R.I.P one of the best
Elliott was my first inspiration and kept me in the darkroom for many hours. Thank you for this!
You're so welcome!
What a smart and articulate guy. Thank you.
RS. Canada
Love his demeanor.
Elliott Erwitt is my favorite, funny he is answering directly there are no fills in his answers.
"I don't like to talk about anything." That sealed it for me. What a great guy. Zero pretense.
I could listen to Elliott all day long but his photographs speak volumes. He often says he is not a good talker and with photographs like his and his sense of humor and humanity it would be great loss. He is one of the all-time greats!
Wow, at 90 still inspiring!
An amazing Photographer and an amazing sense of Humor! I especially liked chapter number 3
I love him : ) One of, possibly my favorite, photographer. Thank you both!
😊🖖🏻
"Thumbs up" is actually an understatement here...
He’s a legend, always has good humor, especially in the photographs
He's outstanding...
LOOOOOOOOOVE this!!!!
The Art of Photography Thank you, Ted. I knew you’d get it. Love what YOU do!
Love this man ....got to try and afford his books
Love this! I wish there was a longer version!
Shalom, Elliott.
Lovely, honest and down to earth man. His photography is inspirational. Elliot isn't half bad, too! Great interview, Hugh. I'm 5 years late to this, but I got here in the end 😉
Welcome!
So much in love with Elliott Erwitt and his great works! Thank you!
Big thanakrit as you can tell, my pleasure.
I've always liked Elliott Erwitt's no nonsense approach to photography as a craft. In my opinion he's really a photographers photographer.
My paternal grandfather and my father were dentists. I ended up as a photographer. My grandfather gave me my first camera, a plastic Brownie that used 127 film. That got me started.
Outstanding!!!
Photography`s a craft. Pretty much says it all.
Great interview with the Great Man!
❤️ My surname is Elliott, spelt slightly different but I have always felt proud (and more than slightly intimidated/overshadowed) by Mr Erwitt 🌞 he's such a cutie in his golden years 😍 lucky interviewer! X
What a great man 😍, and I really love his humor…
Thanks for this fabulous video!
You know it was our pleasure, Holger! 😊
He and his photos are so alike -- both delight. One of a kind
Incredible.
What a wonderful, enigmatic, and beautiful man.... they dont make them like that anymore for sure.... it would be a lot poorer world without people like Elliot.... god bless him... BR, Yoki..
Thank you for putting this out there. The new generation needs it badly.
Three things I love about this video - Elliott Erwitt , his work and the jazz music in outro
I had missed this one - thanx for putting it on the playlist.
See you soon, Ed!
I love elders with a passion. They are so simple... and in no rush... really involved in the moment.
Wow. Truly inspiring simplicity
'I don't think so. (Pause.) No. (Pause.) You can't compose very well with a telephone.' Priceless.
Adam Czarnowski 😊
@@3BMEP Sent you a Facebook friend request this morning. ;)
I like Elliott ... he's got class and a dry wit.
Dean Harrington yes and yes!
His comeback on 'what do you want to talk about?' ... the 'weather?' was right there in more ways than one!
Some days I get up and check those rolling clouds and just know, something is going to look interesting.
I was lucky to be able to spend a day with Elliot 15 years ago. It was a very special experience. He talked passionately about photography, both his commercial work and what he considered his hobby street photography. He also talked about photographers rights and the vigorous need to defend copyright. A great man and a great photographer.
Paul Amyes How wonderful!
Thanks for this interview. I saw an exhibition of his work in Paris last month. His parents fled the Russian revolution to Paris, but there’s never been any information about them. Elliot grew up in Europe and the USA, so he’s an accomplished linguist. His body of work (600,000+ photos) is simply amazing!
A legend. Thanks for sharing!
Jan T So happy we could do this!
Very humble man, many of us could learn from him! Great interview!!!
SOOOO good. Elliot is such a nice old wise man. Thanks for sharing.
Truly our pleasure.
Grande elliot !
Fantastic content. Great interview 👍
Thank you for the interview! It’s great
Thank you for the wonderful interview with a wonderful photographer. But those chapter titles... It was obvious from your questions, so it wasn't necessary to repeat it.
Excellent session!
Most excellent
His work is amazing, thanks for this interview.
Insightful, witty and all with an economy of words. Thank you Elliott and you sir for another enjoyable video.
Brilliant!
He is a tough cookie!
A great interview with a legend of photography! Chapeau Mr. !
Just brilliant. What a privilege. Thank you 😁
Delicious interview!
Hugh thank you for this! What a pleasure it must have been for you to spend time with Elliot. Without question, one the best of all time.
Thanks, love it.
Great guy. Just that short glimpse of the photos from that book, and I was hooked.
One of my favorite ever, simply out of this world!
Fantastic.Absolute truth.
