My friend has one. The lower the number means thicker bread. The numbers mean how many slices are in the Japanese style loaf, so a four slice loaf would be thicker then an 8 slice loaf. Hope this makes sense.

the middle button that has (4,5,6,8) is for the thickness of the slice
lower the number = thicker the slice
In japan, they have a square loaf. and bakeries make 4,5,6, or 8 slices from that same sized loaf
so 4 would be a a 1/4 thickness of the whole loaf. 8 would be 1/8 thickness of the whole loaf

We've been using a toaster oven for years. We not only use it for toast, but we use it to bake smaller portions of a variety of foods too. So, not a cheap, $10 toaster, but not $400+ either. I wonder how it would compare, I suspect it's a lot closer to the $10 cheapie, than the high tech, fancy, sexy beast. :)

    Thickness settings, from the manual:
Setting 4: 30 mm thick bread
    Setting 5: 24 mm
    Setting 6: 20 mm
    Setting 8: 15 mm
The settings range seems counter-intuitive. thinner bread needs a higher number. The thicker bread was set too 'low', and thus had a lot of untoasted margin. The thin sandwich bread needed setting 8, according to the manual. The thicker slice of home-made bread would probably need setting 5, or even 4, if it was over an inch thick.

    • @mojimoji5368
      @mojimoji5368 Год назад +3

When you buy sliced bread at supermarkets in Japan, the same size loaf (in the region of 400g) is usually available cut to different thicknesses. So a piece of bread from a 4-slice loaf will be double the thickness of a piece from the 8-slice loaf. This matches the measurements you posted from the manual, too! Seems like Emmy was happy with the outcome anyway though haha

Instead of using milk and sugar, maybe I'll treat myself and use some sweeten condensed milk.

I can recommend the stuff in Bokksu Boutique too, if you've not already bought from there, Emmy - and the longer you buy Bokksu boxes for, the more points you accumulate and the higher up the point scale you go. Very highly recommended!
The toast slices look good and so nice and evenly-toasted. The really expensive one sounds really nice, especially as it comes out nice and fluffy too! For $300, the faux wood top should be African ironwood. Thanks for the review. I'll never own one but it was interesting to see. Stay safe.

I don't think it needs a step-down transformer. AvE did a teardown video of the mitsubishi toaster and on the PCB, the input is listed as AC 125V, so it seemingly has the appropriate tolerance for US home outlets.

That is an awesome toaster! Can you do a demo using the topped toast feature? I am wondering if you can do like a pizza toast in that bad boy 😍 TFS Doll! 🌹❤️

I remember when the guys at sorted tested this toaster out...they had to buy a second because they blew up the first not using a power converter 😂

Other questions...... What if you're busy and don't open it right away? Does it get soggy? Or keep cooking? Can you cook other things in it? Try other settings to show how dark it can get for some who like it that way. Or lightest. Show us more. You mentioned French toast. Show us that. It did look like it gets the whole slice so that is good. Do more. Enjoy your content. Hugs from NH

I purchased an entire gas oven from sears for less. Seriously. The knobs broke off within the first year, but other than that, it's been a great oven. 😁

It keeps the moisture in by being an enclosed unit. That is why it has more moisture than the open model.
