it better, that connector is broken from the beginning
I'd feel more confident if we had removed the connector and soldered every pin on that OLED...
Need to change the OLED again? Send it to Sorin!😁
could use the old screen connector
I laugh when sorin says we have pictures hahaha
Video has 43 minutes... What the duck. This must be good 😁
I would put capton tape on the connector
👍🏽 super
Great electronic lesson... but for the purpose of repairs would be better change the connector as a first step. 😊
Is there a way to change the connector on a screen?
@@CaribbeanParadise-cn3sy I dont have that screen but probably can be done using a very low melting point solder and soldering iron, cheers from DR
What we can take from this is if we see damage we have to make sure the damage is not the cause of the laptop not working before checking other things.
What is negative voltage.?😢😢😢
Why would there be a backlight on an oled screen?
we have picture,, thats crazy..... :D
We have a picture 😊😎😲
Can someeone explain to me what the coils connected to ground are doing ?
Coils take negative voltage through mosfet and this chip near to OLED panel
I'm beginer i think the board job is to detect when the screen is closed an shut off the light
It's not how much intelligence you have, it's how you use it.
As soon as I saw that connector I thought it would be troublesome
Perfect :D
The customer sent the laptop for broken screen connector to be replaced and received the laptop back with the same broken connector and this is ''job done''? Good to know.
No, customer sent the laptop for no picture, and he received the laptop with a working screen
Next time see the Screen datasheet
😍😍😍
insane! GG
Owner had a pencil in the hinge gap?closed the laptop and crack
It will come back again
BOT - "Bottom"
not an easy fix , that's for shure . OLED screens have a limited life compared with LED predecessors. Its a marketing gimmick .. to make money obviously.
Good learning video. Nice work. thx.
yeess a yaaa pitcherrrr ouais, un pichet aaa
That is one clever customer. Give 25 euro Tshirt, to fix 250 euro screen :D
wasted a lot of time for nothing.
the damage was the connection as the customer said and he simply wanted a change from the beginning
How hard could've been to get that connector from an old mb or screen and replace it there!?
This wasn't much of a lesson...
Second
have picture lool
