The next steps: first, catapults. This allows for food runs to have portions where you load the food and can race to where it's going to land without having to worry about it until the last moment - where you have to be cleansed of elements while catching it out of the air. Then, repeat with carrying some kind of "scent bubbles" underwater. Then, add stealth segments to all of the above. Then, add all of this to the very slowly maturing player tools for domain creation.
It’s thanks to this event right here that I found out about portable teleport waypoints. I was a new player, I just started mid 1.1 and this event happened. I forgot about this event (I think I blocked it from my brain). There were some pretty bad challenges early on like the first Windbloom Festival where you had to run up a hill avoiding huge bubbles and the wind gusts would push you into the bubbles trapping you as the clock ticked down. This one, however was particularly maddening because if you jumped off a hill, got attacked or accidentally charged forward you failed the quest and had to restart.
I remember that even tho I needed the primos for a character I was saving for, I dropped the event after 2 tries and wrote some illegal things I'd do to the creator of the event in the survey. To this day, it stands as the only event I ever dropped in Genshin.
I remember attempting this event in good faith - up until the very last day where it failed me like 20 meters from the end goal. Well, this seems like a kind of torture I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy, though logically this event would be easier with many characters we have available right now. But I get how you feel, you kinda wish you could experience it to see what it's like. Also this event at least looks challenging, as in you actually need to think about your approach and strategy. Events nowadays are... okayish, mostly
that's why they're not making these type of event anymore tbh , it's kinda fun if you took out the loading screen part and make it better plus it makes more contents for player to talk about

To be completely honest. I loved this event. Okay, i didn't know the loading screen time counts, that obviously sucks, i had a good pc so i didn't notice that. I'd be happy if they fixed that and then brought it back. Yes it was kinda frustrating and very hard but that's what i loved about it. With combat we get to pillow fight with enemies. With platforming events we get to jump around with like 4.5/5 minutes left on the timer. This was an actual challenge, not in combat but kinda like a platformer. Okay, maybe you could also just say something like "deliver the food at all and you get the primos, deliver it within the time and then you get the rest" like they do with the combat challenge events now. Then it's optional and no one should be too pissed about it but if you want to you can go for the challenge.
I remember that series of events vividly and hated every moment of it. Nowadays I’d end up crafting a million and a half waypoints so I could find where the person is and set the waypoint up right next to them so if I do fail I could just teleport straight there. Unless HoYoVerse decided to be even more evil than just bringing the event back by disabling the waypoints of course. So we sat there for like 3 hours watching her be filled with rage and agony. Also yes my friend plays with a touch pad and she refuses to get a mouse cuz it makes too much noise and she always plays a t midnight so the clicking sounds might wake up the family.
Am I the only one who, despite finding this event frustrating and rage-inducing, actually liked this event and kinda want more of this, albeit with toned down difficulty? I'm the only one? Okay then. At least it's not like nowadays' events where its either only battle gauntlets with some new gimmicks each time or ones that force you to complete certain story quests(sometimes all the way to the end) just to participate.
What he forgot to mention in this video are the fricking hilichurl elemental archers spawning out of nowhere just to make your day even worse when you can't sprint to dodge and can't be affected by the elements. And you couldn't clear your path before taking the order because they spawned only after taking it. Even Big Dong Zhong shield could not save you because it would block the damge but not elemental application. This event was truly a masterpiece of trolling the player but still it left a fond memories in my mind that now I can laugh from. And that's more then I can say about most of recent non flagship events.
I joined the game right before the event aired, did like two and just left bc I was like wtf is this LOLL and I just went back to mondstat didn't even know what events were
unfortunately thats also what happened with albedos event with festering desire bc I hadnt met albedo yet and didnt know that it was an event thing so I thought I had accidentally jumped the main story and stopped doing it...rest in peace festering desire
Oh man I remember this. It was fun, but it was very finnicky. When Genshin released, it was not as polished as it is now. Damage in cutscenes, freezing cutscenes and falling to your death... ...so imagine that inconsistency in an event that requires very specific conditions that you sometimes couldn't even control. Ugh.
I'm a 1.0 player, only missed a bit over a hand full of days. Also played beta, didn't know how the Primogems would be introduced. I've heavily enjoyed your response to hearing the pain we went through. I'm the only of my original friends that still play that started with me lol. I am bias, and love genshin but I know how bad these things could be. Funny reliving these events with you has been hilarious. Thanks for this. This makes me proud to still have stuck with the game this long. That food delivery though xD it actually did give a bit of ptsd and I do look back and laugh at the events. But sadly I did have friends quit from some of these events.
