People make it past Paul early on, Rudy being a creep, embrace the character growth, and THEN get mad when Rudy slips up (like all people do) when he is not in a great state of mind. This should be the last great normie filter.

My beef isn't "I'm mad Rudeus slipped up"; I'm "mad" that the author is obviously contriving his story to align with cliche harem tropes. It doesn't make or break the series for me; I just shake my head at it.

@@andrewsharpe7630 I wouldn’t really call this a generic harem. The author built up these relationships from the beginning unlike many other harems where they just fall in love with the mc because “they’re so cool and stuff.” You should also take into account that Mushoku Tensei is the “godfather” of a lot of Isekai tropes meaning that it was one of the first mainstream novels that uses its tropes effectively.

The characters in MT behave accurately to how most real people would act in these situations. That's why it makes so many people uncomfortable. That's also what makes the characters so compelling and the story so immersive. These characters feel like they really exist. They have flaws and mishandle situations in the same way real people do. If this show enrages or upsets you, it's probably because you aren't mature enough or self aware enough to be watching it.

I'm not a therapist, but I'm a keen observer of people. Something I have seen in modern society is that mental illness is rampant in many different forms. But we don't treat it, we are now celebrating it. One of the biggest issues facing people in today's world is that people lack the ability to separate reality from fantasy. Whether it be reading, playing games, LARPING ( I use this term very broadly ) people cannot seem to differentiated where the boundary is from one to the other. Add to that that everyone that can log on to the internet now thinks that are much smarter and more insightful than they actually are and you get people that can barely tie their own shoes trying to argue with doctors over what the best way to treat cancer is, because they saw some blog by a bored housewife that said that eating wallpaper paste cured her. Yes, it really is that ridiculous. Too many people need real help. And they won't get it until we start acknowledging the elephant in the room. The first step is learning to separate reality from fiction. The idea of fiction is its fantasy, a big "what if". If you try to insert real world values, ideas, morality, etc, into fantasy, it stops being fantasy. You may as well just sit around and read the business section of the newspaper everyday.

True tho, a lot of things that go on in Mushoku Tensei are indeed bad, but that's because we forget it's in a parallel fictional world, like gee why didn't we complain about Shield Hero and their slaves?
Aren't slaves bad in our world?
Why are we just teenage students to go to a country-wide war in My Hero Academia? Isn't War bad in our world?
Most communities surrounding fiction seem to forget that we read fiction for fiction, not reality, go to Live Action if you want Reality so much, I recommend Live Action Dragon Ball and both Live Action takes on Avatar The Last Airbender if you want realism 😂😂😂😂

i totally agree i really don't understand why fans are trying to apply real life morality and ethics to a fantasy world that doesn't abide by real world morals it's like they can't have a suspension of disbelief and they also forget that the series has a medieval society and in medieval society in real life human history polygamy and incest was commonplace

    • @gregori-kk8ii
      @gregori-kk8ii 3 месяца назад +4

The problem that I see with this argument of separating reality from fiction is that some of the greatest authors try to tell us something about our world trough their works of fiction. For example the lord of the rings (which also is fantasy like Mushoku) was based on Tokiens experience as a soldier in WWI. The Divine Comedy is filled with Dantes politic views of the world ,is another good example. So I don’t think there can be a complete separation of reality from fiction, just a healthy amount. And in my opinion the best way to enjoy any media is to take what the author is trying to express, combine it with your opinions and experience in order to create a idea with wich analyze and criticize the work. In Mushoku case I think the author really wanted to write about a harem with hot women 🤣. So I think MUshoku is just anothr isekai that serves as a power fantasy for men, one with a really good story and interesting characters, , but it has the some of the same flaws that have been seen in other isekais, so I think it is fair there to be some criticism

Fiction or not, I think ppl are allowed to be mad/disgusted. Just because its fantasy for you doesn't mean other ppl are required to leave their morals at the door. Ppl are allowed to not like this and they are even right to...its on the fans of the series to understand that and not defend the character. You can enjoy the show and acknowledge the characters are fucked. Look at Konosuba fans...😂😂

@@VirgilHawkinsIsIt's especially because it's fiction that if someone gets mad/disgusted, then they can leave and never come back. That's the mature way to handle it. They don't have to stick around to constantly virtue signal over things that have no actual effect on their life or the whole of reality. At that point, they're just seeking attention and validation on their useless opinion. Fiction doesn't give a damn about how the real world runs. That's the beauty of fiction, so ppl should stop spoiling other ppl's fun and simply move on with their life. That would be a win/win for everyone.

