It's remarkable in how much time and effort is placed into these crash tests. Even the amount of energy to open a vehicle's door after a crash (1:11) is measured.
i had a volvo as a first car for a few years and i NEVER had a single problem. Yea it was a little slow and old, but it was one of the MOST RELIABLE cars i'd ever driven.
Here's some useless trivia for you guys. Volvo invented the three point safety belt and didn't patent it so that other cars could be just as safe. Good guy Volvo all the way!
+Hanna Williams don't kid yourself. Yes Volvos are safe, but you gotta be careful. It's still a vehicle and very deadly in crashes. Do you ever search for "Volvo Killed" on google's news service? Try it. If you crash at 60mph, you are as good as dead, doesn't matter what you drive.
Actually that's true but most time people brake and car slows down dramatically before crash in most cases unless you going 70 MPH then takes much longer to slow down and to get to the crash testing speed. It's not the Volvo it's the speed that kills.
This was, and im not suprised if it still is, the most advanced crash test lab in the world that also can be set att any crash angle you want. At the time it was build and many years forward no other test labs the word could do that, among many other thing that they could.
Evgin Demirbey Technically, certain automakers can pass IIHS's new small overlap crash test. Still, some fall short of the coveted Top Safety Pick and Top Safety Pick + awards.
Its how well it passes which is the question. I know Saab, and I am fairly sure Volvo does tests their cars at 40mph+ whereas the Eurocap standard test (or whatever it is called) is (or is rated at) 30mph. Also while from the outside the cars look pretty fucked up its the interior of the passenger compartment that counts and how effective the air bags, seatbelts, seats and headrests themselves are.
@KhyronDesintegrado Volvo cars are made in Sweden and Belgium and yes a chinese company called geely owns the car branch of volvo, not the hole company..
For some reason , certain game engines came to mind, like Burnout paradise EA., Rockstar , but they failed at that , Now Killatomate a game developer I think, Made it possible and did a Fantastic Job. Thanks.
that is a very stupid comment. and the reference to the hammer isnt relevant since a hammer is a solid block. a car is a combination of structure and material. a car isnt made to stay intact at impact, but to crumble up in specially designed areas to gradually bring the car to a stop and minimize the chance of injuries. and in that, volvo simply is the greatest
Gotta hand it to the Sweeds for innovations and designs to safety. No wonder they're rated one of the safety car manufactures out there (ie: Saab, Volva.. and yes.. Koenigsegg)
0:55 lol the truck steering wheel is like almost 180 degrees flat, I don't think the airbag is gonna protect the driver since the rim of the steering wheel probably crushed the driver's heart in a crash. Why don't they make truck steering wheels more vertical like maybe 110 degrees instead of like 170 ???
good one volvo you give the nice crash test with your soundtrack and also i want to go see your crash test in the future any way that two vehicles will crash i like that car that is our car in the ohio thanks
not everyday bro they make crash tests at certain times in a year. Because last year I visited that center in Goteborg Sweden :) I was talked with some engineers and they told me " we make a test every year with 3-5 different models :)"
An article from 2010 said that the last 10 years they have crashed 3000 cars. - Well that is what the article said, I did some math of my own and realized it's more like one car each 1.2 days. - I stand partly corrected.
Wish all carmakers over the world adopt Volvo's Safety Standard when making cars..Since it is Chinese owned, how's the safety standards..better or worse?
@FataL Renault zoe was the most important car to Renault it helped them break into the EV market the Laguna hasn't been made for over 10 years and sales of the Megane have completely flat-lined nobody wants a megane
No it's not opinion, volvo maybe do good in a crash but i'm not talking about crash test, i'm talking about reliability, which volvo is at the bottom.. Buy one and came back to me in five years....
