I have played Banish many of times...and the simplest things you did at the start...I never thought of doing. Starvation was always an issue. And you casually left them homeless for a good minute. I always rushed the Gather Hut and homes...Definitely learned something new in this video.
Starting with a boarding house also works well. It doesn't allow citizens to 'hoard' the limited food and firewood leaving others without any, and keeps them housed and warm.till you have enough food and firewood generation to let them have individual homes.
I'm glad I could help! Yes, inhabitants of houses will transport food to their home which will block access to it for everyone else. Thus, you can have enough food, but people can't get to it.
@@nicholasq203 I was actually contemplating aborting the recording for a moment. I'm happy I didn't even though I probably would've reached a thousand citizens an hour earlier without this. It's most certainly the most thrilling moment in the video and I hope some viewers could enjoy it! XD
Hello Michael. I love seeing your stuff. You're very efficient at your work and it is a blast to watch them. If you don't mind me asking, would you consider playing modded banished ,"Colonial Charter" for example?
I play without quarries and mines, they just permanently block building space as soon as they're depleted. Instead, I rely on traders to supply me with stone and iron. I need several trading posts in order to achieve a steady flow of traders to come in.
Yeah, I think I never demolished a cemetery in this game before. Thus, I didn't know the tomb stones would stay. If I'd played this privately, I wouldn't have cared for the order of the cemetery and the church. But for the video, I wanted every little town to look as much the same as possible.
What else would you want me to do? I've reached 1000 citizens, I bought all seeds and animals, I built every building there is. From this point, all I can do is reaching an even higher population and/or just survive.
How do I motivate the citizens to give birth,I literally have everything together,my food storage it to capacity, everyone is employed, but people r dying of old age no one to replace them
You probably need more living space. People won't mate if they still live with their parents. Two adults must move into an empty house to start to reproduce.
Sometimes, you just have to return to the dumdeedeedum deedeedum deedeedumdumdum dumdeedeedum deedeedum deedeedumdumdum, am I right?
Hahaha. It's the worst song to get stuck in your head
@@alishakellert I actually had one of the game's songs stuck in my head for a couple of days, that was the reason for me getting back into it! XD

@@FoxtrotYouniform Interesting, I never tried that!
I know I am a year late, but you explain so much with just your mouse cursor. Spot on brother!
Thanks! :)
Yeah, I mastered the talking through the mouse cursor method over the years! :D
YESSSSS! This game is a classic for a reason. Love it
Thanks for enjoying the video! :)
2:58:12 Look at the sheer destruction !!!
I 100% would've stopped playing immediately if that happened to me

The way you hover the mouse cursor over function buttons. 10/10
Thanks! Yeah, I try to do what I can to assure that people can follow my actions without me talking.
awesome job your doing
Thank you! :D

Thank you for enjoying what I do! :)
I played Colonial Charter some years ago: ruclips.net/video/EvRPyMxlkbk/видео.html
Newb question... why build a 2nd trading post so early (28:15)?

I really love this game so much❤
Oh man I havent seen this one in ages...wish I could remember who I used to watch who played it.
Oof putting that church on the grave stones at 1:54:40
But you had your revenge at 3:15:17

What makes it so hard to see at the beginning?
I don't know, can you elaborate? Maybe it's the weather effects? Someone in the comments mentioned I should turn them off.
@@MichaelJGetsTheJobDone you're right, it's the rain.
i never understood the point in building a market when ppl can just get food from the barns?
also why build several trading posts right next to each other?
always liked this type of games, a shame that you cant build a castle in this :I
I just played Kingdoms and Castles, that was enough castle for a while! XD
:D@@MichaelJGetsTheJobDone
If i could make a suggestion to make it easier for viewers: turn weather effects off. The rain sounds lovely, but is hard to see gameplay
Yeah, I actually thought about turning them off. In the end, I decided to leave them turned on. I hope the video's still somewhat enjoyable!
10 years of banished
Part 2 please

@@MichaelJGetsTheJobDone sure, you can try to reach 2000 maybe? Idk what's the record of population.