One thing bugs me about this discourse, it's ignoring a very obvious thing. There is a major difference between sex with some random harlot, and sex with someone you genuinely love and have deep and long held feelings for. It's right there in the scene. Roxy holding Rudy, her smell and touch relaxing him like no one else there could. He would of refused literally anyone else. There is no way, in his current broken state, he would of been able to get it up for anyone other than his "Goddess". Was the act of breaking his promise wrong? Of course. When you are broken like that, you are not capable of thinking right. Yes he made a mistake. He proves himself to be a real man by admitting it and not trying to mitigate it. He owns the mistake. If being a "real man" is never making a mistake then the world would be devoid of any "real men".

lol thank you for being one of the few normal MT fans. You hit the biggest point I always try to share when talking about this series of “It’s not our world”.
Rudeus even touches upon this when they first buy Julie. He’s like “oh wait slavery is a thing here. It feels weird but alright, we can at least help make this girl’s life better”
Applying today’s standards to a fictional world that looks like something out of a DnD campaign just ain’t going to work. You morally can disagree with LOTS of things in this series, and that’s OKAY! Rudeus is in a “When in Rome” situation of a culture that is not the one he’s originally from in modern-day Japan.
Just because it’s something YOU don’t agree with, doesn’t automatically mean it’s wrong or bad and I wish people could go into more controversial media like MT with that mindset

Also while the cheating is horrible, and i feel it could hurt Sylphie, I also feel like she would be the type to thank her for saving her Husband, so unless it was a case of him leaving her to be with another person, I would rather a partner that cheated once but still loved me, instead of a dead one.

Only love can break a heart. Only love can mend it again- Gene Pitney
I actualy liked the adaptation version it did make me smile. Roxy going to Rudy was sweet and endearing. I am not endorsing cheating, although I can understand why. I served in the armed forces and I have seen many cultures that are not mine, I learned not to judge other cultures based on my own. I don't have to like it, but i don't have to judge it. Anyways, watching Roxy going to Rudy reminded me of the movie A Knight's Tale. Jocelyn got mad mad when William says he will win the tournement for her, she responds saying winning does not serve her honnor only his. she goes on to say if he wants to prove his love then loose. So durring his matches he just sits on his horse letting his oponets hammer away at him. At first she's all happy to see him loosing on purpose for her. She then she realizes how much he's getting hurt so she tells him if he loves her then he will will his remaing matches, so with much fustration he does so. At the end he cannot go to the party due to being so badly hurt. later Chauser sees Jocelyn sneak into his tent he remarks to himself "And so Guinevre goes to Lancelot. Bed him well my lady, bed him well" That line poped in my mind when Roxy locked the door. Ironicly, Guinivere was cheating on King Arthur with Lancelot.

That is literally all. Which is just insane to me. No sane person watching MT would argue that what happened in this episode isn't actually morally wrong - Rudeus even refers to himself as a scumbag because he knows what he and Roxy did *behind Sylphy's back* was fucked up and wrong. It just seemed to me like the poster wanted to vent somehow and have people congratualate him for his superior morals and for the fact that they correctly identified that Rudeus and Roxy acted immorally in this episode. Mind you, I have no issue with polygamy and him marrying Roxy in general as long as Sylphy consents to it. I just want to make it clear that Rudy is also morally in the wrong in this episode because of the promise he put on himself.
Tbh if he had told Sylphy from the start "I'm a bit weak willed and might get a second wife in the future..." then I wouldn't even be mad at what Rudy does in this episode. This half of the season could've been greatly improved by the single addition of one more episode between the events of 10 and 11.
Like, imagine episode 10 ended with pauls death, then, in this hypothetical episode we see the gang going back to the town, and THEN figuring out Zenith is a vegetable, only for Rudeus to have this long internal monologue between the first and last quarter of the episode, leaving just a couple minutes for that conversation between Elinalise, Geese, and Roxy
That would allow episode 11 (or rather this new episode 12) to remain relatively untouched while adding greatly needed context and emotions.

To me the whole event in the light novel felt like when a bunch of stranded people eat their dead. It's a reproachable behavior, but understandable in that situation. He would have died if nothing was done.