@Mihayr36 Hahaha...I agree, but its a good measure to keep truck drivers alert & remind them they're not 100% safe in every collision. While most often they kill other smaller cars, so its a good reverse psychology lol!
She took very good care of it and the problems started as soon as she drive off the dealers lot..DID YOU MISS THE PART ABOUT THE CAR DETAIL BUSINESS STORY?!?!?!? Buy as many as you want, i don't care but when you have big problems don't cry .....
That not a opinion, it's a fact!! Ten years ago i had a car detail business and we would not touch Volvo's or volkswagen.. These were the only two cars something would break off 10% of the time, but especially Volvos.. My mom had a brand new Volvo and had every problem you could have with a car, my neighbor has one and nothing but problems so don't tell me about Opinions...
Such a small car company--sells a little more than 400,000 cars/year. And it still invests so much in safety research, that it's always on the leading edge of safety. GM, Ford, Toyota, etc., etc., have so much more money, and while these companies are now much closer to Volvo safety levels than they used to be, they still should be shamed by Volvo's safety investment. It's one of the reasons I'll only buy Volvos.
i know that Volvo investigates real car crashs too, if somebody lost their life in a real crash, they try to understand main reason to prevent effects of damage... so, no need to make an unrealistic crash test, design, production and setup periods have been completed, why they make a last test about car? can they change all production line and produced cars? tehy have been produced...
Uhh, no. Volvo invented the three point seatbelt. Ford invented the seatbelt along with Cornell liberty University, they worked together on it and produced the first safety car. Look at this video: watch?v=BIHfVLez_64
I was in a tractor trailer wreck twice and I walked away from it ..........but I was not driving it my parkner was........I was sleeping in the back........volvos makes very safe trucks indeed....
I love crash test videos, and this makes me feel safe when I get my Volvo
It's remarkable in how much time and effort is placed into these crash tests. Even the amount of energy to open a vehicle's door after a crash (1:11) is measured.
Juabma
i had a volvo as a first car for a few years and i NEVER had a single problem. Yea it was a little slow and old, but it was one of the MOST RELIABLE cars i'd ever driven.
What volvo do you have?
Ok😂❤
I had to replay few times. This video is....amazing. 0:00
maybe turn off public subscriptions on your channel.
Volvo rules!!!
man i always watched this video in my childhood, it just bring tons of memories
Here's some useless trivia for you guys. Volvo invented the three point safety belt and didn't patent it so that other cars could be just as safe.
Good guy Volvo all the way!
+Hanna Williams Actually it was not Volvo who invented it. Volvo was the first to have it as standard.
+sunnyjason acrually, it was. Nils Bohlin was an engineer for Volvo when he invented it. Volvo was the first.
+Hanna Williams mercedes is better
Actually that's true but most time people brake and car slows down dramatically before crash in most cases unless you going 70 MPH then takes much longer to slow down and to get to the crash testing speed. It's not the Volvo it's the speed that kills.
Using this kind of background music would have given the sound engineer three months in prison in the good old days.
❤😂🎉😮😅😅gfgifsyygdsfhjdffg 0:24
No wonder Volvo is the first (and only company as of 2021) to get IIHS Top Saftey Pick + on every model sold in the US
This was, and im not suprised if it still is, the most advanced crash test lab in the world that also can be set att any crash angle you want. At the time it was build and many years forward no other test labs the word could do that, among many other thing that they could.
Goes to show you, Volvos are pushed for high safety. They aren't like an automaker whom just wants to pass US standards. They go more than way beyond.
true. But don't you think that a car passed us crash tests can be considered as a safe car?
Evgin Demirbey Technically, certain automakers can pass IIHS's new small overlap crash test. Still, some fall short of the coveted Top Safety Pick and Top Safety Pick + awards.

