This woman's acting resume is incredible. I honestly feel nobody could have played Bellatrix Lestrange except her.
The strangest thing is probably, that she played Queen Elizabeth the Queen mother in The King's speech and princess Margaret, the Queen's sister in The Crown
And she has one of the sexy charm, hottest. I like her.
She is basically the female version of Johnny Depp. So talented.
A lot of the casting choices in HP were really spot-on.
Me too
She is like a female Johnny Depp. Just has an absolute blast playing whatever role she's in, and seems like a genuinely amazing person
Better than Depp. She’s so intense.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!
@@poseidonoceanstorm7396 yes
@@poseidonoceanstorm7396 you've got to be joking, he was terrible in that. that was when he basically became a parody of himself
@@poseidonoceanstorm7396 Gene Wilder was the best.
Helena as Hermione who is playing Bellatrix....Helena is the best! She pulls off this scene so well!
I agree.
she studied how Emma (Hermione) talked and acted and everything so closely I always forget that’s Helena and not actually Emma
@@jjprentiss9192Same. She is amazing
Helena is one of the best actresses. I love her and the director made the best choice. No one could replace her🙂
yeah nobody has this crazy PSYCHOTIC behavior you're right
Much as I dislike your character, I agree with you, she is to Johnny Depp as Madeline Kahn was to Gene Wilder!
Daniel thought the same :-)
@@zarachastellaris9016 -That's not his character. That is his identity
Eva Green is the only one I can think of that'd come close.
This is so funny to watch knowing Dan had a crush on Helena
funny?Daniel was dying inside 9:50.
basically everyone on the set had a crush on either Tom Felton or Helena
As a man of any age, how could you not crush on HBC? Even now and she's pushing 60
So true😆
@@enikovarga2533 or Emma.
"And if I start talking, Gary.. just let me.. Improvise." SHE'S AMAZING
Bellatrix was always the character that scared me (even more than Voldemort) the scene where she tortured Hermione freaked me out but the behind the scenes just show how nice she is in real life
Thats because Voldy is cold and calculating - anytime he kills someone he does it quick, easy, he does it because he has to in order to get what he wants. Bellatrix takes her time ajd enjoys it. Shes sadistic. Voldemort never made it personal (except harry of course) but Bellatrix would torture anything and anyone to have a laugh
Why are all the evil characters in movies the nicest in real life 😭😭
@@thesnaildaughter8660 no they are not
@@thesnaildaughter8660 Sadly, not all of them - the actor who voiced Hopper in _A Bug's Life_ turned out to be a pedophile. :(
@@GAMINGBLAZE lmao who you know that isnt? Just curious
Watching HP as a kid, Helena was absolutely terrifying and so ridiculously good at playing her character
Man, it's so mind-blowing to see Helena playing Emma playing Hermione playing Bellatrix. That can't be an easy task, but she pulled it off so brilliantly.
The way she’s doing her accent too
Where? When? Who?
That has been my favorite moment in terms of acting, perhaps across all the films.
Can you time stamp the scene?

Whenever I have a bad hair day and I can't fix it right away, I just say "Helena Bonham Carter" and carry on. I love her messy hair. 🥰
Same
I can't believe they cut out the battle between Sirius and Bella...
FR
It would have been interesting to see. On the other hand, I think it's easier to accept Sirius being taken out by her cheap shot Avada Kedavra spell rather than being killed in a proper duel.
@@marcw6875 I think the same.
I have never read the books, but I think that Sirus Black is more powerful than Bellatrix.
Good Vibes!
@@marcw6875 In the books Bellatrix didn't use the killing curse at all, she stunned him and he was thrown through the veil, it was almost like a tragic accident...
The movie adaptation works well for its medium as it has to be visually impactful and meaningful, but part of me still wishes they prolonged the duel a bit more.
Having read the books I was really looking forward to seeing the two of them duel, as it was kind of an equal rivalry, but they ended up cutting it out pretty much, with no interaction between Sirius and Bellatrix besides that sneak Avada Kedavra from her...