Something, i feel, that the casual watcher of Mushoku Tensei haven't been able to pick up on is that this is a "coming of age" story on steroids. Coming of age stories are supposed to have growing pain moments and this story is absolutely FILLED with them. Rudeus' biggest hang up is his own arrogance about how the world work because he was reincarnated. He hasn't understood that in his new life, when he was 10... He really was only 10. He knew nothing of the world he was born into.
Another thing people seem to forget when watching a show is that the characters don't have all the context that we have as the outside observers of their world and we can't know the struggles that they're going through as though we were there ourselves. Only those who have had they arm ripped off and watched their dad die in the same moment only to find out their mother had an infantial mental regress in the very next moment could ever possibly truly relate to what he was going through with Roxy
Rudeus is an extremely well written character as well as the rest of Mushoku Tensei. Although I'm not an expert in story telling by any means, I'm not afraid to say that i believe Mushoku Tensei is a perfect story

Cuz it will choke you out and kill you they don't know that is actually carbon dioxide but Rudy understands that's why they says don't do it inside of the cave because it probably led to a lot of deaths. Same thing with having a close encounter inside of a dungeon it's best to go back into the dungeon because you'll have lifelong trauma as also its a thing that happens with alot of people especially Car Accidents ( Trust me I was one of them). So in there world I would 100% get how recommending somebody to get laid to cure the depression will be enforced by this mythos because It has worked before and even Annalise's backs up that notion and Roxy was reinforced by it. The odds that Rudeus could pull himself out of it once it gotten to that point is extremely slim anyone saying otherwise haven't delt with someone that far gone or delt with it themself. But even that is his chat just messing with him about "the rat" but even he still has no idea what that means, it's just an ongoing joke with his followers.
    2. I am a LN reader myself; I've read the entire story and MT has been one of my favorite stories of all time. However, the LN readers have been the most annoying people in regard to this episode. They act like the story is completely ruined because of the changes that were made. It's not that big of a deal, the end result was even still pretty much the exact same as in the LN. All of the complaining is unnecessary, and they should just enjoy what they get instead of harping on the adaptation being exactly 1 to 1. I'm just happy to have this masterclass of a story be adapted at all and on top of that be adapted as well as it has been. Despite the changes, you can't deny the amount of care that is put into the anime and the story in general. I was also happy to hear you say that it's the author's story and as long as he is okaying the changes to HIS story that it is perfectly fine.
That's all I really have to say about that, you got a sub from me!

Maybe it’s worth thinking about why the readers of Ln think so and at the same time think about how the characters will be spoiled? Rudeus risks Sylphy's feelings and his family for no reason just because he loves the girl who raped him. everything that Rudeus said, says and will say does not make sense since now he can easily refuse the words that he loves Sylphy and Roxy and wants to make them happy, because he does not need reasons to refuse his words. and this completely kills the entire future of the anime since everything Rudeus says and does will be simply fake. I don’t want an adaptation of 1 to 1, I don’t want to regret that the second season exists, that’s all

I don't know if the culture of Roxy's people are the same as the others but polygamy isn't particularly strange for powerful/rich people in that world. So long as their daughter is loved and cared for and protected and (I assume) given children (again, culture dependent) then they would be pretty happy. Proud even.
I mean if they're particularly progressive parents they would only care if their daughter chose this and wasn't forced into it and is happy.

Rudy took responsibility the first chance he saw Sylphy, asked her outright, and left the decision up to her. Watching people lose their minds over polyamory is highly amusing, as they couldn't begin to comprehend the idea of somebody living a very different life from themselves. In-world. Only the Millis faith is monogamous, and outside of that Rudy was exposed to it at an incredibly young age. If we take his previous life into consideration as well, he never had good interactions with people due to trauma, even among those that did care for him. If we apply typical ethics and morals of our own world, he's actually doing the right thing by not hiding things (like Paul did) and admitting his mistake. In the end, people say Sylphy has no self-respect here.. but in reality I'd argue that she's doing the right thing by making her own choice on the matter. She's even taking into consideration Roxy's feelings on the matter which she has no real reason to do so. This scene more than shoows that not only is Rudeus a better person than Paul was, Sylphy is more compassionate than Zenith was. If you recall, Rudeus had to make Paul out to be an absolute MONSTER to save his half-mother and sister. In conclusion, Sylphy holds no ill will because she expected Rudeus to buckle, and was prepared for it long beforehand. Especially knowing this was an unforeseen circumstance that otherwise would not have caused a deviation from his loyalty.

