Exactly. I think reve made a video that covered United Nations officials getting sex from young children and the kids were forced to do sexual acts to these old men in exchange for food.
keep in mind, the US still has a fucked CST problem if a massive ST problem in general, Epstein alone shows just how under the radar and or kept hush hush the real stuff is. Yet here we are because karens are paranoid and can't tell the difference between the two photos and the justice system has to take them seriously in ST or CA cases... only to waste their time combing through a weebs furry infested hard drive wasting resources.
Bridget was the worst and honestly most insulting controversy of the year outside of Shinzo Abe. Beyond it being clear that this clarification outside of the game was only a result of harassment from people who claim to represent trans people, it just makes no goddamn sense to make Bridget trans. He's a boy who was raised as a girl and spent his whole life trying to prove himself as a man. If anything, his story was an accidental trans man allegory, which makes it sadder that this is what's seen as the "right" way for that to go. The worst part about this is all of the hatred it's created against both femboys and trans women. Some people think that all trans people are groomers because of this Bridget shit reinforcing that narrative, some people think it's okay to harass trans women who disagree with the way that the character was massacred, and some people are using this as an opportunity to try and manipulate femboys into identifying as trans. Ultimately, Bridget's never gonna be in another game. Daisuke may be a bigot, but he's not an idiot. He'll see that this is causing damage to the reputation of the series, especially domestically, and he'll just never include Bridget to avoid upsetting either side. As much as I would love for Bridget to come back again and be a boy again, I accept that a decision was made. That doesn't mean I have to like it though. Besides, I can always just say "fuck canon" and enjoy fan content that still views him as a boy. Bridget was where the term "trap" comes from, and an entire culture formed around him. People minimize his importance a lot, but he was an icon because of how he made everyone sexually confused and was a rebellious character with a relatable arc. He's also an important part of shotacon history since Bridget was literally the inspiration for Boku no Pico. He means a lot of things to a lot of people, and hopefully Daisuke realizes how bad of an idea this was.
Funnily enough, the irina controversy ended up skyrocketing her career and she got more followers from it. Congrats antis, YA PLAYED YOURSELF Also shes in a loli vtuber group called GAKILive
I'd say the worst one was the Bridget controversy. It caused so much distress against femboys. They were being harassed, threatened, pinkpilled. It was horrible. Some have even decided to permanently protect their tweets.
Bridget, told he had to live as a girl because in his home village there a superstition that with identical twins one will die! If Bridget lives as a boy he could die. the loons: Yay trans... 300 dB of white noise that blocks and word that Bridget is not trans.
@@Yoshixandir It's a retcon by definition. And no, they actually did it to appeal to a certain country in Asia that recently made it illegal to be an effeminate or gay male.
@@9TDF If anything the were celebrating Bridget becoming a Cis-women because his birth certificate was definitely registered as female in the village records. Making him AFAB regardless of actual biological status.
With the Bridget controversy, I honestly just stopped caring when Daisuke tried to claim that he always intended Bridget to be a trans girl... despite the fact that literally everything prior to Strive, including HIS OWN WORDS involving his inspiration for Bridget (he wanted a twist on the cute girl fighter trope and he thought making the girl a boy would be funny), presented. It was an obvious retcon, and a poorly implemented one at that, which made it worse. The only good thing that came from that was people who were celebrating Bridget being trans immediately attacking Daisuke and calling him transphobic for waiting 20ish years to reveal it. What a shitshow.
@@LoliconSamalik It doesn't mean he does not deserve to be fired. You don't mess with long standing lore without necessity, of which there was zero. An extremely large writing mistake was willingly done here and he was in support of it if not directly at fault. People get fired for less without even meaning to do what got them fired.