They should release extended version please!
They’re really good actors when they’re playing without the sound effect
all actors in any movie do the same since effects are added in post productions
@@UE5n00b i thought they used actual magic
@@jab3020they do use real magic don't believe those muggle lies...
It looks so hilarious watching them cast spells before the CGI is added.
Lmfaoooooooooo
I was just laughing at that and applauding the professionalism needed to keep a straight face take after take. A bunch of adults in costumes, pretending to cast spells. Is this what cosplay is like? 😃
haha u should see the behind the scenes of the supergirl show
@David Rodriguez when no one around is laughing and is actually at work day after day of doing this, it just becomes normal. It's not silly anymore cause you prob just want to go home because you're at work so you just do the shit to get through
11:28 Yeah. That's hillarious.
Helena can probably be added to the list of actors who play villains in films that are actually very nice in real life.
Tom Wilson as Biff Tannen, William Dafoe as Norman Osborn...
That’s literally almost every actor ever
@@Alex26108 wouldnt that be great
And Imelda Staunton
yes because most villains in movies are played by actual villains
man i wish the internet is banned one day for 10 year old kids like you.
She is a British acting Goddess. Love every part she's ever played
Just how bad the world has become for you to call a talented (worked hard for it) person a God/Goddess?😟
Playing a character like hers is incredibly difficult. The villians are often hardest to transform into for the scenes because very often the villians are played by super friendly and wholesome actors that are just good at turning a 180 on their persona the moment the camera starts rolling. Respect for Helena, an amazing actress.
Helena playing Emma playing Bellatrix is one of the best moments of acting I've ever seen
Good point, my friend. Helena did an amazing job on that.
7:42 I love how the Dark Lord's table gives off a warm and cozy vibe before the color grading process 😄😄
He's the dark lord. He should be comfortable shouldn't he? XD
Even though I hate Bellatrix, Helena Bonham Carter Did A Really Great Job Portraying Her. Kudos to you!
OOTP introduced us to some of the best villain portrayls in the series. Bellatrix and Umbridge both make you feel some type of way about them. The actresses killed it.
She did such a good job she made u hate her character😂
@@shield2957 Same with Umdridge... the actress played so well that I hate her
Same!! Bellatrix really does bother me but Helena Bonham Carter is just a queen and an icon!!!!
Helena did such an amazing job of playing Bellatrix. To act in such a believable way the role of probably the most unhinged character in the entire series is a true testament to her skill as an actress. Voldemort was messed up but Bellatrix was truly insane.
11:33 the mob of wizards casting spells, without seeing the actual spells, looks funny
It would be so funny if the wizarding world was actually an 'Emperor's new clothes' situation, where everyone was just pretending everyone was doing magic, while no one really was. Until one day a kid shows up at Hogwarts and after a couple of days is just like "Wait. What is going on here? Nobody is actually doing any magic." Everyone's just larping and no one dares point it out 🤣
It could very well be a mosh pit if you add hardcore punk music to it. 😂😂😂
The casting was spot on in these movies. Helena natural eccentricity fitted the Madame Lestrange character like a glove.
Perfect casting. Helena plays Helena who is all 72 flavours of crazy and let’s face facts, Bellatrix is a couple of waves short of a shipwreck.
9:35 The fact that Helena was working on The King’s Speech at the same time
Mrs Bonham Carter is not just an amazing actress, but seems like such a sweet and genuine person too. Intimidating, oh yes, but loveable too.
Haha watching her and Gary filming their duel really took the drama out of it. Nothing like two adults play fighting 😂
All I see commissioner James Gordon fighting against goth version of Harley Quinn
If they ever re-make the movies or produce a series, I feel like the new Bellatrix would have the hardest job of all characters of living up to the acting chops that Helena has put on screen for us!