Honestly your gripes in this episode is the same as mine. Even the reason for accepting certain changes.
First, is the bar scene with geese, liz, talhand and roxy being cut. I can understand they cannot fully adopt certain scenes that is why I was able to be settled with at least the Roxy and Rudy talk where Roxy explained her side. Lots of context was removed but the main key points are in the conversation.
Second, is the changing of Roxy taking the initiative as opposed to Rudy doing it. Had a gripe with it, as I saw it as a form of censorship but knowing that Rifujin was involved, it also kinda imply that it was not censorship as it had the authors permission. The only thing I can say is it is Rifujin's story so it his choice to how he wants to present it in anime format.
Third and last, is the removal of the hypothetical story of Rudy to Roxy. Like I know it is not important to the grand scheme of the story but it just put sooo much substance to the understanding of Roxy as a character to Rudy. Additionally, they cannot even say that it is not important because they would be undermining the scene of Sylphie asking Nanahoshi about why she thought that Rudy was from the same hometown. Like if Rudy's hypothetical story to Roxy is not important. How is Sylphie asking Nanahoshi about her hometown important?
Anyway thank you for the great discussion regarding this "controvertial" episode. Looking forward for more discussion and Mushoku Mondays.

I have to say I agree with you 100%. The LN adds more context, which can give you a better understanding of the characters' actions, but it doesn't change what happened. If I didn't watch something every time a character made a choice I don't agree with, I wouldn't have anything to watch. There wouldn't be anyone on the planet I could talk to myself included because nobody is perfect, and people make some really dumb and stupid decisions. What's important is how you learn and grow as you progress through life.

"UNALIVE" TRIGGER WARNING, read at your own discretion. (I hate having to use that stupid word instead but I'm afraid RUclips might just filter the comment automatically if you use some certain words at times.)
Yeah, about the "what if" scenario about what would happen if Rudeus hadn''t had anyone to console him... I'm 100% certain he would have died. The argument that having a wife and a child on the way would somehow stop him from doing that, while seeming rational, is sadly not enough to stop many people from spiraling into utter depression and ********* themselves. Case in point, I had a neighbour who has a huge family with a loving wife, 3 young teenage sons and a daughter and that guy was very loving and happy most of the time. However he seemingly had these depression episodes from time to time... one night he just went into their private garden and ****** himself. If a man with such a loving family can lose himself so much in such a depressive state to stop thinking about the 4 kids and his wife then absolutely every person can succumb to depression and despair if it just hits you in the most tragic way without you having some kind of support system/net to help you out... And even if you have a support system of some kind - it sometimes tragically just isn't enough if the person themselves isn't receptive enough to it. People who are driven that far to the edge of depression just don't have the capacity to think rationally about the people they are going to leave behind, sadly.

I just want to say I feel like you responded to that post in this video really well. I think the big issue with the poster (and a lot of socity) is that they like to think that depression and other mental illnesses can just be cured with logic, when sadly this clearly isn't the case. As someone that provides support to people with mental health problems, if this worked then I wouldn't even need to do my job. The truth is however the complete opposite. I've suffered from deep long depression myself when I first had a patient die that I cared for. I stayed in bed for days. I didn't eat. I didn't wash. I knew what I would of told my patients. I knew that just getting out of bed and doing simple tasks like having a wash or a small walk would likely help me. But that's the core here. Our body & brain don't work on logic in these situations. Our psychological pain just shorts circuits everything. In the end the thing that helps most isn't telling people what they should and shouldn't do - it's as you also said. It's supportive communities. Those that are willing to step up and say "Whatever has happened. Whatever you're going though. We're here for you, and we're not going anywhere!"

Light novel readers expected divisions between fans and toutists, a filter. What we got is a bunched of pissed of light novel readers and anime onlies who found the episode to be "okay".
That's a problem because it shouldn't be like that. This episode is actually the EMOTIONAL CLIMAX of not only this volume but the entire series so far. That's the Rudy flashbacks and him processing his own grief. That has a WHOLE CHAPTER dedicated to it. It's the chapter we readers cried a lot in. Rudy is grieving not only his current parents but his previous one. For the third time, he's reverted back to a NEET, but, this time, he plans to die with them, starving himself as he replays Paul's death over and over. There are sooooo many moments here that reveals a lot about Rudeus, his reincarnation, his new life, EVERYTHING.