Having an opportunity to sit down and talk with Elliot Erwitt - WOW! I am happy for you! ...also I am jealous ;)
😊
Stumbled on this and I can’t stop smiling. Fantastic.

Mark Hornby it was great fun!
My favourite photographer of all time!
Once again, simply marvelous......thank you.
Daniel Conti Thank you for watching!
I was delighted and charmed by this interview. Erwitt is a master, and it was lovely to see that he was still alive and was working at the time this film was made. We are lucky that Hugh has taken the time and effort to capture, what is a piece of photographic history. Thank you Hugh!
😊🙏🏻🖖🏻
Your productions are top-notch.
JB Gimena So glad you enjoy them!
Thanks so much for this concise, well-structured interview with one of my favorite photographers.
Kenneth Tanaka It was my joy!

This is Epic! Elliot is so real! Enjoyed it so much. Thank you!
🙏🏻😊
Thanks for make great video witg legend photographer
Our pleasure!
Thank you 🙏 My down-to-earth hero. Was grinning from ear to ear all the way through. Quirky, funny, deeply human artists do have that effect. And those glimpses of Pittsburg were sublime 🙏
The greatest photographer
C'est très sophistiqué ! Lovely interview. You always managed to produce very interesting content, and to a point I don't know how to express it but It feels somehow elegant, above the mundane. Mr. Erwitt is just a legend!
Edgard Wiresner I can’t tell you how much comments like these energize us to do more - thank you!
CLASSIC
I purchased 'Home Around The World' recently. I believe it to be the best and most carefully blended story on Elliot's work and life. Highly recommended.
I wish I could spend my whole life with such heavenly precious moments moments of life. So simple so adorable! Thanks to all the members of Three Blind Men and One Elephant for presenting dreams become so real! The mellow conversation will always be remembered and forgetting it would be equal to forgetting a duty which I really have to do everyday.
Wonderful, now go do more like this!
Joel Webster Working on it!
Best interview ever ! You where very brave! thanxs
🙏🏻😊🖖🏻
I had the honor to edit the Laudatio for FC. Gundlach (Henri Nannen Preis 2012) and I did. the edit for Robert Frank at the Swiss Press Photo Lifetime Achievement Award 2012. It was a joy. And I learned so much for my photography that was sleeping at that moment. So keep on making this documentary work! From Hamburg Greetings Peter
@@peterlund4501where can we see your 2012 edit? Would love to see it!
@@3BMEP I have to get the data out of a show server. We did this for an award show in bern . The context: we projected the complete show on three backdrops that had the form of houses. So i will upload the Clip inside the Projektion and a Timelapse to illustrate the show. I will provide a link to you. Cheers 🥂
Have fun 🤩
An inspiring interview with truly one of the giant’s of photography. What an absolute treat to watch and listen to the two of you. Thanks again, Hugh, for yet another special moment.
Harv Greenberg it was my joy and privilege!
He is a trip..lol truly awesome to see a master in our time.👍
jans yes!
Hi Hugh good evening. Thank you for the like that my comment. Mind me if I share this idea....has any one or/ have you ever seen some one attempting a panoramic shot on 8x10 camera?? It should be an interesting challenge.....and I would say an amazing result at the end of the day. I'm a digital photographer on all my work, but I appreciate the quality of this format and the stunning results it delivers. Would these be considered a leap forward from the creative bench??
Beautiful interview A great privilege to be able to interview that genius !!! He is a man who I deeply admire his work. Greetings as always from Argentina!
So nice to see you here!
What an opportunity, Hugh. This is fantastic.
Elliott was great!
Elliott is just as I would have imagined from his photos, wry, humane and mischievous.
👍🏻😊
Id sure like to get my hands on his book that you feel would be the best to buy.enjoyed this video. James photographer.
Precise, short, interesting... (Y)
Oh this is going to be good.
Ah, Leica. The only other sound that is so heavenly then the almost inaudible whisper of it's shutter as it captures an image designed, and well thought out by it's maker, is the gentle sound of a newborn baby as she draws in oxygen, and breathes out life, and in this case, extraordinary images of life.
What an eye...
Wow.
So great!!! Thank you very much, Hugh - loved it. And remember: "The first 10,000 pictures are the worst." - Elliott Erwitt
Jim Bean Fantastic! Thank you!
Great subject, superb approach - and lets see how we like to be interviewed at Elliott's age!
John Reid Agreed!
MARVELLoUS, EXTRAoRDINARY AND AWESoME. THANKS FoR THIS KIND oF REENCoUNTER. AND THANKS To THE MASTER, MR. ERWITT. BEST REGARDS. NANo.
A once in a lifetime opportunity!! I'd wished I could had have the opportunity to meet such an extraordinaire photographer
And human being. Nowadays people could care less about digging into their roots. There's a lot to learn from our ancestors!! Thanks for such interesting interview!!
Julio Aponte My pleasure!