Whatabout hagrid or luna
Snape and Uncle Vernon too. RIP Alan and Richard
@@wolphelia Uncle Vernon was absolutely stellar. The only casting choice that never made sense to me was Gary Oldman as Sirius.
@@PeachPlastic Why do you think that? I am just curious, not judging your opinion, for me, I think Sirius had too little screen time, so I don't really have an opinion about him.
Harry: *has a crush on Bellatrix*
Voldemort: SCREW YOU, HARRY!!!
*i just read that with voldemort's voice* XD
@@Cynderfan35 me too haha
Bellatrix: *calling Harry* dat is ma baby doggo ❤
Rare footage of Sirius and Bellatrix actually behaving like cousins
Such a goth icon! She’s one of my favourite actress, and made Bellatrix definitely my favourite HP’s character.
This woman not having won an Oscar is such a crazy fact.
Truly incredible character actors often get ignored by the Academy. Guys like Gary Oldman have never won one either.
@@ktvindicareOldman got one a few years ago
@amelianolde6743 oh yea he got one finally for playing Churchill that's right. So he's not the most egregious example anymore but he was for a long time of exactly this sort of thing. Helena Bonham might have taken the mantle of being one of the most famous character actors to not have a trophy for it.
@@amelianolde6743 lord knows how happy I am he won one!!
Not gonna lie I love it when they show them fighting with their wands before post production adds in the effects, sounds, and music, its hilarious just to see everyone flailing their hands around like they are crazy.
12:51 wow. Harry Potter is the definition of “saved in post” because every wizard in this battle looks ridiculous without the magic edited in!
Minor point, love when the director said it is okay to improvise, Helena Bonham Carter was told, 'but not you' with Helen McCrory (RIP) agreeing :):)
“I’m trying to be the Queen Mother at the same time as being Bellatrix.”-Helena Bonham Carter 2010
Whenever you think you’re in the hardest dilemma life has given to you, remember Helena totally nailed both!!
The thing is - when Helena is playing Hermione pretending to be Bellatrix - she's just fantastic. She and Emma worked together so that Helena could walk and talk and act like Hermione - and she absolutely pulls it off. When I was watching the first time it was like I was watching Hermione. Not Bellatrix, not Helena, not Emma - but Hermione all dressed up in black.
And of course - as Bellatrix - she's absolutely vicious.
.
her performance was a big part of what made me a Bellatrix fan, plus like many villain actors she seems super nice and friendly in real life
That laugh!!! It’s completely deliciously insane….
11:45 this is my brain while watching this and Simultaneously trying to Remember the CGI from some scenes in this video
Damn man, in those years, while everyone was interested in Emma, I was also interested in Helena Bonham, she is a very attractive woman.
Me too bro
I love Daniel just completely agreeing with Helena on him being more mature than her but that not meaning much with just a nod and a shake.
You know Daniel was loving that kiss from Helena. I certainly would. 0_0 💕
I liked how at the end, during the general battle, Voldemort takes away the mattress🤣
I REALLY like the behind the scenes of Hermione as Bellatrix because of the implication that it's the most accurate adaptation of what it must have sounded like in the book
She’s honestly my favourite actress of all time. Just perfect in everything and lovely irl.
I like how Bellatrix is explaining everything in the movie of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2. She makes me smiles 💗.
And I was like: "What are trying to do with me?" *Smiles*
How can you not love this woman?
11:32 lol it made me laugh so hard!
its like a crew of teenagers in a urban competition of rap or whatever like this XD
The behind the scenes is something everyone wants to see
I could imagine that Carter becomes just a "okay, act," from the director and than just starts doing stuff that comes to her mind like Bill Murray
Bellatrix was an insane and scary loose cannon character in the films and Helena played her perfectly.
She was so perfect for the role. Helena Bonham Carter is an amazing actress.... so good that she convinced millions she was evil.
HBC’s ability to act as Hermione acting as Bellatrix always amazed me.