It really upset me listening to this post being read, this OP seems to have a genuine lack of empathy, being incapable of stepping outside thier own little box and into the shoes of others. Morally grandstanding like that about the incredibly weighty issue that the episode was dealing with juat show how shallow their thinking is. Dealing with the grief, depression and guilt that Rudy was experiencing isn't easy, especially if those trying to help have no knowledge regarding how to help. Its incredibly different, when i was watching that episode, it brought up so much emotions for me. I lost my first born son as an infant. It was devastating to my wife and I, and i had her with me to grieve with, Rudy didnt, yes he had his friends, but they couldnt understand what he was going through, they all tried in their own way to reach him, but couldn't. In the end it was Roxy who had finally reached him, it might not have been morally right, but it worked. And it saved his life, Sylphie will no dount be hurt by this, but in the end, her husband came back to her.

my biggest and probably only complaint is that it really does seem like all the major arcs for him are signaled by sex. Eris started a whole new adventure, Sylphy fixed his depression, and Roxy fixed his depression again. it makes the actual emotional progress hes making less meaningful. IMO. Honestly if Roxy did literally anything else to take him out of depression and they took a little time to build romance i would be all for it.

I was reading through comments hoping to find the words that would express these thoughts I couldn't seem to point to. Something seemed off for me since the beginning of the series, and now that I read you I realize what it was: The huge importance sex seems to have. I have no problems with sex, but it's like you said, it kind of makes the whole emotional process that is to grieve feel meaningless or inexistent. It would seem that all that is needed for anyone to recover is to have sex, the magical panacea that instantly cures even the most profound of depressions, immediately reignites the will to live, and even cures the soul from the existential dread and pain of having no clue what we are, what we're doing, or where we are... I'm not saying the emotional connection that would be implied in doing it with someone can't be of help, but to have the "one romantic night" with Sylphie or Roxy being the magic medicine just kind of bothers me. One would wish it was so easy! Then again I'm an anime only and who knows if there are some plot twists expecting me regarding this whole situation... Yet as it stands, it seems like a guy with deep depression who would cope with sexual "deviations" so to speak, gets reincarnated only to have it all be about sex one more time, this time even with his first obsession/crush... It makes me wonder if that actually gets us growing up.

A weak mc isn't an issue, even banging his way out of it could be a character development arc. But one night fixing grief and trauma seems off. Also while he kinda loved her, he more worshiped her haha. She's loved him for about a couple days. Like her bringing him out of depression could have been a really genuine love arc for them and a genuine emotional arc for Rudy. Wasted opportunity IMO. Elinalise also would be unsure if Roxy would be able to use the teleportation circle back to Sharia. The possibility that Rudy dies of starvation before they even leave, let alone him being a walking corpse (and defensive liability) on a VERY dangerous road, makes getting him back to a semi-functioning human being paramount. The 'sex isn't a cure for depression' person is hilarious... I suffered from chronic depression for years and as I decided to get a minor in psychology... Our bodies release a lot of positive emotion boosting chemicals into us when we have sex. We also feel better with strong emotional connections and sex is a a physical bonding activity (generally, though the impact can vary person to person). So while sex won't 'cure' depression it can pull us out of a negative emotional space and help us balance out our emotions. If you have developed some coping mechanisms once your emotional balance is better you can push back your own depressive state. So in fact depression can be treated with sex... With a emotionally committed partner.
This btw is a reason couples should have a good sex life and hold on to their strong emotional connection.

She started drinking heavily(number one reson her husband died was liver failue due to excessive drinking) and my father didn't know what to do; he at the time was also extremely pent-up due to his baby-mama(NOT my mother, my parents are divorced) not wanting to have sex despite him bein clipped. Since I read the LN of Mushou Tensei, I suggested that the two of them to copulate. This ended up helping her to lose her greif substantially. Her heavy drinking ended up practically stopping. Tho another issue cropped up and is a story for another time since it has nothig to do with her depression

People being over invested into the fictional stories will never cease to amaze me. It's a fictional story about a broken man getting second chance at life, trying his best and still making a lot of mistakes along the way. You are not supposed to like everything he does - this was the case in season 1 with all the weird things he's done as a kid and it continues to be the case now. It's ok to not like everything a character does, I would argue this is what makes this story so compelling - Rudeus is not a perfect hero and that makes him more real. It doesn't make him evil - he is a good person that in his times of weaknesses makes mistakes. But to me he still grows and learns to do better through those mistakes.