@@Alex20114 It was just a drawing by the way doubt he's going to lose his entire career over that. Japanese creators don't even lose their careers for having actual child exploitation materials much less over some weird drawings
@@chriscormac231 yep, can 100% say this is true. My sister was always a bit tomboy-ish growing up but she never felt any body/gender dysmorphia (to our knowledge ofc but she used to be very open about herself) Then she got on twitter, dream stan twitter to be precise, and after like 1 year or so she suddenly came out as non-binary. Btw incase you are wondering, there are no neutral pronouns in my country so she still uses she/her pronouns and also still has no problem with being called "sister". I have a very strong feeling that she only identifies as non-binary to fit in, since she never once went in that direction before getting twitter, quite the opposite actually
@@chriscormac231 sadly, yes. I've been getting recommendations of some American school controversies (I'm not even American) about parents being furious that the schools are grooming their kids into Transitionings and some gender ideology bs. This made me wonder the pattern of twatter minors behaviors about everything they deemed p3d0pH1lia, and other nonesense they've been spewing, like engaging in adult spaces comfortably.
I shared a sfw post of adult Anya and Damien in a fb group and it blew up cuz people were claiming Anya was being sexualized cuz she was in Yor's dress, but had larger breasts outside of their comfort zone. Claimed I was into kids cuz of an adult version of a fictional character. Smh
13:53 you miss worded that. Bridget is a boy, they forced him to be a girl. Then as was said, the controversy came from the fact that for many years the character identified as a boy despite how they were raised, then they flipped it and now she says she’s a girl.
Arguments about lore contradictions never really end, that shit tends to matter a lot to people. Its why fans argue about the Star Wars sequels and the Bethesda Fallout games (3, 4 and 76). Bridget is unfortunately going to be one of those topics I guess, albeit a minor one.
@@four-en-tee look no further than the FNAF community. We're finally starting to make a coherent timeline after almost 9 years of the franchise existing, and even then we don't have all the details. Bridget will likely be a topic for lore for at least 3 years, if not longer depending on if the company backtracks on their decision
@@sams-hx7hm The only way Strive developers will backtrack their decision is if they disband their American shareholders group who have a strong manipulation of of "what the American fans want in Strive" despite most of those just being their political agenda.
@@darkmantlestudios It's pretty much the same as before, but thanks to real Guilty Gear fans, more people are being informed and educated about just how much original lore was undone to make Bridget trans which understandably pisses off the fanbase. It seems like the trans community doesn't have a valid argument to present anymore.
The whole Bridget controversy really got under my skin it was an obvious sloppy retcon of the character it took me a good while to get over it even though it still annoys me there’s really nothing to do but to move on, I hate that femboys/tomboys and gnc people in general getting harassed over this being told to just transition already is so scummy even trans people who didn’t like the retcon were heavily harassed and misgendered as well not to mention JP players/artists being harassed for still referring to Bridget as male it’s all so annoying but it’s not all bad we got five brand new femboy characters this year
It amazes me the things that happened, genuinely. It was literally one terrible event after the other and kept going and going. Negativity isn’t a poison to some, it’s a drug and they cant live without it
@GhettoDumbsville Oh, it’s a meme my name. I actually don’t give a damn about the game franchise. I just picked this name as a joke. Had it since before Smash Bros whatever came out As for antis maybe but half the time I see incoherent rambling and venting. It gets annoying because some of them are literally online 24/7
One of my favorite quotes I learned was, "Think of the dumbest person you can imagine, and then realize that people are even stupider than that." This explains these fatherless people online.
