Watching in 2021! So happy I discovered Conor Oberst and Bright Eyes. Genuinely love this guy and the music og lyricicm. It it currently helping me through rough times. Hope to over day see him live.
I am glad that he cleared that up in this video, saying that everyone was asking him about whether or not he had seen any aliens, because when I saw him in April, he rambled on about UFO's and I was beginning to think he had lost it. Although if he had lost it, I wouldn't mind at all. He is the type of person that even though not everyone likes him, just about everyone respects him as a person.
I fell away from Bright Eyes as I grew into adulthood, but listening to him in this interview and listening to some of the music...I think he's grown up a bit too.
Why would anybody consider Bright Eyes a solo project? Aside from the first album it has clearly been a collaborative project between Conor and Mike Mogis (obviously also including loads of other musicians, with Andy Lemaster and Nate Walcott being particularly prominent contributors). But just look at how many instruments and arrangements Mike has contributed to nearly every Bright Eyes song, not to mention his input as a producer. Suggesting that Bright Eyes is a solo project is fucking ridiculous.
this is what i love about him!! his music is about quality not money and capitalism. I love conor oberst's musical abilities ! xD i'm just kind of sad Bright Eyes last show will be in london and i won't be able to attend it! (p.s. it was on my bucket list to go to his concer) oh well ! long live his music!