Not me thinking "what event could possibly be that bad, I can't remember any" and instantly getting war flashback. I remember us Zhongli havers gloating when you can't sprint cause we could use his charged atk to travel faster. But yea it was bad bad, I remember speeding up time to change weather, doing parkour to avoid being attacked and accidentally jumping when you can't so you have to restart again.
You don't understand the pain i had to go through in this event. I was playing on ps4 at the time and mine was extra slow so teleporting LITERALLY took around a minute to load. By the end of that event I had retried each delivery so many times that I had the delivery routes completely optimised. I learnt that i had to open the map before starting the delivery because even that would take at least 20 seconds to load and opening it beforehand preloaded it for teleporting. I would use Zhongli's charge attack instead of sprinting to get that extra speed boost. That was true trauma and I salute anyone else that was there for it
As a first week player, this is only event in Genshin I never finished. I played on PS4. So, with the atrocious load times and the ridiculous criteria for some of the deliveries, I just couldn't be bothered after the third day of this event.
omg the food delivery event back there 🤣 it was a mess tbh. i remember i kept failing due to the accidentally sprinting, and not to mention the weather always changes like dude it was sunny a few seconds ago why the fck it's raining now.
I blocked out food delivery event out of my mind. Only this video brought it back! Tyvm for this video I raged quit this event so hard and only complete what I could
Idk sounds interesting, I wanna try. That's the part of the adventure. But everyone keeps complaining about everything in this game that it's too hard or annoying and now game is too easy, they even gonna remove boss fight from ascension domain
I'm a returner player and just did the Drum puzzle in Sumeru and IT WAS HELL, like how do you do that, you need a guide in yt to just do that puzzles other wise you'll be hitting that drum who knows how long
I mean, it was difficult, but I kinda liked the challenge. Genshin was my first video game since childhood, and the event helped me git good with a controller.
I'm the old player who plays from the very game's release and I was sitting and thinking "Was there really something terrible like he describes? Idk can't seem to recall" And then I heard "food delivery" and IMMEDIATELY was like "oh it's THAT event"💀
Oh god I remember this event! He didn't even show the worst part! the worst one was the one you had to do in Qingxu Pool with the wet grass everywhere. I must have had to retry that one 20 times!
jokes aside personally it was somewhat of an over exaggeration i found it very fun because it also wants you to be creative and not follow a manual to do it in only a specific way also it wasnt impossible either because if you find this really hard one you can just place a teleport point at the end point and teleport to it to do the challenge in like 10 seconds but i hated the time moving while loading, just plain stupid but i get most of genshin’s players arent really good and dont like losing even once, hence all current events having ground zero skill floor
Yeah I really enjoy that event back then. But Genshin players being so bad makes the game stop making difficult puzzles altogether (I miss Inazuma puzzles)
@@angelichobi__18yeah it could also be the age im not sure, im a bit old so back then losing in games was very normal, actually losing was part of the game because you had to lose many times just to be able to win once, kinda like a learning method some games like elden ring still follows these steps, but other new games dont
Uncommon opinion but I really had a lot of fun with the event. Gotta be reaaal creative with how to get from point A to point B so that made for some hilarity (aka sacrificial jumps were made to ensure under 30 mins or free pizza)
Ah I remember that event. I was okay with it, until the very last freaking delivery that was in Qingxu Pool in Liyue. That darn man surrounded by water with treasure hoarders near him, where I could not be affected by elements, not be attacked, nor could I glide. I don't even think I could sprint, its been so long I can't remember, but gosh darn did it take hours to finish. If remember correctly, Mtashed did a video where he too was stuck with that one, for 6 hours! -cough cough- I digress, as traumatizing as it was, it was indeed fun and I'd like to do it again, cause back then, I was using a potato to play genshin, now I can play in max graphics. Surely the experience would be a lot better no?
honestly, this might be a hot take, but it wasn't that bad, I mean the rain insta fail thing sucked as well as loading times counting in the time, but the rest of it was basically puzzles, "figure out how to get from x to y as safely as possible, with certain restrictions", there was basically always a reliable way to do the delivery, but ofc that needed some planning and looking around instead of just running straight forward to the customer, and well, 90% of players just tried that, failed, and raged that it was impossible lol. Mind you I was a part of that 90%, only to have a look at guides for how others did it, and often realize that there were safe ways around, that only needed one or two runs. IT honestly was a good memory lol.
If the delivery event is to rerun again it would be boring now we have a ton of option of navigation (Except the Element BS) but yeah I really like the delivery event
“I wanna play that for content” Respectfully Bran…..NO. YOU. DONT. I promise you. It would be fun for like…5 minutes. And then…the blood pressure spike
If this event not counts time when loading (or have more time) it gonna be "MY" number 2 event of all time! the fun part of this event "FOR ME" is it test how well you understand MAP and control you character like Path of the Wind event! (aka Windtrace umber 1 event of all time!)