For me the loli controversy was a blessing in disguise. I came to terms of what i liked, and even told many of my close friends about my intrest in loli, they actually were not weirded out and flattered I opened up to them. Hell because of me being comfortable with it, I've made many good friends because of it. All this stemming from the loli controversy and me finding a few loli vtubers
as long as people know the difference between real and fiction they are chill with me glad to see you found things out due to idiots lol atleast something good came out of them
I watched something happen similar to the whole Kitagawa cosplay situation. Someone posted a pic of a girl cosplaying Ryo-Ohki from Tenchi who had matched her skin tone to Ryo-Ohki's fur color in a Tenchi Muyo group. Girl ended up getting accused of doing blackface and the poster got accused of being a racist. Was ridiculous
The Rushia drama with the people in Japan attacking her is literally one of the premises in this one manga I know getting an anime next year Oshi no Ko When people read or watch this they will probably learn their ways to see how strong it was😞
These may be out of order, sorry: 1: The Bridget one is the only thing I care about on a personal level. I loved the how the character was portrayed for the longest time until he was suddenly changed to identify as trans. It bothers me because there was no precedent to suggest that he wanted to ever become a girl but instead was only changed to cater to "certain online groups". Which in turn made me lose interest in the characters journey going forward. I don't want to be associated with a studio that will just neuter a well written character for the sake of a few points with a certain community. This is one of the worst retcons in video game history. S-Tier 2: My love of gyaru culture and style comes straight from characters like Junko Enoshima but Marin Kitagawa is by far one of the best examples of this archetype. The fact that she's under aged means nothing especially when you look at characters from Western media like Miraculous Ladybug(it has an anime influence). Chloe is a character that is pretty much the typical rich girl, fashionista and is often sexualized by fans and the show runners alike. She's also under aged. Why is nobody throwing a fit about that? A-Tier 3: The Rebecca controversy was extremely entertaining. The amount of copium from tourists, normies and antis alike on Rebecca's identity as a loli was incredible to watch in real time. Seethe, you like a loli character. Deal with it. S-Tier 4: The Anya Blush was the most avoidable bullshit ever. Imagine not understanding the what it's like share affection with your family. It's called familial, platonic love. There's nothing sexual about a blush, holy shit. C-Tier 5: I won't say much on Abe... but damn what an unfortunate situation. A-tier 6: The Bayonetta 3 situation still confuses me to this day. Helena Taylor pretty much nuked her entire career for who the fuck knows why? Crazy how she had the entire internet fooled. It sucks because she was a talented VA as well. Oh well. S-tier 7: Vice hasn't been relevant for years so why not make up shit about a foreign country in order to drive traffic to your dying "news" site. S-tier 8: I'm going to miss Rushia. Her model was one of my top five favorites. If only she hadn't jumped the gun and went into panic mode...but it's not entirely her fault either. B-tier 9: Look, I love traps and I love femboys. If a character clearly states they are male but wants to embrace feminity, just let them for god's sake. Stop labeling people as trans when they are not in denial about their gender. Bridget on the other hand was forced to dress like a girl but he wants to prove his manliness despite all of that. That's what was so intriguing about his character until it was changed. B-tier 10: I use Novel AI whenever I feel like it. I don't monetize the artwork at all and I always credit artists if I use any references. With that said, it's still should have some sort of boundary to prevent people from using AI art with commissions. It's an insult to skilled artists who worked hard to develop their techniques. At the same time, the "tech lover" in me wants to see it expand to even further heights. I don't think it will replace professional artists 100%. I don't thing people should be too worried about it in the long run. But that's my opinion. C-tier 11: I missed the entirety of the new Nezuko drama but as we always say "She's fictional". D-Tier 12 The rest of these I don't know much about or I may have opinions on that people will not like so I'll refrain from saying anything else.
How I interpret Bridget was his story was basically that of a trans-man. His parents reported him as female on his birth certificate making him afab regardless of actual biological status. So they aren't even celebrating him being trans, they were celebrating him giving up and just living as the gender he was assigned on his birth certificate. Which is a terrible message for trans people.
@@clarehidalgo regardless wheter you think its a bad message or not , that interpretation is delusional and full of new age buzzwords designed to confuse people.
For point 2, western entertainment does exactly the same with it's entertainment in both animation and live action. The only argument for live action is the actors are adults, but their characters are still being depicted as teenagers in fiction. So the logic should still stand, for these people. The only difference between the two cultures is Japan are more blantant with this and from what I've read before, Japanese have sexual humour. While western culture (especially US), try to give nonsense reasons like "empowerment" or it's "art". It's just double standards. Also Miraculous Ladybug, which I've not seen, is a French product. And from what I'm aware of, the French are just more open with this stuff and don't find get offended by it in their entertainment.
22:10 This is one of the things that's really confused me. Why are we allowing more words to be used as slurs instead of laughing in people's faces and telling them what the definition is? It's so stupid how many people will accept a word being changed from something harmless with a well-established meaning to something insulting because some random person said it was. how about no, stop making things insulting and laugh at the moron for thinking its an insult. We have actual insults and some of which were actually made from the beginning to be insulting instead of taken from something else to be an inslut or slur.