Asphalt8ficionado uuuuuik
Yess.... and they don't chase high speed perform like german n italy... safety first..volvo
@cheesemaster1000 It's a volvo c30. To be precise, its the electric version. Volvo are crashing it to ensure optimum positioning of the battery.
@KhyronDesintegrado Volvo cars are made in Sweden and Belgium and yes a chinese company called geely owns the car branch of volvo, not the hole company..
BEST CRASH TEST EVER
@MrKeny2012
Thank you
Did they survive?
Xcreator Fnf It´s Volvo, so of course they did.
dtiydr * It´s Volvo, so of course they didn't.
Pug Mafia There is obvious logic in what I wrote but none what so ever in what you wrote.

For some reason , certain game engines came to mind, like Burnout paradise EA., Rockstar , but they failed at that , Now Killatomate a game developer I think, Made it possible and did a Fantastic Job. Thanks.
i'm not joking but volvo cars are tank all of them but what would happen if volvo actually make a tank
+Elliot Redding indestructible Volvo tanks indeed!
no engine would powerful enough to move it down the fucking road. Damn thing would make a dent 20inches of concrete
Elliot Redding They would use it in WW3
What is the music? Its awesome ;D 0:40 !
all car companys test their vehicles at 58 - 65 km/h, but the most deadly accidents happen at speeds above 120
Use racing bar like wrc rally..you safe
Those cars should be a mod for BeamNG
where can I find the music
one of the best car tank in the every car maker
Do they always crash the same tree on 0:50?
that is a very stupid comment. and the reference to the hammer isnt relevant since a hammer is a solid block. a car is a combination of structure and material. a car isnt made to stay intact at impact, but to crumble up in specially designed areas to gradually bring the car to a stop and minimize the chance of injuries. and in that, volvo simply is the greatest
beautiful and strong
they test even trucks for drivers safety, that is real nice :)
Gotta hand it to the Sweeds for innovations and designs to safety. No wonder they're rated one of the safety car manufactures out there (ie: Saab, Volva.. and yes.. Koenigsegg)
What college do I have to go in to make me crash tester ?
Still the best in the business!
once a month? How come? I'd say there are enough cars and tests needed to crash atleast a couple of times a day.
Hands down the best bet!
please, song name! :)
Very nice video!!
0:43 wath speed that crash was it please ?
0:55 lol the truck steering wheel is like almost 180 degrees flat, I don't think the airbag is gonna protect the driver since the rim of the steering wheel probably crushed the driver's heart in a crash. Why don't they make truck steering wheels more vertical like maybe 110 degrees instead of like 170 ???
@radisav @davidafadri they put paint on the dummy's heads to see where they hit the airbag or if they hit the airbag at all
Is the test center OK??
real steel . this is TANK
why do they put those yellow and black emplems on the dummy?

WHAT IS THE DMN SONG NAME?????
This is my favorite building in the world.
Anyone know the name of the song?
@davidafadri yes, what with it?
not everyday bro they make crash tests at certain times in a year. Because last year I visited that center in Goteborg Sweden :) I was talked with some engineers and they told me " we make a test every year with 3-5 different models :)"
is volvo still the safest car?
An article from 2010 said that the last 10 years they have crashed 3000 cars. - Well that is what the article said, I did some math of my own and realized it's more like one car each 1.2 days. - I stand partly corrected.
Very hard test Volvo great 👍❤️
Love this video
First truck with airbags, but on a HGV a they are a bit pointless.
+SIMcityplayer2002 Yep, you are, in a word, screwed when the 40k lb seeacan come to visit in the cab...
Саундтрек норм, а вольво лидер в безопасности =)
Wish all carmakers over the world adopt Volvo's Safety Standard when making cars..Since it is Chinese owned, how's the safety standards..better or worse?
THE POWER OF VOLVO SAFETY !!! THE SWEDEN TANK 💪💪💪
volvo drivers are the safest drivers in the universe
just so expensive to fix and always get small problem
A big bravo to Volvo and Renault also!
Renault?? Have you seen the test results of the Renault zoe, its completely failed the overlap crash test and because Renault cut cost
@user-sy7fd8vb5f who cares about zoe😁 Megane/laguna/captur/kadjar are the cars which are more important for renault and the buyers also
@FataL Renault zoe was the most important car to Renault it helped them break into the EV market the Laguna hasn't been made for over 10 years and sales of the Megane have completely flat-lined nobody wants a megane
Wow... at 0:53 first crash test video I've seen where they crash a car against a mountain...
من وجهة نظري الشخصية في كل سيارات فولفو هي الافضل الاقوى علي مستوي جميع انواع السيارات فولفو وبس من كل شي

Volvo is top!
She took very good care of it and the problems started as soon as she drive off the dealers lot..DID YOU MISS THE PART ABOUT THE CAR DETAIL BUSINESS STORY?!?!?!? Buy as many as you want, i don't care but when you have big problems don't cry .....

Awesome.
Safest cars in the world
Don't argue
there's not one other car company that makes a safer car
Uhh, no. Volvo invented the three point seatbelt. Ford invented the seatbelt along with Cornell liberty University, they worked together on it and produced the first safety car. Look at this video: watch?v=BIHfVLez_64
Volvo - for you life

I was in a tractor trailer wreck twice and I walked away from it ..........but I was not driving it my parkner was........I was sleeping in the back........volvos makes very safe trucks indeed....
@sportdern same here!
The music's awesome
1:16 Made M'aiq smile.
this is why i drive a volvo
Volvo has always claimed that they do much more thorough safety testing than IIHS and the like. This video proves it. Impressive.
As did Saab, when they were around,
do these guys have an awesome job or what?!
Mercedes-Benz and Volvo. Safest cars and trucks in the world.