Remember this event, dont remember having a bad time with it(maybe repressed?). I just brought Kaeya and ice bridged across any water area. If not maybe it was Keqing.
Hahaha that Food delivery event is the most memorable event for me as a Day 1 Player. The event was an actual Challenging/Fun and not P2W event. There is that one part of that event that the NPC you need to deliver is in a raft which if you step the damn shoreline, it fails hahaha Edit: oh its in the video XD
I think I had Xiao and zhongli with me on this event, so i could cheese a lot of the deliveries with "not taking damage" and "dont step on the puddle" with xiaos dash and zhongli's shield :3 The concept for the event was fine, the execution was poor, and 3 per day is definitely too much :V The best part was my friends asking me how i did some of the challenges and then malding bcs they didn't have Xiao XD
I gave up honestly when I couldn't get down one of the cliffs without taking damage. It was just one I walked away from and said a big NOPE. I still remember the 1.0 event that you had to use resign for. The one with Timeaus and his little tower. I only did it once and had no idea what was going on but I honestly thing it would be cool to have that again with some updates.
Anyone remembers where you enter the dungeons and you could coop. Then, you have to do like a lot of efforts to get the event card? XD I remember my friends and I were struggling to get the cards because we haven't build our characters that well and just bruh xD It's the one early in 1.0+ where you fight bosses xD
I honestly don't remember having any problems with this event. Maybe because it was such a long time ago but I do remember everyone else getting so annoyed over it while I was breezing through LOL
I remember doing this event, got so frustrated on the first day and so I just made a bunch of portable waypoints and set them near or beside the delivery target's location 😂
i remember this... i only tried the first 2 delivery and entirely skip it! its not worth the hassle and stressed honestly, good thing story and world quest was still jampack at the time
I scrolled down the comments a bit, and I just realized, did sp many people at the time not think of using the portable waypoints? Like, I immediately used it from day 1. I still distinctly remember seeing a tweet of someone saying how difficult this event was back in 1.1 by the 2nd to last/last day of the event, and I replied something like "Why did you not use the portable waypoints?", and them having a breakdown at the realization XD
The raft order was the worst. You have to walk near the lake with tall grass so you cant see the puddle of waters around. So you pray to god that your food dont get thanos snapped
I don't hate the event, but i dont love it either. The restrictions were sometimes nice because it actually forced you to think up solutions(like for example you dont need to jump above the water because you can just freeze it to avoid the wet status, but some of them were just downright mean.

Bring back -adeptal stove- element crucible. Made me feel like I was playing an MMO lol
I was new to the game that time, so I didn't really realize that the event was so traumatizing. I just enjoyed it honestly xD
Ugh.
Also, sometimes, you had to clear the way first, because the shortest route was filled with enemies.
I literally memory-holed this event until watching this and God it was SOOOOOOO frustrating.
A proper rerun of this event is a perfect opportunity to give everyone a free Kirara
literally had a trauma response when I saw "While It's Warm" so I guess he's not wrong
A lot of veterans loved the custom community domain event.
Bran was right about that most replayed...
Oh, i remember that delivery event. I thought it was fine. Didn't know so many people disliked it.
I remember this event. I also remember not doing some of the challenges because 60 primos isn't worth my sanity. Ahh the memories......
I blocked out food delivery event out of my mind. Only this video brought it back!
Tyvm for this video I raged quit this event so hard and only complete what I could
Ah, yes, the event I pretended not to see because I had a potato phone back then and try it once only to fail due to the joys of loading screens-
Idk sounds interesting, I wanna try. That's the part of the adventure. But everyone keeps complaining about everything in this game that it's too hard or annoying and now game is too easy, they even gonna remove boss fight from ascension domain
I'm a returner player and just did the Drum puzzle in Sumeru and IT WAS HELL, like how do you do that, you need a guide in yt to just do that puzzles other wise you'll be hitting that drum who knows how long
i might been screaming inside when this event existed but ngl i want to play it again out of spite
and here's me where I actually enjoyed that food delivery event and was able to do it easily💀💀
I mean, it was difficult, but I kinda liked the challenge. Genshin was my first video game since childhood, and the event helped me git good with a controller.