Bridget is still a man. It's frustrating that they changed his character because Bridget (throughout the game franchise's history and the GG community's knowledge of him) is a male who was forced to live as a woman because of his village's superstitions that having both twins of the same _sex_ led to bad luck. As if the character's struggle didn't matter (as long as it appeals the ESG model I guess). It's like... if a Chinese couple had a male and female twin, but had to raise the female as a male because if society found out that it was a female then it would lead to bad luck and having the parents to infanticide the female. Just because someone is a femboy doesn't mean they're a trans woman or that just because someone's a tomboy doesn't mean they're a trans man either. They (ARC System Works) did to Bridget what Bandai did to Leona/Leo Kliesen in Tekken.
Watching Twitter drama is no longer a moment of awareness about weird people on the internet, it has become entertainment. All it takes is saying "Twitter user [ ]" and I'm like "say no more, I'm already making the popcorn"
I knew Helena Taylor was lying about the 4k as soon as we found out the replacement was Jennifer Hale, because she probably isn't the cheapest replacement available. Anyone who is familiar with her resume should have been instantly suspicious.
I think people also forget that laws in other countries are different than those in America. Including Age of Consent. This is referring to Marin. And that the characters are fictional.
2022 was a horrible year (although there were few bright spots) and I highly doubt 2023 will be "better" either. I hope I survive this another insane/irrational year. One thing is for sure, ALWAYS FOR SURE: Twitter user's garbage "opinions" are NEVER to be taken "seriously". And Twitter IS AND NEVER WILL BE correlated to Real Life. Happy 2023 New Years to you, Rev.
I'd put the Rushia thing on top of all for one single reason. It was internationally damaging. Everything else was either more regional or less damaging. Saying Uruha Rushia had a meltdown is fitting since there's still radiation from that meltdown in the form of fear.
All the ones about lol*s were actually pretty funny because ironically, the ones telling people they were gross and should go "touch grass" are the ones who can't separate fiction from reality.
In the above mentioned thumbnail, rushia was the biggest controversy for me, but for different reasons than you might expect. If I mess up in the medical field, I get fired and blacklisted and am unable to work again. Rushia messes up, gets fired, and then immediately starts as nazuna in a popular established v-tuber group. I wish I had that kinda job security. Must be nice.
Why do you hate her specifically, though? I mean this is true of almost every field. Mess up at Walmart? Target will hire you. Mess up at Burger King? Subway's got an opening. And no shit if you mess up in the medical field you're blacklisted, if you were my doctor and you broke my leg instead of fixing my shoulder I'd never want you to touch a human body ever again. These are VERY different scenarios.
@@swishfish8858 well don't you see? That's my point. If you're shown to not be able to honor your contract, or disregard the established rules of your trade, then you really shouldn't get a second chance since no one would wanna trust you. Vshojo didn't care though. They hired her almost immediately even though when her feet are to the fire, rushia recklessly abandons all common sense. Or are you making the comparison that vtubers are equal to fast food workers?
@@swishfish8858 okay, that's going from 0 to 100, and your example is comparing apples to oranges. You can get fired from the medical industry for a lot less than loss of life. Point is, she violated her contract and got fired and saw no significant negative effects from it. But if rushia is equal to a fast food worker like you suggest, then I guess I really can't complain about it since my job is inherently more difficult then, and I chose that route.
@@cylusonsteam Not to say that entertaining is easy, it's a job like any other and requires effort and talent, but you're in a much more intense field. You getting blacklisted for a big enough mistake to get you fired makes a lot more sense to me than an entertainer in the same position.
Title of the video should be: "What Was The Biggest Case of Fabricated Outrage Started By Twitter in 2022?" Because judging by the thumbnail the controversies discussed in the video are not actual controversies.
I just love how every "drama" this year is "Twitter complains about X" People really give a lot of attention/importance to the modern cesspool of society.
What's with (mostly) English-speaking people having a vendetta over Anime and Manga? If people want woke stuff, then consume woke stuff. I hate it when something has to cater to someone and not the other way around
29:34 these same chuckleheads were all drooling over toddler Nezuko when she was being chased. Yet lose their minds whenshe transforms into a older version. Seems they can't add two plus two.