It is a total mindf*ck to think about Helena playing Hermione playing Bellatrix. The way the actor has to still keep the small essences from Bellatrix while delving inside the mind of Emma and Herminone combining how Emma and Hermione would think is pretty amazing and it shows the talent Helena has
Helena is the best no one could play Bella better than her
If she were younger, I might offer Jennifer Saunders (of AbFab) as a good Bellatrix.
It's so funny watching everyone flail their arms about in complete silence 🤣
Helena Bonham Carter as a Bellatrix Lestrange is legendary, really !
"He is more mature than me, but that's not saying much" lmao
It’s really fascinating watching how the films are done !! They did an amazing job !!
Yes! And they are REAL MAGIC when they are acting together❤ They really need do work together more often.
10:37 I'm like: she's actually a maniac
The wand fighting in large groups of people is absolutely hilarious without effects
Love her! She is a stunning actress, and her acting is spot on and believable.
I must say that the acting of all the characters is incredible, especially that of Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes) and Bellatrix (Helena Bonham Carter). The powerful portrayal of difficult times by the Director is unmatched.
5:32 she totally changed her vocie wuah
I really like Helena Bonham Carter. She is a fantastic actress.
9:56 Having helena as the mother figure at that time with daniel, its like a son and mother relationship, even though they are friends❤❤❤❤
@1:25 that extra killed it. Mysterious. Dark. Great way to bring out the scene
Helena is such an awesome actress.
Bellatrix is a terror
But Helena is such a lovely person
Yep
Brilliant actress Helena will always be one of the greats in acting. Love her fun spirit and playfulness imagine having a day with her going for a coffee what fun that would be. ❤❤❤
I love her! she always manages to shine in every role she is
Helena and Ralph are the best actors😍💖💝
11:59 At that's how Molly, after tasting murder, became a death eater.
It was extraordinary to see her be hermione pretending to be Belatrix.
This woman is incredible
I wish they kept Helena's voice in the Gringott's scene, she did really well at impersonating Hermione impersonating Bellatrix.
All I can say is acting in this era with all this green screen stuff and having to remember that too as you’re acting in an environment it’s not yet built around you, still makes acting even tougher than ever.
Hhahaha Helena can just run around screaming and shouting being childish and not get told off😂I love her🌹❤️🔥
Probably because she was method acting.
She was my Childhood crush, still is
Helena is amazing actress 🙂👍
5:57 As a cosplayer that cosplays Bellatrix and is called Emma, that was very funny and confusing.
She's one of a few cast who'd completely smashed the role.
Umbridge comes to mind, as does Snape.
HBC: This is my dog.
DR: *liked that*
When you play a character so well everyone is instinctively terrified of that character, you did something right, unless that was never your intention
Even to this day, watching Helena play Bellatrix Lestrange in the movie still gives me chills!!!! What a perfect casting.
I have such a crush on her.
Molly: Who's next? >:(
Bellatrix: Yee!
Molly: \o/
This is amazing 😂
I just love Bellatrix's character. She takes such pure pleasure in being evil. She's evil and loving every second of it.
9:43 LMAO, both so cute
"Don't be afraid to go offscript"
"Not you"
7:23
So great to see how such fights were recorded. I'd almost expect real currses to fly around, but all is happening in silence. Great acting!!
Helena Carter is such a wonderful actress. I really enjoy the movies she has made and her poetry readings. ❤
3:00 I love the taste of microphones roasted on an open fire.
She should have won an Oscar.
Bellatrix: Bet you I can touch this note, Dark Lord!
Voldemort: No, please don't!
Bellatrix: Wee waa! Wee waa! Wee waa!
Voldemort: 👉😒
10:45 she was genuinely laughing ❤😂
12:54 That flying pillow caught me off-guard. 🤣
Me as a teen : I can fix her
Now watching this : yo she's actually a nice person with extraordinary acting skills, im amazed 😊
she needs to be in more stuff, she's always good, it's like the female Nick Cage, all kinds of crazy
She's been in loads TBF
Queen of epic roles. Only her and Tilda Swinton who are on the same level