It was so traumatic that i completely blocked it out from my memories and only remembered till this video
Love how the guy laughs with his audience in his videos
I'm the old player who plays from the very game's release and I was sitting and thinking "Was there really something terrible like he describes? Idk can't seem to recall"
And then I heard "food delivery" and IMMEDIATELY was like "oh it's THAT event"💀
Oh god I remember this event! He didn't even show the worst part! the worst one was the one you had to do in Qingxu Pool with the wet grass everywhere. I must have had to retry that one 20 times!
jokes aside personally it was somewhat of an over exaggeration
i found it very fun because it also wants you to be creative and not follow a manual to do it in only a specific way
also it wasnt impossible either because if you find this really hard one you can just place a teleport point at the end point and teleport to it to do the challenge in like 10 seconds
but i hated the time moving while loading, just plain stupid
but i get most of genshin’s players arent really good and dont like losing even once, hence all current events having ground zero skill floor
Back then we were still new to the game like maybe 2 months in so a big majority of us weren’t good at the game at that time
Yeah I really enjoy that event back then. But Genshin players being so bad makes the game stop making difficult puzzles altogether (I miss Inazuma puzzles)
@@angelichobi__18yeah it could also be the age im not sure, im a bit old so back then losing in games was very normal, actually losing was part of the game because you had to lose many times just to be able to win once, kinda like a learning method
some games like elden ring still follows these steps, but other new games dont
@@0xVENx0 majority of the player base was teens I believe I myself was 15 when it came out, the general age of players was/is around 13-early 20s
Uncommon opinion but I really had a lot of fun with the event. Gotta be reaaal creative with how to get from point A to point B so that made for some hilarity (aka sacrificial jumps were made to ensure under 30 mins or free pizza)
For better or worse, i still remember the event. Idk if it means it was a good or bad event
I always like it when the editor shows up in a YT vid almost like an embedded content creator 😄
10:35 No... It's not a good memory...
Doing this event on the PS4 is literal hell. The loading screen alone took at least 1.5 minutes from the timer
We have a number of characters now to exploit to circumvent these challenges now. Alhaitham's charged skill, Yelan's skill, etc.
“I wanna play that for content”
Respectfully Bran…..NO. YOU. DONT. I promise you. It would be fun for like…5 minutes. And then…the blood pressure spike
OMG NAH I REMEMBER THIS EVENT
BRO I WAS ON THE VERGE OF TEARS AND QUITTING GENSHIN DURING THIS
It was arguably the greatest war that I will never forget
Food delivery even was actually one of the most fun to watch. Top 10 for sure in my opinion.
If this event not counts time when loading (or have more time) it gonna be "MY" number 2 event of all time! the fun part of this event "FOR ME" is it test how well you understand MAP and control you character like Path of the Wind event! (aka Windtrace
umber 1 event of all time!)
I got into the game early because some friends were following it before public release. This event tilted me out of it for two months.
Remember this event, dont remember having a bad time with it(maybe repressed?).
I just brought Kaeya and ice bridged across any water area. If not maybe it was Keqing.
I want that event instead of "please, dear Traveler, breathe so we can give you primogems"
Hahaha that Food delivery event is the most memorable event for me as a Day 1 Player.
The event was an actual Challenging/Fun and not P2W event.
There is that one part of that event that the NPC you need to deliver is in a raft which if you step the damn shoreline, it fails hahaha
Edit: oh its in the video XD
This is the only event that i give up on. Now i can place temporary teleports without problem
I think I had Xiao and zhongli with me on this event, so i could cheese a lot of the deliveries with "not taking damage" and "dont step on the puddle" with xiaos dash and zhongli's shield :3 The concept for the event was fine, the execution was poor, and 3 per day is definitely too much :V
The best part was my friends asking me how i did some of the challenges and then malding bcs they didn't have Xiao XD
This was 1.1 so xiao wasn't available for another 2 patches
Lmao
Using Xiao before Xiao release, ah yes a classic
Ah yes, a time traveler KEK
And nowadays events are so easy you can do them with your eyes closed! :'D
I remember doing this event, got so frustrated on the first day and so I just made a bunch of portable waypoints and set them near or beside the delivery target's location 😂
i remember this... i only tried the first 2 delivery and entirely skip it! its not worth the hassle and stressed honestly, good thing story and world quest was still jampack at the time
seems like a nice guy. I feel like joining his Discord...for...chating...of course...thanks Bran for showing me this channel
Player: *drinks water*
Game: you failed and now the food gone bad
The raft order was the worst. You have to walk near the lake with tall grass so you cant see the puddle of waters around. So you pray to god that your food dont get thanos snapped
As someone who joined early 1.4, low key wanna experience this so I can understand the oldest players pain
Kazuha and especially Wanderer exist now, so this event would be easy for people who have them
Me desperately trying to get enough fates for Neuvillette, but knowing that I'm most likely not going to get him regardless:
I am just going to wish for Neuvillette, I don’t care if it makes me broke, I NEED HIM!!
I don't hate the event, but i dont love it either. The restrictions were sometimes nice because it actually forced you to think up solutions(like for example you dont need to jump above the water because you can just freeze it to avoid the wet status, but some of them were just downright mean.