>"Don't sexualize Anya." >Draws grown-up Anya. >"WE SAID DON'T SEXUALIZE ANYA!" You have no idea how far this kind of mentality have reached until you find it in other fandoms. I have seen posts in a Sailor Moon groups getting attacked for everything from the Senshi in dance poles to grown-up Chibi-Usa. The Rebecca copium is the best thing I've seen since seeing a Darling in the Franxx Tumblr post about Ikuno (to be later revealed that she had feelings for Ichigo) slapping Alpha Nine (a male identifying as genderless), and how this scene was applauded by the fandom instead of seeing it as an attack against non-gendered and non-binary people. For context, it happened in a moment where the Tumblr collective was having an identity crisis after finding out that their big beautiful goddess that was Steven Universe's Rose Quartz was actually the petite Pink Diamond. (Correct me if I got the names wrong.) Politics aside, Shinzo Abe was based for trying to encourage the population growth in Japan in sometimes not subtle ways. The Marin controversy over her using "blackface" reflects the toxicity in cosplay culture that basically boils down that trying to match skin tone or going on your own skin tone is racism depending on the character you cosplay as.
The other thing to note is there's actually been black performers who have done a "whiteface" and been allowed to do so and not seen as offensive. I'm not sure what it was, my Mum was the one who told me, she switched something off the minute it came on. Mainly because "blackface" is racist, but "whiteface" isn't. The same with black cosplayers, no one complains when they dress up as a character of different skin tones. Cosplay is just about dressing up as characters you like, so what if you like a character that doesn't look exactly like you because of whatever physical/cultural reason. Limiting people this way is very close-minded and a lot of people with this mindset have a lot of double standards.
@@mnArqal93, so true. Take Sailor Moon. The black community have made great art of the characters and gorgeous cosplay that reflects black culture. The fandom embraces it as expression. I'm sure there are naysayers about this particular group in the fandom, but aren't vocal because if they even make a peep about it, "RACISM!", because the ones you're speaking against are black. A sort of "black privilege", if you will. White cosplayers don't have that privilege. They're basically limited to white characters because doing any character that isn't white is whitewashing, and trying to make an accurate depiction of said character is racism and cultural appropriation. Things were a bit different back here in Puerto Rico. There are two known comedians that each had a character that would be "politically incorrect" depictions of races (one Asian, the other dark-skinned). Thing about Puerto Rico is the mix of races in our blood (Taino, Spaniard, and African) and the considerable Asian population living here (mainly Chinese). I really didn't see it as offensive, since it's part of our culture. Not meant for mocking. Does that mean there isn't racism in Puerto Rico? Oh, there is. But one have no ground on being racist when half of the family has a different skin color or facial complexion. I swear when I say that I knew someone with Puerto Rican parents, and he actually looked Asian.
@@JoseRivera-ym3wj Yeah, this is a problem when it comes to mentioning stuff like privilege, equality, etc, is that often the people speaking out against say privilege want it themselves. This goes for a lot of different communities. But to stay on topic, a lot of black people also dislike this attitude and don't like this way of thinking. Because it's restricting people's expression and causes more divide, as more people get ticked off and the circle of hate continues. Someone once explained to me why it's say acceptable to change a white character's ethnicity, but in reverse it's called "whitewashing". The reason is that black people are under represented due to being a minority group, so it's fine to change a character. Fan art which do black edits (or race-bending, if that's a term) are fine, but not in reverse. But this in itself, like you said, is basically black privilege. But being political incorrect is considered "negative and toxic". Those comedians would struggle in some places like the US.
@@mnArqal93, considering that they have long retired those characters, it won't be a problem to them. One is in Hollywood and have made some minor roles in minor movies, but if anyone where to find his comedy career here in Puerto Rico, and I'm talking decades ago, cancel culture might try to get him. But we're a hardy people after being oppressed by two superpowers over the past 500 years of history. And for us to cancel one of ours, they've must done something truly heinous.
🌸😹I would not be of envy as you had to endeavor betwixt the controversies of 2022, for many they were and such arduous task would it be to decide upon the best.😹🌸
Personally, the most tiring ones were any controversy dealing with lolis. Just getting a notification about a new Rev vid and seeing either the title, thumbnail, or the entire vid have any connection to lolis always had me like "Alright, who's calling anime fans pedos and what bullshit evidence have they pulled out of their ass today?" (not Rev's fault). On a side note, some other "controversies" that I feel need to be on this list are China's censorship of blood (or just any general censorship in general), regardless of whether they backfired or not, fixing art only for it to backfire, and Twitter claiming that any sort of thought/expression has sexual meaning to it.
