    A little tip for the paddle holes. Time your machine and figure out when the last "kneading" is done before the rising and baking, then the next loaf, set your timer for that full time (mine is 1 hour & 35 minutes), and you can take out the paddles before the bread rises and bakes. It'll still have little tiny holes from the place where you put the paddles, but it won't have the massive paddle spot that always ruins the cut.

    In terms of reheating croissants, would it work to toast them in a regular oven? You could get the moisture in the oven by doing one of at least three things: preheat a small pan in the oven and when you put the croissant in add a cup of warm water in the preheated pan, or just toss a few ice cubes into the oven right before you put the croissant in, or maybe spray some water into the oven using a water bottle. Do you think any of those would work?

    • @nodezsh
      @nodezsh Год назад

      They would work but there's lots of variables to cross off there. Probably even the changing weather would be able to mess you up with such amounts of water and an unsealed oven.
      This thing you put a cuplet of water and set the timer and setting to what the book says, comes out perfect.
      Toasting seems to be trickier than baking somehow.

Along the way, open the oven and respray the bread with water mist during the cooking once or twice to keep the moisture going. Emmy, I have the exact Breville smart oven that you have, and I think it makes the best, most evenly toasted bread I have ever had. You should do a comparison! 🍞

    A long known hack is to put a spoonful of water in a ramekin and put that in a regular toaster oven to do the same thing without the high cost of that machine. You can add a few drops of vinegar to the water to help refresh some bakery items as well.

    Given that a good, high-quality toaster oven is about $180, I'm not hating the cost too much here, if it is that much better. I'd wonder about the warranty and longevity, though.

    This might be weird, but day old croissants are my guilty pleasure, especially chocolate 😂 I sometimes buy two just so I can eat one the next day. I also sometimes put them in the fridge 😂

      Lol we all have our things. My friend insists the only way to eat leftover meat is standing in front of the fridge eating it cold like a scavenging animal. 😂

      @@batacumba I mean a nice cold chicken and butter sandwich is really, really good (or cold ham and butter sandwich), though I'm not sure I've tried anything else meat-wise cold from the fridge

    I'll stick with my $150 Tovala steam oven - toasts up to four slices, broils, bakes, reheats... And it's big enough for a whole spatchcock chicken...

    Is the bottom of toast less crispy because you left the pan in during the toasting process? Couldn't tell. What a gorgeous slab of homemade bread!!

    Nope. Will keep my 1982 Hamilton Beach toaster oven over this any day. And MY toaster has brown orange and yellow adjustable lines around the knobs that's so ....beautiful. LoL. Wow. I guess if you don't have a good Hamilton Beach late 70s or early 80s toaster oven this thing will do. 😜. Btw...I can steam in mine too...
    Your homemade bread looks wonderful!
