Great video great to see people making this kind of stuff for the community. Glad you noticed the death could be front loaded situationally and not during rift window compared to last rotation guide. Noticing when to cast it during rift and not is a huge deal imo. Excellent stuff. Thank you.
Hey just getting into a discipline priest I've never played wow and my friends want me to play they need a healer go figure and I can tell they can't help me lol. Anyway we can hook up and get set up as atleast? I'm off today so let me know please
HEY! great video really easy to follow and understand why things re happening! I have an issue where when i go for the six torment rotation my voidwraith runs out befor e i get the two smites out at the end so i dont get the shadow word death and the last penance out (because penance cooldown isnt reset yet because iam missing a smite). Are there haste thresholds to be met for this to work? I understand how it is supposed to work but for some reason it doesnt line up for me. I am specced into train of thought and torment.
Hi, amazing content, thank you! Could you please tell us when do you stop staking haste and go for another secondary stat? and what do you prio after haste, crit or mastery?
Why not do 2 radiances / rapture + evangelism (w harsh discipline talent point) before ramp as you’ll get 4 more bolts of penance which increase rift damage?
Considered it and have in the past.. but I kinda have to favor my own gameplay first here and keep it clean. I have done my best with my UI tho so that you can still see my actions without that extra addon. Using traditional action bars should make it possible for you to follow along. With the sounds too, and have a WA that shows which instant casts I use. on the cast bar
@@JustDiscipline You can't count on the fact that people should know your UI. And on your demonstration, instant casts are not displayed on your cast bar. Either add the mentioned WeakAuras to see the instant casts on your cast bar, or use the mentioned addon for people to follow along. If you really don't want to clutter your screen, which is a good point, you can enable the addon only for your demonstration recordings. But the cleaner option would be to include instant casts to your cast bar.
@@syned149 I actually think it is kinda fair to have people read my action bars since they are default bars. They have graphics included showing casts bars, cast cancels, and cast completion.. And check again, instant casts are 100% shown, too. Their name splashes right where the bar is.. Your argument would hold more water if it were reversed "you can't expect people to know all your specific Addons." A default UI is a commonality we all share and the exact reason I bank into it.
so to be clear, we should be trying to walk into either 6 or 8 torment windows with the party covered in full length atonements? or should is it fine to radiance first? Icy veins suggests voidwraith > mind blast > radiance > penance, voidblasts, and shadow word death is the icy veins rotation more for beginners to the spec like me (im about 10 hours into disc but i am 2.5k on MW rn) and your suggested rotation is more advanced and min/maxxy?
@@Cornnbreadd as your opener you need to put your torment spells on cd immediately without spells in between. I lead in with our 15 second atonements for all the talents that go along with those spells; often I will already be holding an HD proc as I cast it in between combat, but it’s a weaker atonement ramp to only rely on radiance on pull start. If you delay your first penance with more spells first you will be dropping torments.
@@JustDiscipline okay that makes sense so like in a m+ if we are all walking to the next pack and say it takes like 6 seconds to get there and i expect significant damage to come out soon after engaging (like the despoilers that pulse AoE in SV for example), i should shield the tank, throw up a couple renews, use a flash of light proc if i have it and then maybe another shield on someone, covering everyone in atonements so then i can start the voidwraith window when the damage is happening, casting radiance in between when the initial atonements fall off and ensuring the collapse overlaps. would that be correct? Really what im unsure of is whether or not renew is actually worth it to cast when setting up in those situations. I've seen conflicting opinions on that. Some people even have said they may cast renew once or twice in an entire dungeon. but I dont see how else to get those 15 sec atonements out while moving (outside of rapture). I am so used to pushing with mistweaver so being ranged is new to me. Also thank you for responding!
Renew is a great atonement applicator. People that rarely use it probably use radiance instead and avoid having to bind another button. But as mentioned in the video it's not optimal.
I used to main disc in MOP where atonement is a passive built in. Came back in SL DF TWW to be more casual (as atonement is an active spell now) so i played a holy priest. (Im a dad now and just wanted to chill). Always have the itch to try disc as holy is too easy. Havent really commit to disc because i usually pug and i understand that disc is not good in emergency spot heal. May i know how true is it and do you recommend disc in a pug environment where people step in fire and let casts go off? My target is only M+10. I am really considering a private lesson to improve once i get disc rolling and have a feel on it. Disc priest is always considered as the hardest healer and it is my wet dream to be good at it.
@@Priestitude this idea of we don’t have good spot healing largely will point to poor approach to the spec. As in you’re playing Disc as if it were Holy, without much proactivity. Weal & Woe is AMAZING ST heal.. if you're playing ahead of damage and can see those things in your UI
You mentioned in between mindbender (so when you don't have much healing throughput), using ps, keeping dots up on multi target, rapture and I probably guess barrier as needed. You did mention something about strengthening our shields which I didn't understand but lost the comment on the old video if you can remember? Thanks
Hello, thanks for the video, your dungeons reviews also very helpful! I am just starting as a healer, and everyone says disc is the hardest one, is that true though? Its just the only healer i find interesing.. Thanks!
Might just be a preference thing, but as disc does great priority damage I play death after the first penance in the torment window for the extra damage. I would drop divine star all together for another void blast as star is really just padding when you could get extra damage into focusing a dangerous mob down. I think this is also preferable for more healing. Especially on bosses
@@Obsessions95 playing death in your rift window means one less void blast, same reasoning you made about Star- SW:Death before the Rift! Void Blast is way more valuable on Schism, more than a death on the schism. Sacrificing 1 blast if you play death within your rift. Putting death in the rift also means less cdr for your penance making it harder for your torments in the long run. And harder for your 2x penance in the rift.
@@JustDiscipline I would agree if torment didn’t benefit from schism. But a death + torment is almost double the damage of one void blast. Making it a better option. What you say about the penance CDR is true, but with 32% haste I still can only fit 2 penances into my rift. And 2 penances shouldn’t be a problem for most 620+ geared priests. You are right in that you can get a third penance in the mindbender window at the very end of the duration. But I think trading that for more upfront healing and damage is better, as hardly any damage mechanics require 20+ seconds of intensive healing
@@Obsessions95 I did a lot of testing and you’re more commonly going to drop a torment that way. Moreover, a blast hits harder than death and torment combined, and when you’re lowering your torment average to boot is not good! Details gives you the highs and lows of each spell, you can make the comparison.