I'd say the kidnapping of the Chinese vtuber and then being sold to an old lady in rural China would have to be the biggest controversy for 2022. Hope she's doing well
I’m relatively active on Twitter, and I really do think people make a bigger deal about some things than they should. The amount of toxicity and aggression in some of these people has made my anxiety even worse ever since I hopped in back in 2019 I’m genuinely afraid to say shit half the time when I’m on there due to how fierce some of these fuckers can get… Fortunately, a lot of my moots are much more chill than others outside that group, which does give me comfort. I would leave, but I’ve developed a pretty good following with some awesome people, and I even run commissions on the side, so I don’t want to abandon all that… I just for the most part avoid saying my piece in arguments unless I feel it necessary, which isn’t often. I just wish some of these perfectionist fucks would simmer down…
Reminds me of Assassins Creed 2, it doesn't matter how much you hate someone. Gotta show respect when they're dead. RIP. Requiscat in Pace Shinzo Abe. Rushia, still doesn't feel real :(
Twitter users using a picture of Goku and Vegeta in Super Saiyan with Goku holding his hand towards the viewer, both looking intimidatingly at the viewer to use as a form of arguments against or to mock supposed lolicons... this is hypocritical 'cause Toriyama the creator of said show had some.. sus moments in og Dragon Ball to say the least.
It's also hypocritical in the sense that they actually treat fictional threats and actions as real, so they're doing what they so adamantly condemn and despise not to mention just the fact we don't give a fuck what a png says about us
@@ponikoTV yea, 2022 but twitter is of people who are toxic and haters some people don't know like Rushie and Mafumafu drama she a vtuber she doesn't exist
I'm just sad they couldn't let Bridget stays a man. Now we can't make Bridget makes everyone gay joke xD If they want transgender, why not create new and interesting character?
Who says we can't make those jokes? Who says we have to accept Bridget being trans when it's more than obvious that it was a peer pressure based decision?
I think the one that has the biggest effect is the ai generated art. Already there are people using these to apply to real jobs thinking that they're capable of producing work that a professional artist can do. It's going to majorly effect the art industry, especially if artstation (a massive portfolio website) collapses from the controversy. Maybe I'm biased because my gf is in the art industry, but this seems like it could be a massive issue if business politics get further involved and it reaches a political level.
It's honestly infuriating how everyone seem to just side with greedy soulless corporation on Bayonetta debacle just because she lied about exact figure. She was still getting scammed. They were still trying to scam her. It's crazy how people just forget about it.
I think the only way Bridget would have worked is if strive was the start. The best idea I can come up with is one of the new characters should be trans so they could introduce the idea of transness to Bridget who's been down after living as a boy for 6 years, it would lead into a cliffhanger on the subject which not only makes for better story telling but would also solidify bridget in future games instead of being in a 19 year hiatus. Then the next game he gets to thinking about it, maybe he tries to deny the idea but that hurts him a bit, and lastly in the third game he finally comes out, you could even just use the scenes in Strive. Though they would have a problem with that as i was called a transphobe who wanted to see a trans woman suffer because I wanted to see the process, I do think that if daisuke wanted to go the trans route then do it right especially with a character you leave on the back burner for 19 god damn years. I was 2 yrs old 19 years ago. That's way too much time to leave a character out of the main franchise.
transgenderism is not even a thing in japan so it honestly wouldn't make sense and the japanese audiences of GG would be terribly confused with such westoid elements.
@Slava McNuttie it's not mainstream sure, but absent entirely, I'd have to disagree. Togata from Fire Punch is one of my favorite characters who happens to be a trans man. Japan tends to get these characters right more than the West, which is rather ironic. It's just about presentation. Personally, I don't think Bridget should be trans as you could easily have added a character who's trans into the game, no extra baggage to work with like a legacy character suxh as Bridget. I was merely suggesting a better route story wise than the half assed one we got.