TL:DR i think this person is missing the point of the series.
I’ve always considered creepy and shameful jabs and personality quirks of this series to be a trade off the story makes in order to have depth and satisfying character development.
The characters are believable. Maybe most of us aren’t cheaters but we’ve all done things we regret and we all have things about ourselves that we wish we could change.
That’s what this series is about, Rudy brings it up all the time and you see how deplorable he’s is right from the start.
There’s plenty of anime with “perfect” characters I’m guessing the person who wrote this comment is used to that. The trouble is that it sounds like this commenter enjoys shows with depth, but it’s kind of hard to have depth without character flaws.

When something really distressing happens to another person, we tend to think or at least in the back of our minds - "It will never happen to me." = Hubris?
But even if it does happen to "me" or whoever that might be, the experience won't be exactly the same and the results won't be exactly the same.
It is also the reason most of us don't truly understand another person's wisdom.
One of the bigger points here is that "this is Fiction." I wouldn't go up in arms over someone else's imagination.

I'm not aware of people calling Rudy a "giga chad" for cheating on his wife. The closest that I've noticed is that people are praising the story for not pulling punches and themselves not being shamed by liking the act of cheating as a resolution for a problem in the story. I'd even bet that it's because it's not a clean or perfect solution that it's such a compelling one.
    E.g.
Tourist: "Did Rudy having sex and cheating on his pregnant wife really help shake his mental paralysis?"
    MT Enjoyer: [gigachad face] "Yes."
Also, while people do enjoy harems, MT is one of the few stories that his harem makes sense. In terms of setting, circumstances, and what you might call the resolution. He's technically minor nobility (hereditary and later granted), Roxy and Eris feel just as sensible of partners individually as Sylphy, and they ultimately end up taking on different roles in the family.

In the nivel when Eris is already there and she has a girls night with Roxy and Sylphie, she remembered something Sauros said "You can tell the caliber of a noble by how well his wives get along", if that isn't the biggest signifier about how Multiple partners is normal I don't know what its

55:07 It’s not for defending Roxy, it’s for saying you don’t really like Sylphie!!! Nooooooo Sylphie is the cutest Andrew!! How can anyone not like her?!?!
But I’m so happy today, vol 18 & 19 of the audiobook just released today so I’ve been listening to them all morning.

Being poly and a war vet, I have tried to avoid these videos because of people pushing their beliefs on people. I appreciate that you point out that it is your personal belief and not everyone’s. Also being a war vet that now suffers, sometimes sex with someone that you have a connection with is one of the only things that will give you enough will to continue to live another day. This poster honestly makes me sick because they clearly haven’t hit bottom before.
Edit: obviously this person has no idea of survivors guilt as well nor a thing about trauma bonding.
Also Roxy did the right thing. I doubt Sylphie would have preferred a dead “faithful” husband. I honestly would expect the same if the reverse happened to Sylphie or Roxy and they were with someone that they were attached to.

I thank the author for bringing this kind of topic into conversation.
Rudeus is almost committing suicide by starvation and he seems to be having a major depressive episode in line to his character which suffers from massive trauma, we as people can see into his thoughts and how much he would like to be dead.
And yet we stop to think about his cheating as the main part of the episode.
I feel that hidden wounds and disabilities are hard to see in part because they are seen as weaknesses and not just a part of ourselves.
It is hard to empathise with this person because we hide this realities from ourselves, the moment we are not fit for society it is the moment we are not valuable, so we lie to ourselves," I would never be there, I would never do those things," they are human things, they have been done, if not by you, by others.

Some viewers can not tell fiction from non-fiction and should leave anime and manga's alone.

Love the content, bro. I look forward to both your videos on Sundays and Mondays. That being said, I had no problem with said changes and / or controversy with the latest anime episode. Now, me personally, I applaud you for even making a video on this topic at all. It brings me back to the notion that anime isn't for everyone, if you have a problem with what your viewing then you shouldn't be viewing it. Nice videos, man. Keep up the good work

How many men in military service stationed weeks/months from their wives have found themselves in similar situations?

The way they keep saying “a real man” is strange, and I think they’re making this post because their own partner cheated on them, it’s why they’re so salty about this point.

This entire scenario definitely added complexity to both Roxy and Rudeus, but the decisions made in this episode and in this section in the volume made me cringe so much. It was tough to watch this episode at points and that hindered my ablility to enjoy the episode as much as I wanted to. Storytelling wise, I get it, but I personally can't watch scenes like this without cringing a significant degree.
Still excited for next episode though.

I just wanted to say the show comes from Japan where if a person get a prostitute it is not really treated a cheating but the act of dating and getting feelings for someone other than your partner is cheat. I am not saying what he did is wright only why the offer of the brothel was probably used.