37:15 I have one question Rev, and this may sound insensitive. Was your call out against Nux considered, as well as his drunk tweets, and evidence filed against him. I'm assuming that this topic may have been too recent for you to try to rehash in this video, so I understand if this drama is not something you wanted to talk about. It just felt like it wasn't included, and was important to discuss, considering that Nux is a very chaotic yet relevant part of the Vtuber and anime community. So leaving that most recent drama was noticeable to say the least. And I will say you're response to the multi piece was a bit rushed on some parts, but I appreciate you for talking about nonetheless, even if some people may not appreciate your effort.
for me the guilty gear drama turned the care i had in the franchise very sour. and how ishiwatari betrayed his own lore only to get brownie points. mori-san left Arc sys because of the clownshow GG pulled.
According to the Urban Dictionary: "Loli has 3 definitions, arranged according to popularity. (Source at the bottom) 1. Loli - Young girl/Young-looking girl; age neutral; SFW by default. Its also used to describe a body type, age is ignored. Its an abbreviation of Japanese colloquial word "Lolita", which has exactly the same meaning defined above. (Don't confuse it with the twisted American definition of "Lolita".) 2. Loli - Abbreviation of Lolita Fashion. example: goth-loli, wa-loli, hime-loli, etc. The 'Lolita' in Lolita fashion is also derived from the same 'Lolita' defined in (1). Its a victorian style fashion mixed with Japan's kawaii culture. 3. Loli - Abbreviation of lolicon (Lolita Complex), which is an attraction to loli(1). The attraction can be non-sexual, or sexual. Barely anyone uses 'loli' as 'lolicon', to the point that no one actually knows that this definition even exist. Only used in a very specific context, or very 'special' kind of people. Hentai sites doesn't actually use this definition in their tags, they use the first definition. Ironically, this is used by 'special' people in twitter, tiktok, and even facebook, just to fit their narrative that this word is a 'bad/derogatory' word, and will only spread this definition to others, ignoring the first and second definition."
I feel bad for all the Bridget fans, it’s like how marvel suddenly turns a superhero gay or black even though many years of other stories say otherwise. Now if you slightly disagree with this choice in the story you’ll be call transphobic or a terf when most of the people who are praising this choice don’t even play the game or know the character. Of course some fans will be pissed that this sudden change happens without any warning, it’s just sad that there can’t be any criticism with how Bridget’s story should go especially sense the original audience in japan still calls him a Femboy. That being said all the other controversies are water off a ducks back fro me-

What stupid is they red con Bridget just to appease twitter. It pissed off a lot of people especially in japan
@@9TDF lol fr it almost seems like they define gender by how someone dresses and behaves and not actual biological facts
Basically, the TL;DR of this is, anime going mainstream is a cursed gift, and all of the anime/vtuber related controversies of 2022 reflect that.

These may be out of order, sorry:
1: The Bridget one is the only thing I care about on a personal level. S-Tier
2: My love of gyaru culture and style comes straight from characters like Junko Enoshima but Marin Kitagawa is by far one of the best examples of this archetype. A-Tier
3: The Rebecca controversy was extremely entertaining. The amount of copium from tourists, normies and antis alike on Rebecca's identity as a loli was incredible to watch in real time. Seethe, you like a loli character. Deal with it. S-Tier
4: The Anya Blush was the most avoidable bullshit ever. Imagine not understanding the what it's like share affection with your family. It's called familial, platonic love. There's nothing sexual about a blush, holy shit. C-Tier
5: I won't say much on Abe... but damn what an unfortunate situation. A-tier
6: The Bayonetta 3 situation still confuses me to this day. Helena Taylor pretty much nuked her entire career for who the fuck knows why? Crazy how she had the entire internet fooled. It sucks because she was a talented VA as well. Oh well. S-tier
7: Vice hasn't been relevant for years so why not make up shit about a foreign country in order to drive traffic to your dying "news" site. S-tier
8: I'm going to miss Rushia. Her model was one of my top five favorites. If only she hadn't jumped the gun and went into panic mode...but it's not entirely her fault either. B-tier
9: Look, I love traps and I love femboys. B-tier
10: I use Novel AI whenever I feel like it. C-tier
11: I missed the entirety of the new Nezuko drama but as we always say "She's fictional". D-Tier
12 The rest of these I don't know much about or I may have opinions on that people will not like so I'll refrain from saying anything else.
How I interpret Bridget was his story was basically that of a trans-man. His parents reported him as female on his birth certificate making him afab regardless of actual biological status. So they aren't even celebrating him being trans, they were celebrating him giving up and just living as the gender he was assigned on his birth certificate. Which is a terrible message for trans people.
me enjoying controversies from the entire Eye Of Terror being compressed in an app
@@mateuszmierzejewski1355 you have to use their own stupid logic against them
22:10 This is one of the things that's really confused me.
The Quantum T.V vs ActMan youtube controversy was really interesting.
They (ARC System Works) did to Bridget what Bandai did to Leona/Leo Kliesen in Tekken.
good news is jp still refers to bridget as male and even the rule 34 and other hentai sites refer to him as "1boy" thankfully :^)
This man sacrificed his sanity for our entertainment. This guy is a hero.
Watching Twitter drama is no longer a moment of awareness about weird people on the internet, it has become entertainment. All it takes is saying "Twitter user [ ]" and I'm like "say no more, I'm already making the popcorn"

You have no idea how far this kind of mentality have reached until you find it in other fandoms.
(Correct me if I got the names wrong.)
Politics aside, Shinzo Abe was based for trying to encourage the population growth in Japan in sometimes not subtle ways.

I'm just sad they couldn't let Bridget stays a man. Now we can't make Bridget makes everyone gay joke xD
If they want transgender, why not create new and interesting character?
Who says we can't make those jokes? Who says we have to accept Bridget being trans when it's more than obvious that it was a peer pressure based decision?
I think the one that has the biggest effect is the ai generated art. Already there are people using these to apply to real jobs thinking that they're capable of producing work that a professional artist can do. It's going to majorly effect the art industry, especially if artstation (a massive portfolio website) collapses from the controversy. Maybe I'm biased because my gf is in the art industry, but this seems like it could be a massive issue if business politics get further involved and it reaches a political level.
So much controversy this year I almost forgot them all

I really love watching your videos while having my dinner. It really equals a good movie
Great video, you earned a sub.
Thanks Rev for the great work
It's honestly infuriating how everyone seem to just side with greedy soulless corporation on Bayonetta debacle just because she lied about exact figure.
15:34 That drama was crazy, I'm gonna always call Bridget what he is, a boy
Okay cool thanks again Rev
"What, are you afraid of a four letter word?"
This kind of drama just be so weird yet it's trendy.
for me the guilty gear drama turned the care i had in the franchise very sour. and how ishiwatari betrayed his own lore only to get brownie points. mori-san left Arc sys because of the clownshow GG pulled.
According to the Urban Dictionary:
"Loli has 3 definitions, arranged according to popularity. (Source at the bottom)
1. Loli - Young girl/Young-looking girl; age neutral; SFW by default. Its also used to describe a body type, age is ignored.
Its an abbreviation of Japanese colloquial word "Lolita", which has exactly the same meaning defined above. (Don't confuse it with the twisted American definition of "Lolita".)
Remember. Loli is one of the best gatekeepers for anime fandoms.

Where would you have put the recent Nuxtaku controversy?
Let's not forget that those poeple lost there soul
I feel bad for all the Bridget fans, it’s like how marvel suddenly turns a superhero gay or black even though many years of other stories say otherwise. Now if you slightly disagree with this choice in the story you’ll be call transphobic or a terf when most of the people who are praising this choice don’t even play the game or know the character. Of course some fans will be pissed that this sudden change happens without any warning, it’s just sad that there can’t be any criticism with how Bridget’s story should go especially sense the original audience in japan still calls him a Femboy.
That being said all the other controversies are water off a ducks back fro me-
Here's to hoping that 2023 will have more S level.
He estado escuchando este tío “rev” para un rato, y ya veo que él no dice “desu” tan frecuente como yo esperé. Supongo que los alborotos en el calle a debido de esto ya han terminado antes de que yo pudiera verlos 🧐
I honestly hated any controversy that used Kill La Kill as a source of evidence, whether it be accusations of pedophilia or anything else. Its a great show that is just came up to its 10th Anniversary. WATCH IT!

Given how the game is dead, people seem to have indeed moved on from the Bridget issue, and the game IP along with it.
